Find hotels near Sano in Sano, Japan

Absolutely loved my stay here. Room was clean, comfortable and warm. Staff were all friendly. The canteen/communal eating area was very convenient for meal times too. Location is walking distance to Sano premium outlet mall and bus terminal that can bring you on a direct bus to Tokyo city. Enjoyed my stay. Don’t let the pictures online deter you from choosing to stay here and come see for yourself :)

Excellent full Japanese breakfast in a nice sunny dining room. Very clean room and bathroom. Room had an electric teapot, refrigerator, hair dryer, TV, bathrobe/yukata. Single rooms are the small type I've seen for business travelers - i.e. there's no room for adding a rollaway bed. It is for one person only but the price/value was good. At first it seemed there wasn't any place to put my luggage but then I just moved the trashcan and put my suitcase under the desk. There is no closet - just 2 big wall hooks which was just fine. Big window opens for fresh air and a view of the outside no blockage. When arriving, you can access the elevator from a door on the side of the hotel. Nice extras: ready-made hot water with tea bags in lobby, azuki bean soup available in the evenings, nice firm pillows plus memory foam pillows available. The only slight negative was a change in water pressure that would last about 1 second and then return - presumably caused by toilet flushes but water was otherwise strong and also hot. Location: I was here for a conference so I have no idea why people generally come to Sano. Coming from Tokyo, it seems like a small town. Sufficient number of restaurants close by and 5 minutes walk to train station and a 7-11 convenience store. (I highly recommend the 7-11 brand matcha ice cream). Seems like people here like to grill on hibachi as two restaurants had these. People in restaurants don’t speak English. I got to see Sanomaru, the city’s mascot on one of his promotional outings going to a local shop. Other than that, I didn’t see any interesting shops but I was there when a lot of stuff was closed for the New Year. The immediate area didn’t seem to have any coffee shop but did have bars. If you walk 10-15 minutes west on route 67 you will see 2-3 coffee shops, including a really cute vintage American style cafe that’s opening in March.
