A quiet paradise”
If you are looking for a quiet, wild and lovely place, this is it! This is clean, the couple that owns the place are really quiet and friendly and make excellent food, quality laundry if you need too, can call for drivers to pick you to a near attraction (boat trip, scuba diving), and so on. The place is isolated, so you will need, either to rent a scooter (we arrived by train from bang saphan yai, asked the first person we met, and he took us to the restaurant next to the train station so we could rent a scooter for 300 bhat/24h, then it was a 20 min drive), or if you can spend more, there are many taxi/drivers, from the resort, or with the grab app. Then it's freedom! This is the purest form of Thailand's wild south. The beaches are totally empty, wild and beautiful, almost like in a desert island. If you drive 3 min south (or even walk on the beach) you'll find the exceptional red cliffs. (I walked naked there, to feel even wilder, as there was nobody, except a few wild dogs, lizards, birds, snakes, tigers? ... hehe) There is a 7/eleven within a 7 min drive, and many other hidden restaurants and shop. There are also plenty of small treasures to find, like rivers, waterfall, temples, beach moutains, fisher's village with awesome on the go food, etc. I recomend this place to any person that likes to feel free, and discover local thai life. If you only like 5 stars hotel with swimming pool and cocktails, maybe this place isn't for you. Or should you try? 😉

A really enjoyable stay. Great food .!!”
The friendly guy on reception was expecting me when I arrived. He could speak good English and checked me in efficiently. The room was very spacious, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The air conditioning was nice and cool. I like the balcony with views towards the beach which was at the bottom of the garden. The best aspect of my visit was the food. Delicious..!! There was lots of choice on the menu and I of for chicken and ginger with rice. It came with other vegetables too. For breakfast I chose the tomato and onion omelette. Spot on. Plenty of other choices too for breakfast. Thanks for a great stay.

A stop over at Sunuwan Beach”
Very private beach, sweet staff people on hand, and comfortable surroundings. The lady cooked up a delicious meal for dinner. No one was on the beach, so I was able to find beautiful huge shells of sorts, but there was lots of trash washed up on shore that needed to be picked up. I had to change rooms because of the musty smell, but my new room was fine. Off the main road quite a ways, but truly a worthwhile trip for peacefulness.

Relaxing, untouristy place”
This is a simple place but we really enjoyed our 3 days here. The staff were very lovely and very accommodating...even when we woke them at 5am with some travel problems! The family room we had was comfortable and clean. The only unfortunate part is the rubbish on the beach. Though the staff keep the beach in the front of the property mostly clear, there is a lot of rubbish along the rest of the beach. It's rubbish that has been thrown in by the sea, so it's not 'dirty', it's just not pretty. However, we'd already spent a lot of time in the more touristy beaches of Thailand and were happy with this more relaxed, local experience. (Also no jellyfish that we encountered.) We enjoyed watching groups fishing for shrimp from the beach as well.

Perfect homestay style for 1 night”
We arrived just as the sun was setting, had only booked that afternoon. Staff friendly and cooked dinner for us. No beer but they were willing to go and get some. Saw sunrise from room and then beach. Beach not the nicest but if you are using this as a stopover either heading north or south it is perfect.

Big room, decent value”
Big room, decent value, bit remote though so you need a car. Beach is not really a swimming beach, it ok for a walk.

An overnight stay while on the road”
This place is cute and has its charm. It was ok as an overnight stay whilst travelling but nothing I would consider staying long at. The staff where very nice and service minded. If you want an old school feeling for your lodging this is your place.

Worst experience.. toilet outdoor, lots of mosquitoes and surrounding not clean.”
No freeze in the room, toilet outdoor, lots of mosquitoes. Its ordinary guest house. The picture of rooftop is rented by foreigners on monthly basis, fishy why they want to stay at such remote places, escaping from whom? This place is for bag packers. Nothing around. I will rate 1 star and worth 400 baht per night. Stay away from such place if u don't want dengue or malaria. Lastly owner is so stingy .

Snorkeling at Koh Talu”
I was going snorkeling at the coral reefs outside Koh Talu and needed a place to stay overnight. Sananwan Beach is conveniently located 15 minutes away from the pier on the motorbike. This beautifully secluded house is located just at the beach overviewing the ocean. The two people in the staff were both from Myanmar, didn't speak English, were smiling and very helpful, excellent cooks and created a very cosy atmosphere. The boss was in constant telephone contact with us at my arrival and made sure everything worked out, gave me a free upgrade of the room, booked the snorkeling boat etc. After having checked out the truly authentic Ban Saphan Noi village close by, I had a delicious supper at Sananwan Beach. To the picture belongs that at Sananwan a retired American from Arizona stayed for free against taking care of the property, fixing the house etc. He was a a good sport and we had a great evening, supper and conversation together! The early cooked breakfast set me up for a colourful snorkeling experience!

absolutely fantastic”
our stay at sananwan beach was outstanding.it is the best i have ever experienced during 25+ years of travel throughout south east asia.we were picked up at the local railway station very promptly as arranged.on arrival we were made to feel like we virtually owned the property. nothing was to much and the staff gai and go who do everything were so friendly and helpful.we originally booked for 3 days bot then returned and rented the spa room with ocean views for nearly another 2 weeks.the food was 10/10 and very reasonably priced and freshly purchased at the local market daily.everything was so clean.we could tell gai what we wanted to eat the next day and she would buy it and cook it for us for only a small cooking few the food was at virtually market cost price.they have a very new motorcycle that is only 200 baht per day.there is a sea kayak and lots of other beach sport items that are for your use free of charge.the beach is lovely and clean and is about 120 mtrs from your room.the restaurant is very casual and is open all day and into the night.the beer is cold as well as great coconut juice, fresh and cheap.we were lucky to meet the owner who is a very nice and helpful lady who also owns a nice airport hotel in bangkok with her english husband.again nothing was too much for her and she took me to buy some food items and wine at the tescos lotus 25+kms away in her luxury mercedes at no cost or obligation.the spa room as well as the other rooms are excellent both clean and very homely.it is a very private and wonderful place to spend ones vacation as it is exceptional good value and the fact the staff are so friendly, helpful and professional in how they run the place that it is very sad when it is time to leave.we have a little 5 mths baby girl and the love, care and attention the staff showed was truly from the heart.they also let us use a baby walking chair and the many hammocks also made it easy to let baby sleep while we relaxed.everything was excellent.

relaxing, secluded, friendly staff and great food,”
We had wonderful time at the Sananwan Beach. A great value for money, and also what became even more and more difficult to find along coastal Thailand - a famous Thai hospitality, a genuine, not a commercial type. Live-in staff, Thai couple, really made us feel like a house guest regardless some communication problem – their English is very limited, but any communication problem we had was easily solved by Bangkok-based management accessible virtually any time by just a phone call. There is a lot of things we found really enjoyable during our stay – deserted and secluded great stretch of sandy beach - all yours for swim or walk, breathtaking view of Koh Thalu (we took a boat tour for snorkelling, it was fun!), large and very nicely appointed rooms for a great price. The house is clean and just a few steps to the beach. Also food was delicious. As we like to make our own decision on our menu we bought sea food and fresh vegetables at the local markets and Gai (the hostess) cooked it for us the way we like. Don’t expect any crazy nigh life – it’s very tranquil and rustic place, although one can find some bars and karaoke clubs at a short ride to close-by towns but we are not in for this type of entertainment. Being bit adventurous we found many unique attractions in the area like waterfalls, temples, ancient gold mine, and we also had a great time chilling out with a cup of tea and a book in a beach pavilion on stilts right above the tide. Overall – it was an aithentic Thai experience, highly recommended if you are looking for a relaxed vacation time.

Very nice homestay run by a friendly owner”
Although the B&B was slightly difficult to find in the darkness of the evening hours, I believe the owner can arrange a pickup for those guests that require it. After arriving, we thought it would be too late for dinner, but lucky for us the kitchen was still open and we had a very nice meal and chatted with the owner Kai (Wilaiwan). In the morning, we had a nice breakfast of our choice (included in the room price) and then went to buy some fresh crabs nearby driving one of the motorcycles normally available for rent for free, which was a nice gesture from the owner. Swimming at the wide sandy beach, full of coconut palms and a couple of scattered villas nearby was very nice. Snorkelling equipment and a canoe are all available for guests to use freely. This B&B is a nice option for breaking up a longer journey between Bangkok and southern Thailand or Malaysia or as a destination in itself.

Great place to relax and meet interesting people”
The villa is run by a lady who does virtually everything. She cooks well and is very friendly. She has been very helpful when I have stayed at Sananwan B & B. There was no one apart from me staying when I booked this time. Normally it is a good place to bump into fellow travelers. The villa has many "chill out" areas, like tables and chairs on the many balconies and sun loungers. The beach is a couple of minutes away and deserted apart from fisher men in the morning.

Quite beach, clean room, atmostphere”
I traveling around Thailand almost 7 years. Sananwan beach is the best vocation of my travel. The beach absalutely clean and quite no one around. The food was great. The room I stayed very clean and tidy. The staff make me feel like at home. The market not to far to buy your own seafood to cook by yourself at the kitchen the resort provide. I was kayaking around and it's free! . They also organise the snokelling trip for me the next they. I really wish I could stay longer. My next trip to the south will definitely Sananwan beach only.

Quiet very relaxing environment Close to the beach”
We enjoyed the loneliness and peacefulness of the resort Not many tourists were nearby You could walk along the beach for hours without meeting any tourist We recommend hiring a car as the hotel is quiet far away from Bang Saphan Noi and Yai. The staff and her team are the heart and soul of Sananwan Beach; but honestly they need more support in the hotel At least one more member should be part of the crew Both are working night and day Thank you for the delicious crabs !
