One of the best resorts i have stayed in”
Sandoway, blew me away. It was our second choice having seen it rated on Trip Advisor after Amazing Ngapali, but after our exp at Amazing Bagan glad we went for this- lucky as Amazing Ngapali had no reservations! Sandoway is about 8km from the airport so at least a 15-20min drive in the slow bus. But worth it. Superbly set out, with beach cottages set out in a grid across the grounds. The sea was warm! The main lobby has not been set as the main piece like most hotels but the bar / restaurant is the show piece overlooking the beach. The beach is wonderful great views, warm and the sand is smooth, you can walk for miles. The food is great, breakfast is of high class, and the main meals and desserts really show the class of Sandoway. The pool is wonderful overlooking the beach with a bar / library allowing you look relax. There is a pharmacy across the road if you happen to fall ill. The beach cottages are big, huge bathroom, great shower, and the upstairs level has the beat and a chill out area to relax. Well made and well laid out cottage, with a front chill out area overlooking the beach. All in all great experience, and an amazing place to relax. All i have to say is, you'd never have know, Myanmar has beaches this good.

Amazing”
My friends and I ended our Myanmar trip at this resort in Ngapali Beach. We were blown away by the facilities and the customer service. This hotel is truly exceptional. The dining area is stunning, and as a vegan, they were able to accommodate me, and remembered me at every meal so I didn't have to always bring up my dietary restrictions. In fact, they started making things for me off menu for the breakfast - even though I found the breakfast menu to be just fine. The hotel has a lovely pool, and they float paper lanterns in it at night. Another lovely touch was that the beach chairs are assigned to your room, so you never had to worry about getting some shade on the beach. They also provide beach service, where you just had to raise this little flag on your umbrella, and a staff member would come and take your order. Little things like this just made our experience that much better. 100% recommend. As for the beach, it was very beautiful and the water was a great temperature.

Beautiful setting”
We had a wonderful stay at Sandoway - the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful (though service was at times slow in the restaurant). The setting on Ngapali beach is beautiful, the spa was divine and the food delicious. We loved having our own little cottage though it was a little dated and not quite as comfortable as it could be. It was also not ideal for children with open stairs. The pool looked amazing but was too cold to use much (and certainly too cold for our infant which was a shame). The food was also very limited by the pool and beach. I would wholeheartedly recommend this resort to couples looking for a romantic getaway but it is perhaps not ideal for young families.

Excellent beach resort”
On the upside, the room and the facilities in general are of great taste and conditions. A perfect beach resort for enjoying Ngapali Beach during the day and at night with a drink. It is at only a 10 mins walk from the restaurants found also on the beach where one can taste the famous seafood. The staff is very kind and professional. On the downside, we found the charging of all non complementary services quite high (spa, food, trips).

Simply wonderful”
This hotel is simply wonderful. It occupies probably the best spot on Ngapali Beach. However, what makes this hotel so good is the team that runs it. The staff are very friendly and could not have done more to help. Nothing seemed too much bother, even the strangest requests - and we stayed with our 8-month old daughter, so we had a few! We loved our cottage. It had a very homely feel. It was completely finished in teak - except for the marble bathrooms which my wife loved. We cannot speak highly enough about SandowayResort and have already started recommending it to our friends.

Very pleasant resort with a superb location”
We stayed in the Sandoway Resort for three nights. Everything was perfect. The houses are very nice decorated and very convenient. The beach is very beautiful and good to swim or walk. There are a few restaurants nearby in walking distance along the beach or the street. We enjoyed the food and location of the Angel Restaurant located directly on the beach. You can get there in maybe 10-15 minutes walk on the beach. The restaurants across the street are also nice with good and simple food.

Beautiful Resort on Gorgeous Beach in Ngapali”
We (married couple) stayed in a beach front villa and the accommodations were first class. Beach was pristine with very small crowds. Beach and water absolutely perfect and clean, spent hours just relaxing, swimming and floating around. Beautiful pool and restaurant. Moved to Singapore 5 years ago from Southern California beach cities where we lived for 20 years. We’ve traveled extensively through Asia/SE Asia, and Ngapali is a great place to come and experience a very chill, relaxing few days in paradise without all the tourist crowds.

The villa we stayed in was superb, beautiful traditional styling, good atmosphere and great position”
Hotel is very nice and staff is great, helpful and friendly. On easy walking distance there are a number of small, family restaurants that we enjoyed using for dinner. On the down side, Ngapali seems to have a real problem with their waste management, including the nearby fishing village that dumps much of their trash directly on the beach. As a result the sea is littered with plastics and trash during high tide as well as that the beach becomes littered. I guess a problem that requires long term solutions. The hotel an maybe help a bit by posting trash baskets outside of each villa and promtion of a clean sea and beach!

Best place to stay! Had an amazing time! ”
The management and service is excellent. They think about details from interior to service which truly makes this place unique in Myanmar. The breakfast is great and the food in general good (for Myanmar excellent ;-). The pool, sandy beach and the whole setting with lots of palm trees and beautiful cottages is just perfect! Would definitely stay here again! Also walked along the beach and Sandoway looked the best! The cottages are lovely, the deluxe rooms too but those can get little noisy in the morning. As a side note: at this part of the beach, the beach is nice and sandy, other parts of nagapali beach can be rocky.

Excellent”
A great place for families, shady kids pool connected to the large pool, beautiful landscape and stunning view from breakfast place. I find it a little strange they don't provide toothbrush and toothpaste, no room service except beach service between 11am to 5pm. On top of that no TV but there is a cinema where nobody would bother to go. Breakfast is okay but if you are after Asian or Burmese breakfast, this is not the one. They serve very strange mont hinn khar cooked with chicken called Sandoway mont hinn khar, the first day it was served with egg noodle and on second day it was served with rice noodle. Funny thing was they tried to charge four years old for breakfast. They charge $7 per person for transportation from the airport. I think people wouldn't mind paying a little extra in their room charges if their bus service is complimentary. They tried to charge $7 for four years old too which I was not happy to pay, ended up paying half price anyway.

Very nice resort”
We stayed three nights in Sandoway in a beachfront villa as part of our honeymoon. We had a great time, we particularly appreciated the location, the architecture of the hotel that is local and charming with a lot of wood and nice lighting, beautiful landscaping, and above all the quality of the food and the beautiful restaurant terrace. I feel for the price paid some facilities such as the bikes and watersports could be free and guests would not be required to pay a security deposit and have to go to the reception to do any paperwork. Music system in the room is obsolete. But apart from these very little details the experience is very nice.

one of the best beaches I have been to”
We were met at the airport and taken to the hotel in the Sandoway bus, which was great start to our holiday. I could not fault this hotel on service, quality of rooms, staff friendliness, or location. It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay. The beach was quiet - we were at the end of the season - it is true, but there can never be more than about 100 people due to the size of the hotel. We will be going back

Long weekend getaway”
The resort is absolutely stunning- SE Asia's finest. The staff were extremely personable and skilled at their work and no attention to detail was spared. Several family-run restaurants in walking distance where we feasted on grilled seafood (for the times when you want to deviate from the pricy but delicious pasta at the resort). We just loved staying at the Sandoway!

Nice but expensive ”
The Sandoway is a lovely resort , the beach is amazing, the food is great and the rooms are delightful. My only issue is I could not help feeling like I was being taken advantage of, everything seemed to cost extra- for example there was no free water at the pool, their transfer was $9 a person to the airport when a taxi is $9 for the car and the mountain bikes where $7. I realise this is a prefence thing but the charging for every small extra thing removes the feeling of relaxation for me! Purhaps just charge a small amount more for your rooms and drop the extra bits

Beautiful and relaxing”
Our stay at the Sandoway was beautiful! We were lucky enough to get upgraded to a beach front willa which was absolutely beautiful and the view was breathtaking. We found the staff to be pleasant, the hotel's amenities and facilities to be fantastically upkept and really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Make sure to try everything on the breakfast menu.
