“Disappointing Experience for the Cost”
I recently stayed at Sandals Barbados from August 22nd to August 26th, 2024, and, unfortunately, my experience did not live up to my expectations given the high cost of the stay. While I opted for a swim-out room with butler service, several issues severely impacted the quality of my vacation. The room itself had a strong, unpleasant odor, like mildew, as if it had been previously flooded. The shower tiles were dingy, and overall, the room did not meet the cleanliness standards I expected from a resort of this caliber. Throughout my stay, service was inconsistent. At several restaurants, the wait for food was excessively long. Staff at the coffee shop and even the gift shop greeted us with attitudes rather than hospitality, making us feel more like a burden than valued guests. Housekeeping also fell short—clean towels and washcloths were unavailable for a day and a half due to supply issues. Additionally, the entertainment was underwhelming, and many areas of the resort closed too early in the evening for an adults-only setting. Dining at Kimono, the Hibachi restaurant, was uncomfortable as the air conditioning wasn’t working, and the servers were dismissive of our concerns. While there were some positives, including the helpfulness of our butler Archie, the overall experience did not justify the price. I would not recommend Sandals Barbados for those seeking a high-quality luxury vacation, as I feel that I did not receive value for the money spent.
