Such a relief after Manila!”
I stayed at San Roque for 2 nights. My Agoga booking had directed me to the wrong location in Lemery, something that had apparantely happened numerous times before. Because I was so intent on hiking the Volcano, I paid a private van to take me to my destination. Please note travellors - there is only one San Roque Paradise Hotel, previously San Roque Beach, located in TALISAY Once i arrived, Management was so apologetic for Agodas mistake and all was well! Loved my stay here. I went on a boat tour with other guests to lower the cost to the Volcano. Wonderful day outing. Suggest an 8:00 AM start to avoid the heat. Food packages were a bit limiting but there were a few local places to eat. I also went to Tagartay for a visit and so much appreciated my choice on the lake. So many tourist buses and traffic! Many Kudos to San Roque Paradise Resort and Family!

Peaceful place with a spectacular view”
Speaking with Lita, the owner, you would find out that having her own bed and breakfast has always been her dream and her passion. She is the heart of San Roque Paradise Resort and the one who makes this place so homey. It's the best place to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Just looking at peaceful Taal Lake and Taal Volcano in the distance is already calming and relaxing. My senior citizen parents and myself (as well as our Golden Retriever) enjoyed our stay in our upgraded mini apartment with two queen sized beds, airconditioning, as well as our own bathroom and kitchenette. We love that they are also pet-friendly. All the basic amenities were provided, but do manage your expectations as this obviously isn't the Best Western or the Holiday Inn. Lita's son can also take visitors to the volcano for tours on his own motor banca, and his grandsons are also there to help with food and accommodations. All in all a lovely and charming family-run property.

The Perfect Trip Outside of Manila!”
I was traveling alone around Manila and was happily surprised when I arrived and saw the breathtaking views at the San Roque Paradise Hotel. I hadn't eaten lunch yet as I was finding my way by myself, so as soon as I arrived the owner's daughter prepared a really nice meal for me. The owner told me that they really like to be the first one's out to Taal Volcano at 7AM, and since I was the only customer that Sunday night I was the first to climb the volcano that day. It would've been less expensive if I'd been able to go out as part of a group, but from what I heard from a bunch of people in Tagaytay, the owner's boat cost 1,000 pesos less than renting it out at most places. The owner is also friends with the people at the volcano observatory, so you can get access to there too! My stay was a very refreshing break from jam-packed metro Manila :)

breath taking”
I was suppose to visit San Roque for 3 days but I ended up staying the last 10 days of my holiday. Family run business and all very accommodating and extremely helpful. I'm going back to this little part if paradise next year with my partner and taking my daughter and grandson with us. It truly was a picture paradise for me personally and supported by mama Lisa and her family perfectly. Felt welcomed and made to feel at home.

Fabulous location, Great food, intermittent service....”
We spent 2 nights at San Roque Paradise Resort on Lake Taal. It is potentially a wonderful resort hotel, but realistically the service and facilities were disappointing. However once we lowered our expectations in line with the low price we were paying, we thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. It is a group of mainly 2-storey buildings set in a gardens right on Lake Taal, with great views of the Volcano. The rooms are OK but have not been decorated or upgraded for some time. Aircon worked, bed was comfy, and once they turned on the water supply the shower and washing was ok. We ate at the hotel as the surrounding area is not developed and no tourist facilities unless you take a 20 min trike ride up to Tagaytay up a steep winding road through the forest (an adventure in itself). The food at the hotel was delicious. Follow-up service was hard to get as there was no way to contact of find staff. We took the trip to the volcano using the hotel's own boat - great experience.

a warm, quiet, family welcome”
San Roque is small, quiet and beautiful. Right on the shore of the lake. Lita and June took wonderful care of me, helping with directions to a local hike and giving me a lift into town when it was time to go. Very generous, thank you!

”
Surrounding garden of the place is truly a paradise and serves as a bonus to the Lake Taal behind the hotel. Very envigorating. Ronnie, one of the caretakers was good enough entertaining our questions. Such a respectful man. I chatted with the owner Normelita ( Lita in short) who was generous with info important for our enjoyment as her guests. I'm pretty sure we will be coming back for a longer stay.

Find somewhere else!”
The lady who runs the hotel is very charming and welcoming however our standard room was pretty sub-standard. Everything is outdated - the waste pipe from the sink was leaking - the shower & sink needed descaling - the refrigerator was in need of a good clean. Aside from the trip to the volcano (which was average) there's nothing else to do in the town with only limited amenities in Talisay which is a trike ride away. The 'San Roque' shuts down early - all the external lights were turned off at 7pm one evening and I had to go to a neighbouring property to find a member of staff. Not worth the trip.

Far from the Main City , But right near the Lake”
I stayed at the hotel for a couple of days, it was difficult to find at first. But a 300 Pesos Tri-cycle will take you there, which would be an issue if you are a budget traveller. Pros : Staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast is good, you need to pay for it though, its not complimentory. They have their own boat which will take you to Taal volcano. The view from the hotel is beautiful to say the least. Cons: Rooms are not great to brag about. Although the Furniture is good. Its far from the main city, so if you have to visit other places near the city you will need to spend a lot to travel from the hotel to Main road. Jeepnes available but they make a 30 minute trip up into a 1 hour trip one side. Would mostly visit again and recommend it for the view.

Great value and scenery! ”
Excellent stay there. The staff is very friendly and hospitable. The boat tour to the volcano is normally 2000PP but the owner gave me a discounted rate. The meals at this hotel will run around 300PP per head but you will not be disappointed. The food is delicious! Perfect place for romance lots of flowers and it is right on the lake, you'll catch an amazing sunset here! No pool? No problem, just jump in the lake and swim with the fish! We stayed one night and would definitely come back if I decide to visit the area again! Great value for the money!

Really nice hospitality, all staffs are gentle, helpful and friendly. I arrived around 23:00 late at night, but madam is really welcoming to me and detailed introduction for hotel and rooms. Nice to chill out. Hope visit there again.

Cheap and quiet getaway”
The price is reasonable considering that you have a great view of taal lake. While it may not have the same amenities of other resorts and hotels, it is certainly a quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The owner is friendly and accommodating who made sure we have everything we need.

Fantastic view friendly staff”
The view from my standard room here was fabulous. I could see right on to the lake from the balcony and as there was no one staying in the room next to me it felt like a private balcony. It's a short walk down to the lakeside where the views of the lake and volcano are wonderful. All the family members of staff I spoke to were very very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was prepared freshly and was taken wtih the view of the lake which was great. The room itself is quite basic but it wasn't really about the room for me. It did have lots of tv channels which was good as the sun was setting quite early! I would recommend you have your own transport if staying here though. I would not hestitate to stay here again.

What a joke!”
I had booked the room a month in advance to be sure and after hours of travelling by flight and in Philippines I arrived in front of San roque paradise hotel, only to find out that the owner is hosting a wedding and that I cannot stay the night in! She sent me to a cousin place. It was just not the same... When I wakup the next day they took me back to the hotel so I could go on the trip to the Vulcano. Here again I had to pay the normal rate despite the fact that I ve been frown away the night before. The owner seem to be nice but sorry no excuses for cancelling my reservation on the spot!

Great getaway ”
This inn on the shores of Lake Taal is away from the bustle and commercialism of Tagaytay town on the ridge above. While it isn't fancy, it is homey. The rooms have actual wood bed frames and real mattresses as if you were visiting someone's house. But you are going to hang out in the variety of outdoor spaces anyway! There are limited choices of food, but that's because it is fresh! Try the grilled tilapia from the lake-delicious! Lita arranged for a boat to the volcano right from the property at the going rate so there's no need to deal with touts. They can pack you a small lunch if you wish. It's a great escape from Manila for a weekend.

Away from the crowd”
The location can be accessed via tricycle from Tagaytay Rotonda for P 300. I just said the name of the hotel and the driver knew it right away. Awesome because I booked the standard room but was given the deluxe room. In the room, air-conditioner is working well, bathroom is spacious and clean but water pressure is a little low and heater was not functional. My room has wide windows that allows a fantastic view of Taal lake and volcano. If you want to hike Taal volcano, the hotel has their own boat that you can rent on your own or share with other guests at 2000 pesos. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The food is pricey. As I remember, one continental breakfast is around 300-350, corn soup is 40 pesos, mango shake is 75, and brewed coffee is 100 for one pitcher. Kuya staff(I forgot his name) happily attended to all my needs and even helped me call the tricycle to return to the Tagaytay Rotonda.

Good location, great staff ”
The hotel is a bit dated but homey. There weren't the usual supplies provided (towels, toiletries, etc.) so be sure to bring your own. We didn't mind though because the price of the room is very cheap. The location is very good with a fantastic view of the volcano, especially during sunset and sunrise. We had an entire "house" to ourselves since there weren't a lot of tourists at the time of our visit. It was just a bit hard to get meals because they didn't have anybody to cook and we had to go to the town to get something to eat. The owner was helpful in providing recommendations/directions though.

Great view, pricey food, accommodating staff”
Staff was accommodating, despite the issue with the dishonest Taal trek folks (which I don't believe is their fault). Only thing I strongly disliked about the stay was the price of food. A typical jumbo hotdog + one strip of bacon + 1 egg + 1 coffee + 1 glass of pineapple juice = 300 pesos?! Really?? Having no menu and just asking what food the guests want is kind of shrewd: because the price isn't given upfront, we had been kept in the dark regarding the exorbitant food prices until the period of payment. They don't have corkage fees, though, so the next time I stay with them, I'll just make sure to bring my own meal--or eat in the nearby town.
