Sanmin District hotels & places to stay

The place was a bit old but it was really clean!! The bed was so comfy and the air-conditioner works perfectly fine (cool and nice in the room) The staffs were so friendly and let me to stored my luggage before the check-in time :) And the location was so closed to Kaohsiung train station which gives this good place another extra points :) 7-11 is located beside the hostel. Everything is perfect so don’t hesitate to make the booking!

I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and well-kept this hostel was. I have stayed in 50+ hostels during my lifetime and this was possibly the cleanest. The rooms were big and there was a curtain for enhanced privacy. It is easy to find and super close to the train station. The boss was very kind and let me leave my bike and clothes inside all day. Recommended to all and I would jump at the chance to stay there again!

I booked a double bed and a single bed in mixed dorminority room here. It's just 2 minutes walk from the hostel to Houyi MRT station. The room was clean. There're lockers opened with electronic card which is also room key. The common room was fulled of convenient utensils, namely microwave, toaster oven, spoons, knives, scissors, forks, etc. The shared bathroom has 4 or 5 pretty large cabins along with hair dryers. The most important is our double bed has city view - that's great to see Kaohsiung city from 6th floor of the building that the hostel is located.

Business oriented hotel with excellent staff, nice facilities, decent (although nothing fancy) breakfast including Taiwanese food and excellent staff. Rooms are very clean, spacious, and comfortable all for a great price especially considering food is included (we also travelled during slower season and they had the best rates around). A small detail I particularly liked was that they offered cleansing milk which is less harsh for face and hand washing. Of all the places we stayed in Taiwan (shuffled back and forth from Kaoshiung to Taipei) we preferred Kiwi hands down for overall bang-for-buck.

Ruei Gung is near by Kaohsiung main station where is the central of transportation. So it was very easy to go around kaohsiung. It took time about 3 minutes by walking. And for the transportation , it's not just the Mrt and City bus ,but including Tour shuttle bus for going the place where you couldn't take MRT to go there. For the hotel, it's not bad if you compare with the price, because it's very cheap. Even thought the information officer couldn't speak English with me but they were trying hard to communicate. The bath rooom is okay, clean, and complete apparatus. Bed room is great, soften, and large. The wifi is very slow, maybe because of there were have many people in that day and I was stay at the seventh floor also. If you ask My opinion, Rueigung gung is proper hotel for Backpacker.

Its cheap especially in qing Ming festival when I booked. There is a language barrier but staff are helpful and cheerful. Can clean room at any time... The room and bathroom are big and tidy. My window was large and had a good street view. Its 5 minutes walk to station if that is important. Downside The room is a little tired. The bed is hard..good for some not others. Its a sleazy area. Its not a hotel for families. Right now there's construction downstairs. Air seems a bit dusty too..

the da chien hotel is an easy 5-10 minute walk from main station and easy to find. there is food on the side streets and on the parallel street - lots of options that are really close. also if you are up for a walk you can get to many places just by walking, otherwise the subway is close by. the staff was very friendly upon arrival and throughout our stay. the rooms were perfect for our travel, not a 5 star out of budget place, but not a bad place. the rooms were comfortable and big. upon arrival they gave us a better room with a huge bathtub without even asking for it. overall is was perfect for the 3 nights we were there.

Staff is VERY attentive. It's located right across the street from the Kaohsiung Main Train Station (not the High Speed) and adjacent metro (MRT) station and three bus terminals ... but is also right next to a busy main road that crosses OVER the rails. The overpass runs right by the hotel, and is noisy late into the night. Rooms are clean, old and VERY slow to get hot water. Free breakfast, but barely edible, delivered to the room i a little plastic bag. Bedding was good. Shower head was fairly new and worked well. It is walking distance to the famous Liuhe Night Market (across the tracks via foot bridge).

We booked this hotel in last minutes and after the meal we reached hotel in 00:30 something so we getting ready in short and go to bed once we reach our room since that day I was having a severe migraine. Surprisingly we were putting in shock until 3 something in the middle of night that fire alarm fill in the small room and we are soundly sleeping. On the spot we call to the front desk but no one answering so we decide to escape to prevent something bad happen. Lastly we was told this is not a real fire alarm but there is a customers who smoke in room. Seriously for the one who smoke in room? Don't you have any common sense and there is no any sorry words heard from the customer! I won't blame this accident to the hotel but please at least teach all your workers how to off the fire alarm in case this accident happen again. the fire alarm continue for some times after we know that is no fire happen. The sound in the middle of night is really worse that a nightmare.

I booked this hotel mainly for its vicinity to my bridal shop in Kaohsiung, but it happened to be a wonderful stay for my husband and I. Like what other reviewers had mentioned, they provide free shuttle service to and fro Kaohsiung Main Station until 11 pm. You may call them from station and they are ever ready to pick you up! Breakfast is one major factor why my husband didn't mind waking up early every day. There is a variety of dishes cooked tastily, and their chef made effort to change their menu every day. They serve the best juicy scrambled eggs we've ever had! Room is clean, spacious and comfortable even for standard room. (p.s. Snacks and drinks you found in the room is FOC!) One of the nights we changed to a room with big Jacuzzi bath tub, and we felt like our mini honeymoon has just begun! lol We would like to commend the morning front desk staffs Agnes, Wendi, and another guy (forgot to take note of your name), and afternoon staff Eddie for their helpful and friendly service during our 1 week stay. Good Job guys!

Considering what I paid, I can't believe the tremendous value this charming little hotel has provided. I can't believe I've previously paid 3-4x more than this and have gotten far, far less. For just a little more $ than a hostel, you get very trendy decor, clean and modern facilities, a great bed/pillows, ample A/C, a better-than-expected breakfast, friendly service, and a very convenient location near the main train/subway stations and just a couple of blocks away from the famous Liuhe Tourist Night Market. I would definitely stay here again!

It was just one street across the Gao Xiong Main Station. Considering the price that i have paid, i think it was totally fabulous and super value for money, it felt like a 5 star hotel at a 3-star price. In addition to that, staff were friendly and bicycles were also free for use which allowed me to travel and explore the neighbourhood. I would definitely book this hotel again for my next trip!!

My family stayed 2 nights at quadruple room. Room and bathroom was spacious and clean. Free wifi connection in room was very fast. Location just 5 minutes walking from Kaohsiung Main Station (TRA and Metro station). We were very happy stay at this hotel and will recommend Hwa Hong Hotel for traveller who looking for cheap and clean accomodation around Kaohsiung Main Station.

We arrived around 1am after a late flight, no issues checking in. Our booking included breakfast which was buffet! Heaps of options for breakfast, really enjoyed that. Hotel also has great facilities, with a play room with kids toys as well as a small gym. We were there during Typhoon Dujuan and our room window leaked making the floor quite wet, but we had no issues changing rooms quickly in the morning. Staff were super helpful, and there was always someone there who spoke good English which really helped. Location is not the most convenient, but there's a bus stop right outside the hotel with two buses (60 and i28) that go straight to Kaohsiung main station and you can get anywhere from there. There's also a really nice and cheap dumpling noodle place just around the corner on the hotel block, but no English there. But all 4 dishes we tried there during our stay were great! All up very pleased with our stay, and would happily go back.

1. Price is one of the lowest I had for the the 5 hotels I booked in this 12 days trip. 2. Location is best. Steps away from MRT, Taiwan Railway & bus station with foguangshan bus service connection. Near to liuhe nightmarket. Tip: Use the TRA station to connect to the street behind the TRA station (after platform 5). U will reach the rear exit of TRA. There is a main street on the left very near to overhead bridge. You will reach a long stretch of shops n restaurant. It is very cheap, very fresh & very huge potion. 3. Room is huge modern with king bed and huge TV with many channels. Very comfortable. 4. They provide buffet breakfast and 24hr snack bar. Snack bar 1. 6 types of Pao 2. 4 types of ice cream 3. 6 types of kopi 4. Different tea 5. Soft drinks 6. Tea leaves eggs I have decided to stay in this hotel whenever I enter kaohsiung.

It was a fabulous stay. there are two minor things to make this a perfect stay. needs a mousquitos zap lantern on the main floor where the recption and restaurant located, because when the automaticdoor on the main ntrance open, allow quite a few mosquitos got in and they are quite bother some while eating and seeing them landing on the selferve f ruit counter which has nothing to cover. This is a non-smoking hotel, but we can smell smoking @ the hall way and found a lighter and ashtray in the room. we found out from the staff they said to prevent some cliens who sneakly wanted to smoke inside t guest room and ade damage to tne room, so they provided^_^to solve this problem just install smoke detectors in @the guest room and put an warning sign saying if the smoke alarm goes off there will be a fine charge to the guest s credit card if they smoke inside the building. this is the way to prevent not to provide an ashtray and lighter and put a non smoking sign, you areconfusing your guests. it is a very nice hotel, but if the sense of smoking is bothering you, i recommad you stay away from this hotel . although i like this hotel very much, but i can smell the smoking inside my roim throu the ventilation somehow, so did not sleep well. but everything else other than what i have mentioned, it is a neat place to stay for its value if smoking sense not bothering you @ all

Reserved at a 44% discount through Agoda, which leads to a pleasing stay in Kaoshiung. The hotel is located nearby the metro station. Although they have a strict check in time 3pm, we have left our luggage in the concierge and have some local food in the narrow street where the hotel locates. I am satisfied and full with the breakfast in the hotel, involving light and heavy, Western and Chinese options. A note regarding Jiangong night market, which was a 15 minutes bus ride from the hotel. The night market has permanently closed a few months ago. So enjoy the night markets in other districts before heading back to the hotel and thanks for the staff's recommendation of Ziqiang night market in the Lingya district.

The hotel is really clean and well maintained. The decor is also very cool and the staff are friendly too. Good location if you like wholesale clothes shopping since its in the Sanmin district. Its also right next to kaohsiung station. Nothing much to do in the immediate area of the hotel but if youre looking for a cheap hotel to base your travels this is a good choice.

First: I would stay here again; price was very competitive. Rooms do not have an internet connection--no wireless, no wired internet jack--but the staff were very helpful when I asked where I could connect: in the lounge at the front. The hotel is very convenient for the rear entrance of the Kaohsiung train station. However, the nearest Kaohsiung station MRT (Subway) entrance is on the other side of the tracks and not really convenient. You will need to pay six (yes, only 6) NTD for a transit ticket to walk through the station OR you have to walk over a station pedestrian overpass that has lots of steps, which would be pleasant on a hot Kaohsiung day. That said, the hotel has lots of little shops around it, a very convenient laundromat not far away, and it is in a central location in the city, making many destinations a short taxi ride away.
