More about Samui Sense Beach Resort

This little gem of a boutique resort is tucked away on a peaceful spot of Lamai Beach. The Samui Sense Beach Resort is a five-minute walk from the beach’s main resort area with plenty of quaint little restaurants, bars, and shops. Lamai Beach is a great alternative for those looking for a more peaceful beach location than Samui’s most popular and crowded beach Chaweng, which is only a convenient and inexpensive 15-minute taxi or minibus ride away from the Samui Sense Beach Resort. The resort comprises a small number of newly renovated poolside villas, Thai villas, superior rooms, and suites in an intimate setting. The resort offers free internet access in the reception area, as well as daily complimentary bottled drinking water in all guest rooms. Excellent location, Lovely hotel, Courteous staff”

Value for money, quiet, excellent service, superb location and good rooms

Samui Sense Beach Resort pros and cons: Pros: 1. Courteous staff 2. Good Room 3. Quiet around the pool 4. Plenty of tan beds 5. Superb value for money. Cons: 1. We had to go and ask for the toiletries to be replaced. This was done promptly but we had to go and tell, 2 days. We chose to stay at Haad Lamai as against the more popular, Chaweng. This turned out to be an excellent choice. Lamai was lively without being crowded and having all the eateries that would ensure a fussy eater doesn't die of starvation.

Great hotel, great service, shame about nightlife”

The hotel was right on the beach, room was large and very clean. Staff extremely helpful. I really can't knock the hotel at all.
The drawback for us was not the hotel but the Lamai resort's nightlife. A bit too seedy due to all the go-go bars.

This is an excellent value hotel. We stayed in a poolside villa which was spacious, very clean and had a large terrace overlooking the pool. Quite chic, too. The hotel staff were very helpful from the second we arrived. The hotel is in Lamai and right on a lovely stretch of the beach. The only downside to our stay was Lamai's nightlife which is quite seedy. We ended up taking a 20 minute taxi ride (£5/6) most nights to Chaweng which offered a more varied nightlife. Chaweng's beach was also lovely so I'll probably look for a beach front hotel there if returning to Samui. If you do want to stay in Lamai, I would certainly recommend Samui Sense.

The best !!”

Location, food and breakfast

We really had a good time in Samui Sense Beach Resort. We have been in Samui 3 times. This place was the best and fair price. Private and clean beach. Nice restaurant. Their food and breakfast there was really yummy. Staffs were really nice. The room was so so. Hot water worked not really well but is was not our problems at all. We have nothing else to say. Just "the best!!!" We were really happy!!!! I recommended this hotel. We would go back there again when we have chance!!! <3

Lovely place, great staff”

Samui Sense Beach is a beautiful resort away from the crowds of Chaweng with a very relaxing atmosphere. The friendliness and attentiveness of the team is what sets it apart from other places. Everyone greets you with a smile and a warm Hello every time they see you. The pool is clean and great. The beach adjacent to the resort is clean and quiet, and not far of the watersports activity. The restaurant serves great meals at pretty reasonable prices. The breakfast options each day are fine and didn't become too repetitive even after 2 weeks. Bedroom is clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Nina for making our stay so wonderful.

staff, spacious layout of resort, setting

We had our Christmas at Samui Sense Resort with people flying from different parts of the world. It was a fantastic Christmas because we were able to enjoy the resort without feeling over crowded. The rooms were spacious and the grounds were surrounded by nature making it quite peaceful and relaxing . The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the manager. it was peek season and the hotel was fully booked but because of the layout you never felt over crowded. Great beach, fantastic food and massages was provided. We will be returning next year.

Really nice hotel at the beach /quieter part of Lamai”

We had a great time at the Samui Sense... First we had the Bungalow right at the pool and the restaurant...we staied a couple more days in a Thai Villa. Both clean and spacious. Breakfast was perfect . We really like this part of Lamai as it is calm but still in walking distance to restaurants and shops. The beach is nice , the water deep enough to swimm . The staff was really nice and helpful... Next time I come back to Lamai I would definetley stay again in this place... A thank you to the manager and the staff once again...

Very nice, well located hotel at Lamai beach”

Very green terrirory, friendly staff, good and stylish room - and location

We have stayed at Samui Sence hotel 3rd time and again found it among the best value for money places to stay at Lamai. This is very decent and slylish three star hotel with very lush(even by Thai standards) tropical garden, big pool and own beach access. Thai villas are are the best value for money option albeit a little bit dark (located in the garden). If to stay in Superior rooms in main building worth to ask room with balcony - otherwise it can be only small window near bathroom. Pool villas are closest to the beach (and pool) but with some lack of privacy. Lamai beach night (and day) life is at close walking distance.

Excellent service, nice hotel”

Junior Suite room, great service

We had originally booked the Thai Villa, however when we arrived it was not exactly what we had expected. The room was small and dark and was quite aged, and it had a funny smell. We asked the staff if they had any other rooms and they offered us the junior suite for an extra A$250(ish), which we decided to do. It was definitely worth it - the suite was lovely, modern, clean and still had a nice thai kind of feel to it. The staff were so lovely too, they were helpful and friendly and polite. The restaurant was okay, had a little bit of a B-grade feel to it however again the staff were just gorgeous. The food was reasonable too. The location was great, Lamai obviously being the quieter of the two big beaches. We weren' t looking for a party week, and Lamai was still busy enough to go out and have some drinks when we wanted to and not be the only ones doing so. Overall, we had a lovely week staying at Samui sense and would definitely recommend it, so long as you stay in a suite. I wouldn't bother getting anything less.

Wonderful space to relax”

pool,beach,staff

We had a very relaxing week at Samui Sense. The reception staff are extremely friendly. They are helpful and always smiling. We had an early checkout and it was smooth and pleasant. We didn't really see this kind of helpfulness in the rest of Thailand in this type of hotel. Huge plus. Our safe broke during the week we stayed there and it was replaced immediately. The maintenance also replaced a light with an apology that we didn't even realise was out.It is in a nice area surrounded with good restaurants and bars. The pool area is wonderful and it was the best swimming we had in the ocean even though the water gets dirty in the afternoons. Why I don't know. The breakfast is pretty standard. They do serve good fruit. We loved our room and would definitely stay here again, but they should fix the shower's head, water pressure, heating. A better shower would make for a better stay. I would also suggest putting mosquito nets In the room or at least those electric bats because there are loads lurking in the hallways. Overall this is a nice older hotel and it is good quality for the price.

Layed back on Lamai”

The comfortable beach sitting, the solitude, the greenery

Samui Sense provided a perfect place to wrap up my visit to Samui. The layout made it feel very private and like a boutique resort. The best beach lounging I have ever had. A very comfortable, attractive setting. The staff in the lobby were friendly and helpful and the room tastefully decorated. Had a great stay. Some small detractions, room smelled musty upon entering, though they did a good job covering it up on arrival with the smell of Jasmine. The front desk could not get me a cab when I needed one to go to the pier at check out. ???

On the beach, nice room, helpful staff

Samui Sense was the last stop on our travels ); and it did not disappoint. When we arrived the room was lovely but didn't have a balcony (we hadn't booked one with) but the manager (I think) was able to change our room in a matter of hours. The restaurant on the beach is lovely but al ittle pricey. Beach is also very nice but the resort put the sun loungers in at 5pm tp set up more tables. We were fortunate enough to celebrate SOngkran here and the staff and thier friends/families were so mcuh fun, I will never forget it. Location is good as well, only down side, which isnt one really is that the pool is pretty small.

Nice Resort at the Beach”

Breakfast restaurant directly at the beach with a nice view to the Lamai Beach. The restaurant can also be recommended for lunchtime and dinner. For medium to upper level prices you get a good and adequate quality of drinks and meals.
Room size a little to small. Spa not directly in the resort.

The Samui Sense Beach Resort has a calm position at the Lamai Beach which is also good for starting trips inside the island. Very nice and romantic is the restaurant directly at the beach. The garden and swimming-pool are well taken care of. A good place for relaxing, though Spa is not inhouse. But the transfer to the Spa is well organized and for free.

Great hotel with excellent location.”

For the price we paid (€31) we were amazed at how good this hotel was. We stayed in the superior rooms which aren't large but was perfectly comfortable for our needs. The beds are fairly firm but very comfortable and our shower had good pressure though the water temperature fluctuated a bit. The grounds are very well kept and very pleasant to walk though. The pool area is fairly small but serviceable and it's right next to the beach anyway. We never tried the food at the hotel restaurant but they do make some nice cocktails Over all I would say this is a great hotel if you stay in Lamai beach.

Friendly and helpful staff, nice hotel in a great setting overlooking the beach which is probably one of the best in Samui, in between Chaweng and Lamai, fairly quiet outside of the hotel but hotel offers a free shuttle into Lamai and back or the hotel can provide a motorbike from 200 baht per day.

Great location but could use some upgrading.”

We love the lamai area of koh Samui. We chose this resort as it was in a great location and priced fair. Staff were good, the beach was amazing and endless and pool was enough. Only down side was the rooms were very dark and a bit outdated and the bed was really hard(like concrete). All in all I would recommend this place as we did have a good stay there for a week.
