Great service and location, but needs a facelift.”

We enjoyed the ocean view, the staff was super friendly and helpful, the breakfast was average, the suite was clean and the bed slept great!

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Sand Sea Resort and Spa. It was our first visit to Koh Samui, and we stayed here based on a friend's previous experience. Our Jr. Suite was an adequate space and we were pleased for the most part. However, our teenage son and a friend, stayed in one of the bungalows and they are in need of a facelift!!! Very damp/stale smell to it, and they were placed at the very back of the property, when it appeared that other bungalows were available and closer to the pool/ocean areas.

Good location close to the beach”

We had a nice room in the garden for a nice price, the breakfast had pretty good variation, the ease of taking the hotels transfer to the airport.

Sand Sea is in fact a hotel close to the sand and sea, which was great in our case. The personnel were friendly and understood English pretty well. The Spa part we didn't really understood though, but it really wasen't a matter in our case. We recommend Sand Sea for couples who like to have a good time in Samui, not too far from shopping and nice food. Good place, good price, good environment!

Great spot by the beach!”

A lovely, spacious resort with kind and helpful staff. Everything was clean and tidy, the pool was great, and the restaurant food was delicious. Breakfast was included with a variety of options available. Location was great, close to the markets and other restaurants, but not too busy that it felt crowded. The beach was beautiful and clear and while you could easily swim right in front of the resort, there were also some great spots down the beach a bit. The resort had massage available right by the beach - definitely recommend trying these! I actually couldn't fault Sand Surf - we had a Junior Garden Suite which was very spacious, but I would probably get a room with a balcony right by the beach next time.

Great place to stay for families!”

Staff is extremely friendly, nice pool for swimming
the sea in front of the hotel has a lot of seaweed and is not really conducive for swimming

We really loved this resort. It was great for the amount of money that we spent. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They loved our baby and treated him as though he was one of their own children. The restaurant had a wide variety of dishes and was reasonably priced for the area. The sea out in front of the hotel was a bit murky and not the best for swimming. We walked down the beach 100 meters and swam there. The swimming pool at this resort was very nice, however, and located right on the ocean, so that made up for the murky waters of the sea.

We had a very nice stay at Sand Sea Resort. The staff was really fantastic and the prices in the hotel bar and restaurant is very affordable. Pool area is fine and nice for children, and the hotel is close to a lot of little shops , restaurants and massage places.

great massage by the sea

we extended two nights in Sand Sea resort with extremely low price on agoda. I have to say that it was wonderful experience with the massage by the sea. The counter was very nice to help us to check different tour provider for the price and pick up time. Also suggest us to buy our own fishing tools and try our luck on the beach. My hubby even caught the few fish and squid.

Bungalow on the beach”

Waking up to hear the waves lapping at the beach was lovely. Breakfast was the standard fare you will get at most Thai resorts/hotels that include breakfast which as expected and I have no complaints. A short walk along the beach to the middle of Lamai and the helpful staff delivered a brand new scooter within half an hour of asking. There was a little bit of drama when leaving but that was all weather related and nothing to do with the resort. The beach side bungalows would be a bit small if you had 2 people staying in them though so you may want to consider a larger room. All in all, would stay again.

Located in a tropical garden with direct access to the beach, very clean, nice and helpful staff. ”

This resort still retains the spirit and beauty of Samui on the unfortunately overbuilding of Lamai Beach. Resting in your bungalow you can hear the waves and listen to the birds. The Bungalows are in a nice and well maintained garden and very clean. On the beach you still cab rest in the shadow of the trees.

Value for your money ”

Ok I have spent probably around 3 months of my life in this hotel over the last couple of years. It’s fair to say it’s very good value for money. Beech front bungalow for £18 including breakfast you can’t really go wrong. The food is decent and well priced and the staff are amazing. Probably over staffed to be honest. Which is not a bad thing at all for the customer. The hotel is rite on the beach and only 10 minuet walk from lamai center. Best bang for your buck in Samui 100%

We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights and it was amazing! The room was very clean and spacious. Food servings were generous for the price. Staff were accommodating. The entire resort, including the pool, were well maintained. And they have their own scooters available for rent. Would recommend this place to couples.

we stayed here for just two days. the hotel is right on the beach with beautiful rooms in a beuwtiful garden. there is a nice pool but we spend most of our time on the nice beach in front of the hotel. the center of lamai is also close by and we spend some time in the evenings in lamai for shopping.

Convenient location, great bungalows, close to ocean

Loved this little resort. Samui is very busy and this place is self sufficient so there is no need to leave is you don't want to. I spent a lot of time by the pool listening to the ocean. Staff was great. Food was a little over priced compared to establishments near by. Would return.

1 min walk to beach and spa by the beach

We enjoyed our honeymoon here with reasonable price for a junior suite facing the sea. My favorite is its nice spa by the beach, the girls there are very experienced, and provide the high quality service. I've done 3 massage there for 3 days. It's a pity that the pool was under contraction during our stay.

The bungalows are old style but I liked it very much cause had the charm of the traditional thai style. Directly on the beach and with a nice swimming pool and restaurant and with a lot of plants arround. Very very nice staff, so smiling and gentle, not easy to find in other places of Thailand. Samui keeps the ancient way of the nature, food and people.

Nicely located in a tropical garden you wake up hearing the waves. You still can lie in the shadow of trees on the beach. Many restaurants and shops around the area. Lamai center is in walking distance. Unfortunately Samui has become quite polluted.

beach, swimming pool, location

We stayed in the standard garden view chalet. The room is clean and the bathroom is very big that we can dance in it. There is a small jaccuzi pool in the bathroom but we have no time to fill up with water and enjoy. Nice pool by the beach and the restaurant serves good food. Try the seafood fried rice! Big prawns and lots of crab meat in it! It is also close to the Sunday night market and the busy Lamai walking street.

The resort is a little tired but it is very clean. Staff really made it for us, so friendly and a were great at entertaining our 20 month old. Bungalows have sunken bath which was good for the little one. The pool is fantastic. Located on quiet part of Lanai but only a short walk from the centre of town. Restaurant has an extensive menu and everything we ate was very good. Would definitely recommend staying here
