"We had a great time at the Samui Sense..."
October 9, 2017
This little gem of a boutique resort is tucked away on a peaceful spot of Lamai Beach. The Samui Sense Beach Resort is a five-minute walk from the beach’s main resort area with plenty of quaint little restaurants, bars, and shops. Lamai Beach is a great alternative for those looking for a more peaceful beach location than Samui’s most popular and crowded beach Chaweng, which is only a convenient and inexpensive 15-minute taxi or minibus ride away from the Samui Sense Beach Resort. The resort comprises a small number of newly renovated poolside villas, Thai villas, superior rooms, and suites in an intimate setting. The resort offers free internet access in the reception area, as well as daily complimentary bottled drinking water in all guest rooms. Please enter your dates on our secure online booking form to make a reservation at Samui Sense Beach Resort.

Right on the beach. Great location close to restaurants and bars far enough from the noise. Great staff always friendly and helpful. Very nice pool and a beautiful garden. Will be returning to stay again.
I should give my stay a 1 star rating. But I feel bad for the nice staff...”
I opted to check out early after one night, as this was the path of least resistance. In my 25 years of travels this has only happened a handful of times. I do not do this lightly. At check in I was presented with a list of items in the room to sign off on, as if I need to steal the teacup and laundry bag or slippers. Then I found out the internet connection in the entire resort was down. Fantastic. The air con was utterly useless and sounded like the engine room on a ship. The staff spoke minimal English and made communicating my concerns extremely vexing. The room itself was small, dark, and reaked of air freshener. They also had dozens of candle-heated fragrant oil burning in the room, in all the hallways, so you can imagine the dense odor... One could wonder what those scents were meant to mask. The morning after, I asked to please have a different room as I felt my nose was running and I had a massive headache from the strong smells, and they actually presented me with the neighboring room with connecting doors...! Or I could pay for an upgrade in a near deserted hotel in low season. At that point words failed me and I decided not to fight it and just leave. Other than that, the location is fantastic and the staff very sweet and they tried their best. Unfortunately I cannot spend my vacation time managing a poorly managed hotel.
LAMAI'S LITTLE GEM”
A range of accommodation at this hotel on Lamai beach, very clean rooms and staff were all excellent. Large but quiet pool area and perfectly situated for Walking Steet shops and pubs. Can't wait to go back, Dave.
Right on the beach, great location at affordable price”
The resort is very central, close to restaurant, shopping...etc. It is right on the beach and has a very nice pool. We stayed in a Thai Pavillon which was very nice albeit a bit dark. The garden is wonderful. The staff was extremely helpful.

Great location, fast interent, nice pool and by the beach”
Overall a nice place to stay, great gardens, pool near the beach and nice beach area. The staff very friendly and helpful and very quiet when staying here. The room nice and big and very comfy, i would stay here again.
The best !!”
We really had a good time in Samui Sense Beach Resort. We have been in Samui 3 times. This place was the best and fair price. Private and clean beach. Nice restaurant. Their food and breakfast there was really yummy. Staffs were really nice. The room was so so. Hot water worked not really well but is was not our problems at all. We have nothing else to say. Just "the best!!!" We were really happy!!!! I recommended this hotel. We would go back there again when we have chance!!! <3
Wonderful space to relax”
We had a very relaxing week at Samui Sense. The reception staff are extremely friendly. They are helpful and always smiling. We had an early checkout and it was smooth and pleasant. We didn't really see this kind of helpfulness in the rest of Thailand in this type of hotel. Huge plus. Our safe broke during the week we stayed there and it was replaced immediately. The maintenance also replaced a light with an apology that we didn't even realise was out.It is in a nice area surrounded with good restaurants and bars. The pool area is wonderful and it was the best swimming we had in the ocean even though the water gets dirty in the afternoons. Why I don't know. The breakfast is pretty standard. They do serve good fruit. We loved our room and would definitely stay here again, but they should fix the shower's head, water pressure, heating. A better shower would make for a better stay. I would also suggest putting mosquito nets In the room or at least those electric bats because there are loads lurking in the hallways. Overall this is a nice older hotel and it is good quality for the price.
A fantastic relaxing resort with friendly attentiv”
We had our Christmas at Samui Sense Resort with people flying from different parts of the world. It was a fantastic Christmas because we were able to enjoy the resort without feeling over crowded. The rooms were spacious and the grounds were surrounded by nature making it quite peaceful and relaxing . The staff were very friendly and helpful especially the manager. it was peek season and the hotel was fully booked but because of the layout you never felt over crowded. Great beach, fantastic food and massages was provided. We will be returning next year.
nice, clean, friendly, quiet, good location”
I stayed in a room, not in a bungalow. The building was very nice with spacious areas outside the rooms to sit and relax. Room was with dark wood (which I like) and open window to the bathroom (which I like as I can watch TV from there). It's a small narrow resort, a little set back from the main road (which is not very crowded anyway in this area), so it's quiet and you yet don't have long ways to go. Pool is not too big (ca. 10-15m), but very clean. open access through the restaurant area to the beach, which was very nice and clean at that area. Restaurant & drink prices are too high, you can get better and cheaper just outside the resort. Breakfast was nothing special, but good, with fresh made eggs / omelettes. staff very friendly and helpful. Altogether good value for the money.
Quiet and great location on the beach, small rooms”
this resort is within easy walking distance to food, drinks, bars of various types, atms. they have a tour desk which is very helpful and their english is very good. the resort is a true mini resort. we stayed in the motel style rooms which was good, but if you get upgraded to a poolside bungalow you would be more than pleased. pool is great and a good size. as with most thai accommodation, the staff can not do enough for you. at this resort, they leave you alone until such time you want something. breakfast was ok, not five star, but it had what you would get down the street for or more. beds were comfortable in the hotel style resort, so were the pillows. medium softness all around, not hard and angry like many thai beds can be. very clean, and you could easily take your family or angry mother-in-law there and there would be little to find wrong. this resort is in the quieter end of the street which can be good at day, but a bit challenging at night. depending on how safe you feel in dimly light streets. if you are very wary, catch a cab.
Perfect hotel for beach and nightlife”
this hotel is ideal for a beach holiday with kids. beach is quite good with clean water and many people selling snacks. beach restaurant is very good but quite expensive.service is very good every where in the hotel. we changed our rooms very easily. very easy to walk to shops and restaurants. rooms a bit old, but no big problem. we will come again for sure.
I moved around a bit, as I was not happy with the Superior Room. This in itself showed just how much they wanted me, the customer to be happy. I asked for room changes three times-no problem for them to organise. They were very patient with me, I cannot imagine the reaction if I tried this in the UK. I would stay in either the Thai Villas or The Poolside rooms. Both are spacious, please vist their website to see the beds in Thai Villas- very, well make up your mind. Rooms are big but maybe a little gloomy for some. Poolside Rooms are exactly that-right by the pool with a private balcony. Large comfortable rooms, airy and light. Best Rooms, without a doubt number one. Has double aspect with one overlooking the ocean. On the beach-what else is there to say. It's less than a minute from the pool to the ocean so no stress at all. Evening dining on the beach, something real good to share with a "friend".
Decent place with a nice beach and friendly staff, only real con was the air con and fridge were far too loud and made sleeping impossible.
Great staff, very friendly. Lovely pool and beach. Rooms recently renovated, very new and clean. The one thing I didn't understand was the restaurant. The food was below mediocre, and the price was very high. No one ate there. So, why not have medium food for cheap, or excellent food at a high price? I really do like staying on the hotel grounds for lunch, but this literally drove me out onto the street.
Really nice hotel at the beach /quieter part of Lamai”
We had a great time at the Samui Sense... First we had the Bungalow right at the pool and the restaurant...we staied a couple more days in a Thai Villa. Both clean and spacious. Breakfast was perfect . We really like this part of Lamai as it is calm but still in walking distance to restaurants and shops. The beach is nice , the water deep enough to swimm . The staff was really nice and helpful... Next time I come back to Lamai I would definetley stay again in this place... A thank you to the manager and the staff once again...
Great hotel with excellent location.”
For the price we paid (€31) we were amazed at how good this hotel was. We stayed in the superior rooms which aren't large but was perfectly comfortable for our needs. The beds are fairly firm but very comfortable and our shower had good pressure though the water temperature fluctuated a bit. The grounds are very well kept and very pleasant to walk though. The pool area is fairly small but serviceable and it's right next to the beach anyway. We never tried the food at the hotel restaurant but they do make some nice cocktails Over all I would say this is a great hotel if you stay in Lamai beach.
Wunderfull stay on Lamai Beach, resort located in the middle of beach... Nice sand access to the sea, water was clear and not so many people on the beach... Room was clean, nicly furnitered, comfortable beds. Be carefull you notice clean ladies to make up your room, it is not a standard. Staff was very helpfull, they arranged quickly and reliably every trip, motorbikes, ticket... Fully recommend the stay in this resort! We loved that and really enkoyed😉
Hotel really nice, and new!! For koh Samui is one of the best as all hotel are more or less the same!! Accommodation value for money A bit exepensive on food and drink reason why we always opted for dine outside!!! Breakfast poor but I didn't expect more for the price that I paid, very friendly staff, even if was a English barrier!!! Room very clean, only the restaurant for breakfast should be more clean, the same table cloat for 10 days and the tables were full of ants!! Overall nice stay and I suggest to every one. Also the pool is nice, warm water and well manteined
Great beach front hotel”
The title says it all. We stayed in a Thai villa and were pleased with all aspects of our experience with Samui Sense, although the beach front is what really made it a great stay. Would happily go back again.
Lovely place, great staff”
Samui Sense Beach is a beautiful resort away from the crowds of Chaweng with a very relaxing atmosphere. The friendliness and attentiveness of the team is what sets it apart from other places. Everyone greets you with a smile and a warm Hello every time they see you. The pool is clean and great. The beach adjacent to the resort is clean and quiet, and not far of the watersports activity. The restaurant serves great meals at pretty reasonable prices. The breakfast options each day are fine and didn't become too repetitive even after 2 weeks. Bedroom is clean and comfortable. Special thanks to Nina for making our stay so wonderful.
