This beachfront resort on north Lamai Beach offers a perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. The property is located on the northern and less crowded end of Lamai Beach, yet is only a leisurely 10-minute stroll from the beach’s main resort area full of bars, restaurants, shops, and other amenities. The resort also backs onto the main road, making it easy to hail a taxi or minibus to Chaweng Beach for a day of shopping or a night of fun. Sand Sea Resort & Spa features beachfront bungalows with balconies overlooking the beach as well as modern guestrooms overlooking the resort’s swimming pool and garden area, only a few steps from the beachfront. With a friendly staff, fantastic location, and good southern hospitality, Sand Sea Resort & Spa offers it all.

Great stay everything perfect ”
Fantastic location. Room was huge very clean . Friendly helpful staff . Terrific stay
Friendly staff, good location ”
Decent hotel overall. We stayed in a superior room which was very large with a huge bathroom however the bed was extremely hard. The pool needs some repairs but useable. The restaurant and breakfast were good. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and bars.
Good value resort on the beach”
It's been a few yrs since I visited Samui, but this is definitely a place I'd return to. Facilities in my bungalow were good, cleaned each day. TV channels were ok, HBO would have been nice. I looked at the restaurant menu, but it was a bit high for me. There are two good cafes out on the main road. They were building a new wing of accommodation as I left. Don't bother with Chaweng - it's a dump.
Right at the beach”
The bungalows are old style but I liked it very much cause had the charm of the traditional thai style. Directly on the beach and with a nice swimming pool and restaurant and with a lot of plants arround. Very very nice staff, so smiling and gentle, not easy to find in other places of Thailand. Samui keeps the ancient way of the nature, food and people.
resort on the beach that near to town”
We stayed in the standard garden view chalet. The room is clean and the bathroom is very big that we can dance in it. There is a small jaccuzi pool in the bathroom but we have no time to fill up with water and enjoy. Nice pool by the beach and the restaurant serves good food. Try the seafood fried rice! Big prawns and lots of crab meat in it! It is also close to the Sunday night market and the busy Lamai walking street.
Located in a tropical garden with direct access to the beach, very clean, nice and helpful staff. ”
This resort still retains the spirit and beauty of Samui on the unfortunately overbuilding of Lamai Beach. Resting in your bungalow you can hear the waves and listen to the birds. The Bungalows are in a nice and well maintained garden and very clean. On the beach you still cab rest in the shadow of the trees.
Value for your money ”
Ok I have spent probably around 3 months of my life in this hotel over the last couple of years. It’s fair to say it’s very good value for money. Beech front bungalow for £18 including breakfast you can’t really go wrong. The food is decent and well priced and the staff are amazing. Probably over staffed to be honest. Which is not a bad thing at all for the customer. The hotel is rite on the beach and only 10 minuet walk from lamai center. Best bang for your buck in Samui 100%
Very impressive bathtube and interested shower where seperate from bedroom”
Destiny has taken me to there
A very nice stay”
We had a very nice stay at Sand Sea Resort. The staff was really fantastic and the prices in the hotel bar and restaurant is very affordable. Pool area is fine and nice for children, and the hotel is close to a lot of little shops , restaurants and massage places.
Great spot by the beach!”
A lovely, spacious resort with kind and helpful staff. Everything was clean and tidy, the pool was great, and the restaurant food was delicious. Breakfast was included with a variety of options available. Location was great, close to the markets and other restaurants, but not too busy that it felt crowded. The beach was beautiful and clear and while you could easily swim right in front of the resort, there were also some great spots down the beach a bit. The resort had massage available right by the beach - definitely recommend trying these! I actually couldn't fault Sand Surf - we had a Junior Garden Suite which was very spacious, but I would probably get a room with a balcony right by the beach next time.
Perfect quiet location for families”
The resort is a little tired but it is very clean. Staff really made it for us, so friendly and a were great at entertaining our 20 month old. Bungalows have sunken bath which was good for the little one. The pool is fantastic. Located on quiet part of Lanai but only a short walk from the centre of town. Restaurant has an extensive menu and everything we ate was very good. Would definitely recommend staying here
Bungalow on the beach”
Waking up to hear the waves lapping at the beach was lovely. Breakfast was the standard fare you will get at most Thai resorts/hotels that include breakfast which as expected and I have no complaints. A short walk along the beach to the middle of Lamai and the helpful staff delivered a brand new scooter within half an hour of asking. There was a little bit of drama when leaving but that was all weather related and nothing to do with the resort. The beach side bungalows would be a bit small if you had 2 people staying in them though so you may want to consider a larger room. All in all, would stay again.
We stayed here for 4 days and 3 nights and it was amazing! The room was very clean and spacious. Food servings were generous for the price. Staff were accommodating. The entire resort, including the pool, were well maintained. And they have their own scooters available for rent. Would recommend this place to couples.
Great spot ”
Loved this little resort. Samui is very busy and this place is self sufficient so there is no need to leave is you don't want to. I spent a lot of time by the pool listening to the ocean. Staff was great. Food was a little over priced compared to establishments near by. Would return.
Below Average. Pool area the nice part.”
The room is big but dark and smelly, certainly not well maintained. Restaurant is very pricy compares to nearby local eatery so not worth to pay to eat there. Breakfast slection is very basic only. Staff attitude are not so friendly. Overall I would have prefer to stay in another hotel like Fair House which I stayed earlier.
Warmth & Serene”
we love the place as we stepped in the hotel. the place is surrounded by nature - lots of greens & near the beach. although our room is a bit old but it was well-kept and clean. a short walk to town through a bridge near the beach on the right side of the hotel. my only advise is to prepare own mosquito repellent, you might need it at times.
budget holiday with nice sea view and spa”
we extended two nights in Sand Sea resort with extremely low price on agoda. I have to say that it was wonderful experience with the massage by the sea. The counter was very nice to help us to check different tour provider for the price and pick up time. Also suggest us to buy our own fishing tools and try our luck on the beach. My hubby even caught the few fish and squid.
The bungalow rooms here are a bit old but they have a new 4 storey building which offers newer rooms. The beach here is more quiet and private compared to other hotels along the same stretch. Overall, a very good experience staying here.
Pleasant Resort on quiet Whit- Sand Beach”
the resort is fine, but a bit dated & in need of refurbishing. our jr. ste. by the pool was comfortable & spacious with a large refurbished shower/ bath room ( jacussi tub & walk-in shower). restaurant staff are excellent, but the food is mediocre. we had a glitch with trying to receive flight reservations & tickets by fax from our bangkok travel agent: for two days the staff claimed they had not received the fax (sent several times). they appeared to have been "lost" by the office mgr. we're not 100% sure. however, all in all, location is excellent & staff obliging.
