Situated on the grounds of the Korean World Trade Center complex, the area features the convention and exhibition centers, the COEX shopping mall, two luxury hotels, a multiplex cinema, the COEX Aquarium, Kimchi Field Museum and the Seven Luck Casino. Up to 200,000 people visit the complex to work and shop every day.
Along with its hundreds of shops, the mall houses two food courts and an array of eateries serving everything from Korean, Chinese, and Japanese to American and German cuisine. Foodies will enjoy the Kimchi Field Museum, which focuses solely on one of the most important ingredients of Korean cuisine; its history, varieties and importance to Korean culture. The greatest aquarium in Korea, the COEX Aquarium boast 650 species of marine wildlife.
After a long day of shopping and sight-seeing, visitors can relax in the garden by the Piano Fountain in Asem Garden or visit Bongeun temple, a Buddhist temple right across the street.
