Fabulous place to stay by the lake
Owner and staff very friendly and helpful. Boat trips to volcano from their own dock and cheaper than general ones. Lovely place to hang out in good weather. Good restaurant. Wifi ok though not in all rooms.

very good. needs improvements
Rustic type. The place could be better if managed propperly. Crrtain areas are in decline due to the owner not being able to walk around. The staff are mainly relatives. Who are just concerned of their salary. Conditions of the hotel will surely fall at a fast rate.

Fabulous location, Great food, intermittent service....
We spent 2 nights at San Roque Paradise Resort on Lake Taal. It is potentially a wonderful resort hotel, but realistically the service and facilities were disappointing. However once we lowered our expectations in line with the low price we were paying, we thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience. It is a group of mainly 2-storey buildings set in a gardens right on Lake Taal, with great views of the Volcano. The rooms are OK but have not been decorated or upgraded for some time. Aircon worked, bed was comfy, and once they turned on the water supply the shower and washing was ok. We ate at the hotel as the surrounding area is not developed and no tourist facilities unless you take a 20 min trike ride up to Tagaytay up a steep winding road through the forest (an adventure in itself). The food at the hotel was delicious. Follow-up service was hard to get as there was no way to contact of find staff. We took the trip to the volcano using the hotel's own boat - great experience.

Excellent rustic facilities marvellous views delicious home cooked dinners lots of tropical plants G
Great views of the volcano lake, excellent for swimming in the lake. The owner's son has a bangka to take you to the volcano Island. A huge variety of tropical plants all over the grounds add a very delightful atmosphere and character to the place. Nothing on the street so advisable to eat all meals at the resort which are delicious and home cooked anyway. Lots of shade from the sun when needed.

Cheap and quiet getaway
The price is reasonable considering that you have a great view of taal lake. While it may not have the same amenities of other resorts and hotels, it is certainly a quiet place to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. The owner is friendly and accommodating who made sure we have everything we need.

Far from the Main City , But right near the Lake
I stayed at the hotel for a couple of days, it was difficult to find at first. But a 300 Pesos Tri-cycle will take you there, which would be an issue if you are a budget traveller. Pros : Staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast is good, you need to pay for it though, its not complimentory. They have their own boat which will take you to Taal volcano. The view from the hotel is beautiful to say the least. Cons: Rooms are not great to brag about. Although the Furniture is good. Its far from the main city, so if you have to visit other places near the city you will need to spend a lot to travel from the hotel to Main road. Jeepnes available but they make a 30 minute trip up into a 1 hour trip one side. Would mostly visit again and recommend it for the view.

Surrounding garden of the place is truly a paradise and serves as a bonus to the Lake Taal behind the hotel. Very envigorating. Ronnie, one of the caretakers was good enough entertaining our questions. Such a respectful man. I chatted with the owner Normelita ( Lita in short) who was generous with info important for our enjoyment as her guests. I'm pretty sure we will be coming back for a longer stay.
