Beautiful resort with great service”

One of the better resorts in Koh Samed; clean, new, comfortable, and prob the only resort with the option of 3 beds!

I have to say that Koh Samed, the island itself, is pretty undeveloped and we are really glad that we stayed in Samed Pavilion Resort. It is one of the most decent resorts on the island along Ao Phai beach in terms of its conditions & cleanliness (by looks). We went in a group of 3 ladies and of course, were really happy to get a deluxe triple room with 1 king (or queen) sized bed plus 1 single bed after a staying 2 nights in a twin room in Bangkok. The resort has an entrance/exit that leads to the beach directly so we need not walk on the uneven, muddy, smelly pavements on the main land. Perfect for people who just want to spend all day on the beach. Service in Samed Pavilion Resort was great. We had a flying insect in our room when we first checked in and one of the housemaids who happened to be walking by helped us get rid of it. The staff there genearally are very friendly and helpful.

Magic stay; fab food!”

Close to beach action and shops; fab food

We really loved our stay at the Pavilion Resort. The room was clean and tidy, the service staff friendly and very obliging and the atmosphere was just so relaxing. There was a safe in our room to store our valuables and the room was beautifully decorated. We read over some of the negative reviews of this place before we arrived and now after staying we think some of these reviews were totally uncalled for. Firstly, if you're staying on Ko Samet, you need to chill out and not be in a rush. The food is to die for at the Pavillion, but the service is slow (on average, your meal will take between 30-40mins to arrive). When you order, go do something else: sit by the pool or go for a swim in it; relax on the deck chairs; watch some tv; read a book, whatever. Just relax. You're in Thai time now. We recommend not hiring one of the scooters from the Pavillion though. Our one was dodgy: the rear break failed on my husband soon after he dropped myself and my 4 year old son off back at the Pavillion. He got pretty cut up and grazed. But we braved it out, and perhaps fool-hardedly got a replacement bike, which was, unfortunately, only marginally better. For the price of hire 400THB, you could do better down the road.

Perfect”

Comfortable bed, great shower, delicious breakfast and a nice little pool

travel to ko samet quite regularly with a group of friends and this was our first stay at samed pavilion resort (our regular place told us their new policy was only to accept reservations for three nights or more and we were only going for the weekend so had to find another place). very impressed with the place and it's now the place we will go back to... a little more expensive than out original place but definitely worth the extra money. the rooms were spotless and modern... comfortable beds with crisp linen, good sized bathroom with a fantastic shower. the extensive buffet breakfast was much appreciated (especially the delicious brown bread and the best bacon i've had in 8 years of living in thailand). the pool was great for a break from the beach. the location, although not on the beach, perfect for our requirements. a great find!

Best Breakfast on the Beach. No Doubt”

Location, Breakfast, Staff

Living in Thailand full time we have stayed at 4 different resorts on Koh Samed in the last 6 months. On the whole the staff don't care about the customers at all. Read reviews from other places. The buffets are discusting, served in a dirty atomsphere by staff that at best are wearing a dirty tee shirt. at Pavilion Resort the staff are dressed smart, friendly and actually do there job, wait on people. The owner, whoever they are, here is switched on. I will work our guesthouse, Richman Poorman in Jom Tien, for high season. Our 1 st chance we get will take us back to Samed Pavilion

new hotel with good location”

soft bed

the newly constructed hotel is a good deal for the price and worth the super short walk from the beach. it is walking distance to both the active beaches to the north and the more quiet beaches like tub tim south of hotel. the beach directly in front of the boardwalk is not as nice as the near by beaches. i have stayed at various hotels on koh samet and would consider coming back to samed pavilion. the bedding, both mattress and sheets, are some of the nicest i have had in thailand. the hotel also has a pretty good breakfast buffet.

Friendly and comfy room”

Great location and very decent priced

1st time to Samet island. The resort has friendly and helpful staff. The location is great, just a walk away from the sandy white beach. The room is clean and very comfortable. The resort is close to the popular night spot at Samet island, very surprised of how lifely the beach at night. Me and my friends truly enjoyed the stay at the Samet Pavilion resort. Note: For those that travelling to Samet island i fully suggest you take a speedboat (just slightly more expensive then the ferry). It directly land in front of most villas and resorts and it took only like 1/4 of the time to reach there.

Good find... ”

Staff, location, decor...

hotel is set back slightly from a very quiet beach (at least quiet mid-week when we went). staff very friendly, breakfast great with lots of choice. room perhaps slightly smaller than average (apparently silver sands next door has bigger rooms, but can get quite noise thanks to the disco every night). koh samet on the whole is quite an expensive island, being so close to bangkok. for utter relaxation mid week, with a couple of close by and reasonable restaurants, i'd stay at samed pavilion again.

Nicest Hotel on Koh Samed”

Over the years I've stayed on Koh Samed in Ao Wong Duean (x2 hotels), Ao Phai and Hat Sai Kaew (x3 hotels). This is the nicest hotel by far. The pool is very nice and quite well sheltered from the sun. Good choice for breakfast but not enough tables in dining area. Every inch of every beach after sunset is covered by seating from bars and restaurants. Ao Phai is a quiet resort with a gently shelving beach. Good for young children. You can walk to Hat Sai Kaew ~800m to Ploy Bar Light and fire show or take taxi 200 baht. When you want speedboat took 20 minutes direct to Ao Phai beach from mainland for 1,000 baht (family of 4). Not to be recommended if windy. Hourly slow ferry from Na Dan pier back was 500 baht and took 40 minutes + 300 baht taxi from hotel.

Nice new resort, excellent breakfast, nice rooms”

Rooms well decorated, good bed, good bathroom, excellent breakfast quality

Ao Phai beach is a great location in Koh Samet. Not too noisy, and not far away from the action. The resort is nicely laid out, nice rooms, comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms. The resort staff are friendly and helpful. The quality of the food at breakfast time was excellent, consistently for the three days that we stayed, a great start for each day. Towels are even available for you to take to the beach, although, understandably, a deposit is required. On the downside, there are no views. This resort sits behind Samet Villa resort, but is only a 30 second walk to the beach. The only other downside was that we felt our 2500baht/night rate was a little too high (type B room) since their neighbours on the beach are priced at a little lower. We were kindly moved to a Type A room on our second day. Worth a visit, particularly good for families, nice and quiet.

Great stay, great location”

close to the beach, clean and modern rooms, good buffet breakfast

We have stayed in Samet many times before but this was our first time at Samed Pavilion. From the moment we walked into our room we were satisfied. It was small but visually appealing and very clean. Everything in it felt new and modern. The bathroom was very clean, quite large, and had everything one might need at a hotel. The TV was great and had good channels for lazy afternoons. The pool was also a nice touch if you don't want to go down to the beach. Breakfasts were great. Loved how "sound-proof" the rooms were. THe dining area was right outside our room but we never woke up from any sounds in the mornings. The resort grounds are small but beautiful and cozy. It was a very positive experience.

Probably one of the nicer hotels on the island”

Nice hotel compound, friendly service

Upon arriving on Ko Samed, you might feel a little underwhelmed by how developed the place is. The taxi ride in to Samed Pavilion was bumpy (on the dirt road), and passed by many hotels which looked largely unimpressive. Imagine our glee when we finally arrived at Samed Pavilion Resort, which sported a nicely done up compound with good facilities and all. Definitely one of the better hotels to stay at if you want to ensure a comfortable stay, and the hotel provides decent breakfast and also a small jacuzzi and pool. The back entrance leads you out to Ao Phai beach directly, with many restaurants dotting the beach. Take note though, that if you don't wish to trek through the dirt road, it will cost 150B each way to get to Hat Sai Kaew Beach (where most activities are) by taxi.

An Escape from Reality”

the rooms, the setting, the convenient location of the hotel right next to a beach, the service

my stay at samed pavilion was enjoyable. although the ride there on the song tao was bumpy, this nevertheless did not diminish the enjoyment of my stay there. the rooms were clean, nicely furnished and decorated. i loved the fact that the hotel was located right next to the beach as it allowed ease and convenience in visiting the beach whenever i felt like it. i would definitely return to samed pavilion if i were to visit ao phai beach on koh samed again. however, i thought the rooms should have been larger for the rather steep price that i was paying.

Quiet Rooms & Helpful Staff”

I have stayed on Koh Samet over 20 times, but this is the first time I've stayed at Samed Pavilion Resort. The reason we chose SPR was because it had a swimming pool and the family that accompanied us wanted one. We found the staff to be friendly, helpful and attentive. We have a baby and they assisted us a lot. The pool is nice, but can get quite crowded especially at the weekend. The room we had was clean, spacious and quiet and the breakfast is excellent with enough choice for everyone. The only major issue was a large group of Chinese tourists arrived on Friday (around 80 - 100 people) and the resort became very crowded. I would definitely recommend Samed Pavilion even though it is quite expensive.

Beautiful Resort, Great Location”

great staff, great location, yummy breakfast, close to beach

my good friend and i arrived to the samed pavilion after staying at another resort on the island. we were amazed by the beauty of this resort and the super-friendly staff right away. we were very impressed with our nice room that was on the 3rd floor so it had a tree-house feel. just a short walk out to the beautiful beach in front of the hotel was no problem. there is no private beach for this resort, but can buy a lounge chair for the day from the thai ladies for 60 baht ($2us). also, massages are readily available on the beach. the location is perfect because it is on a beach that is connected to the big party beaches farther north by short walk. but, it is far enough away that the music won't keep you up at night. there is a beautiful pool, that we didn't go in because of the ocean right there. the included breakfast was great also. i would highly recommend this place for couples, families, young people, anyone really!

It is in a walking distance to Saikaew beach, the busiest part of island. Then the guest can search for fun day/night life in Saikaew area, and then having a relax and more peaceful rest in Ao Phai area. The drawbacks i can think about this hotel are 1) Too small common area eg. Dining area is very crowded during breakfast time, small swimming pool 2) This place dont run restaurant. If the guest order food, hotel staff will order from another hotel, which means $ adding on its menu and it may taking some time for food delivery. 3) Free wifi but in the room i stayed, signal is weak. 4) This hotel do not has its own beach. Although the distance from Samed pavillion to the beach is within a minute walk, but you need to rent the beach chair because they belong to the hotel next door. Overall, Samed pavillion is good. I impressed its room condition, cleanliness, and very yummy breakfast; however, i may try Samed villa, the hotel next door, in the next trip.

Great hotel with lovely beach”

Walking distance to the beach and restaurants

samed pavilion resort stands out from the rest of the resorts in koh samed because it is very pretty. it is a 3 minute walk to the beach where you can find many restaurants and you can also walk to the other resorts. the room was very clean and service was prompt. breakfast was good as there was a selection of thai and continental food to choose from. the swimming pool is a bit small but it is well maintained.
