Santa Grand is a small hotel at a great location at great price (promotion price, as compared with hotels in Singapore). The hotel is new and very clean. The room is very clean and the cleaners mopped the tiled floor in the room keeping it very clean. The room we got is small, however sufficient for us. It has all necessary amenities (safe, fridge, LCD TV, hair dryer, kettle, Wifi, etc). We saw other bigger rooms in the hotel. There is a bus stop behind the hotel, about 3 minutes walk, which will take us directly to the Orchid Road (stop at Dhoby Ghaut, Somerset, Orchard Stns). Along the road in front of hotel, there is a bus stop about 3 minutes walk which has buses to talk us to China town, etc. The hotel is about 10 minutes easy walk to Bugis Station where Bugis Junction and Bugis Street are. Along the way, you will pass Raffles Hospital which has a food court at ground floor. Walking further 10 minutes from Bugis Station will reach Sim Lim Square. Coming back from Orchid or Chinatown on bus will stop at the bus stop right in front of the hotel, across the road. All staff we have encountered are friendly and helpful. The lobby is small and always packed with hotel guests, however not a problem at all. The cafe in the hotel offer reasonable food and breakfast. They always keep the cafe clean and neat. During breakfast time, we noticed they were consistently keeping the place clean (wipe the tables, etc) and covering the food trays (when guests left them opened). An excellent place to stay. Will definitely stay again if price doesn't go up.
Exactly what we needed for our stay to explore Singapore. Hotel was clean, breakfast was fine, staff were effecient. Dining room staff were friendly and hard working. My only critiscm is in the bathroom - the silicone needed replacing in some places. I mean the bathroom was clean, it just needed a bit of a deep clean and rejuvenating. We thought the rooms were tasteful, compact and perfect for a 3 star hotel. The location is excellent, 500m from Bugis or Lavender mrt stations. Bugis is a lovely youthful area with a mix of shopping centres and, importantly food stalls. Bargain to be had at with dishes at 5-10 S$. The hotel is also around the corner from a few boutique local shops and shophouses ( situated behind the hotel). We drove down orchard road where lots of 5* hotels were and glad we weren't staying there! Nothing but designer shops and no food options ( I guess you eat in the hotels). We stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast was decent, a simple choice of a Malay type breakfast (rice/eggs/noodles/protein), or basic fruit and cereal. I enjoyed the roast chicken and rice! It's a great hotel if you're looking for a place to stay to explore the city and don't need over the top hotel luxury.
THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER”
Santa Grand Bugis Hotel worth every pennies and cents during my 3-day stay in Singapore. The staff were very accommodative, the room was very clean, the breakfast was awesome, and it is super near to MRT Bugis Station as well as Bugis Junction -- where everything cheap and nice are sold there. It is very private despite the good location, that is also a heaven for pictures-taking! I'll definitely stay in this hotel again when I come back to Singapore in the near future. Thank you, Santa Grand Hotel Bugis for the amazing service and hospitality! <3
Excellence service and pleasant stay”
We requested for an early check in as we book the hotel over Agoda webpage. Nevertheless, we hit into the hotel early (about 11am) and just to try our luck if the room is ready. To our surprise, the hotel had actually take our request into consideration and there is a room ready for us despite us arriving earlier than usual check-in time. This shows how they take care of their client although it is not really a fancy 5 star hotel. The hotel is located approximately 750m from the Bugis MRT station. All along the way from Bugis MRT to the hotel, there are lots of Arabic concept shops, which is a total new experience too ( try their murtabak, its really worth for the price of $GD6.50!!). The breakfast in hotel is not that fancy, however it is sufficient for those who would love to continue your day for food adventure, the simple yet satisfying breakfast has just done its role perfectly. There is a swimming pool in level 4, a small yet decent one. There is also a few chairs by the pool side where you can hang out with your friends. Remember to bring your swimsuit along (oh yeah.. there is also a baby pool provided. )
the best hotel to be in”
Santa grand bugis hotel is one of the best and reasonable price hotel i have stayed in Singapore. MRT was just few minutes walk in Bugis junction. Our room was in the basement but it was very convenient going up. the hotel is small and new. the staff was very accommodating..I definitely am going back to stay in this hotel next time Im in singapore.
Very good value hotel in an expensive Singapore”
We had a nice stay at this hotel during our 4-days trip in Singapore. First, the check-in was fast and simple, the front desk and concierge staff was friendly and helpful. We got room no.411 on the 4th floor - same floor as the pool (although it's quite small but clean and look out a cool view of green park and quiet neighbors. The room itself is not huge, but quite big compare to normal hotel rooms in Singapore at the same price. And it was also very clean and neat, we felt very comfortable during our stay. The housekeeper was nice. The breakfast, yes, is limited, but tasted okay and enough for a new day to me (rice, baked beans, eggs, soup, toast, jam, butter, fruit, coffee, milk, orange juice). The location is great, about 200m from 7/11-convenient store, 500m between both Bugis and Lavender Underground station. It's on the green line (East West line - Airport line of Underground system in Singapore. From Changi Airport, go to Terminal 2 and catch a train to Bugis, around 20 mins, walk another 500m, you can get to the hotel). You should discover the surrondings, lots of massages, cafe, restaurants, bars nearby. As well as a Mosque. For those who like shopping, you can check out the Bugis street (market style) or Bugis Junction opposite of Bugis Station. And don't forget a small alley nearby - Haji Lane - the vintage fashion trends setting in Singapore. All in all, there's still things to improve but to me, it all comes well under that price so don't expect too much and just enjoy it!
I like the experience at Santa Grand Bugis”
For its price, i'm glad I chose Santa Grand Hotel Bugis. The staff is ok. I didn't communicate much with them except for check in and check out but they seem friendly enough. The room is clean, it's big enough compare to other hotels. We even have massage machine in our room. The bathroom is also big enough. Overall, I am satisfied with the size of my room for its price. The swimming pool is really small. It's ok for a kid, but quite small for an adult. The gym is also small. But I didn't come to Singapore to swim or to workout so they don't matter much. This hotel is very close to Bugis Junction/Bugis Village/Bugis Street. Just 5 minutes walking straight. Very convenient. It's also quite close to Mustafa Center (around 10 minutes walk). Bugis Junction is close to Bras Basah Complex (huge bookstore) - another 5 minutes walk from Bugis. But it's quite far from Orchard road. It took us 40 minutes to walk to Orchard road. (But the walking speed was slow since our feet were hurt). For normal speed, it maybe just takes about 20-30 minutes. If you know a local people, ask them to give you the shortcut way to visit Fountain of wealth, merlion park and other sightseeing. It took us just around 2 hours to go and visit them all (with the help of a local).
Review of the Santa Grand Hotel Bugis - Singapore”
I arrived very late in the evening as my plane was delayed but this did not matter; as when I arrived at the hotel, my suitcase was collected and all I needed to do as a weary traveler was to sign in. The lift made getting upstairs easy and the air conditioned room made my stay very comfortable. The hallways were quiet and inside the room I didn't hear anything. The bed in the room was very comfortable and after travelling for over 16 hours; though the clock had gone round 26 hours because of the time zone differences was very welcome. The bathroom was very clean and housed a very impressive shower. I was very impressed with the courtesy and warm manner that the staff offered and even was able to get a cup of tea long after the kitchen had closed. The hotel provides free wi-fi which allowed me to check my emails and catch up. The location of the hotel is very close to Bugis Station which meant having the freedom to travel as a local to get around. The swimming pool and other facilities are free to guests and on my next stay I will try them out as I ran out of time on this trip. When I am in Singapore next, I would be happy to stay at this hotel again.
In a small hotel basically for sightseers ”
It was OK. No complaints. Fair price for what you are getting. In as much as we were there to visit and sightsee. We just needed a place to rest and sleep. Very close to bus and MRT which makes it accessible to all parts of Singapore. This is a very, very, important tip. These numbers are the numbers of buses that will drop you off in front of the hotel. Look for these numbers on the bus terminal board ( 2, 32, 63, 80, 33, 51, 12, 130 ). Get a 3 day tourtist unlimited ride for Bus and MRT card. To get to Marina get the 133 bus from Bugis station.
Great location for exploring Singapore”
This was our 2nd stay at the Santa Grand Hotel in Bugis. Since our last stay the Downtown Line has been added to the MRT system, so this was a massive bonus when we arrived. Having an interchange so close to the hotel is fantastic and allowed us to explore the city very easily. The rooms are standard Singapore hotel size. Comfortable bed and all the usual amenities including a fridge and safe. Bathroom features a great shower, however the bathroom was poorly lit, leaving my girlfriend to have to do her makeup etc in the hallway where it was had better lighting. No complaints about the actual rooms or hotel however the nearby Mosque does make quite a bit of noise some nights, including singing and music in the very small hours of the morning which caused a few restless nights. There was also some early morning roadworks which interrupted sleep a few times, but this is out of the control of the hotel obviously. The free breakfast is quite good. Varied menu each day and the food is good. Dining room is quite small however, and we found ourselves standing to eat a few times. Will always consider this hotel when staying in Singapore. Would definitely recommend for tourists looking to explore the city. Bugis is a great place to set up base as Bugis junction and its nearby hawker food stalls are fantastic places to shop and eat. Thanks for a great stay
Good hotel, good staff, good location.”
The room is clean, they fulfilled our request nicely (we asked for a room upper-stairs). The room has the basic things you might need (blowdryer, boiling kettle, water bottles, coffee and tea, toiletries and slippers, clean towels, a fridge and tv, a safe box). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was pretty quiet and we even had a view of part of the ferris-wheel. About 100m-ish to the bus-stop, and 500m-ish to the Bugis Station and Bugis Junction/Bugis Market. Definitely coming back next time visiting Singapore.
Great location and fantastic Value”
Great place to stay for the budget minded traveller. Singapore in general is very expensive and the Santa Grand Bugis is good value for money and an easy walk to the Bugis MRT station. It is on the same line as the airport as well which makes it easy to get to from Changi. The breakfast is a little limited but filling. The room is very clean and has a good shower. We got the hotel to organise a taxi for us back to the airport (as we had to leave early before the MRT started) and was not a problem at all.
Lovely clean rooftop pool, with pool towels provided. Fast check in, with all paperwork and breakfast vouchers ready for us on arrival. Lovely comfortable bed, and great hot shower. Good size room for Singapore standards, with fridge, Tv(with English channels), toiletries, tea n coffee making facilities, 2 free bottles of water daily. Helpful staff, good breakfast. The location is ideal being only 5 minutes walk from Lavender MRT AND 7 minutes walk from Bugis MRT station, which meant that we could get everywhere we wanted to go using the MRT system. Brilliant!!! Had a room on the 4th floor, so no traffic noise, not that there is much traffic on Singapore streets, mostly delivery trucks, buses, and taxis. Had a lovely stay, and would definitely come back.
Affordable comfort in a great location”
Family came down to Singapore for Chinese New Year. Paid about USD1000 for 4 nights (2 basement rooms). First off, the location is great. It is within walking distance to nice eateries. The bus stop 1 minute away has direct buses to Orchard Road & Clark Quay. A 10-15 minutes walk bring you to Bugis MRT Station. Secondly, the hotel facilities are nice. On the rooftop (4th floor), there's a small swimming pool & balcony with amazing view. The chairs near the balcony is a nice touch. Rooms are comfortable. We stayed in the basement rooms, which are frankly good enough. Toilets have hairdryers. Lastly, the local buffet breakfast was amazing! Simple dishes, but tasty! I particularly like the fried vegetables & the special meat dish (fish/chicken) served every morning. Grab a glass of orange juice. After you finish your meal, get a cup of hot milo from the machine & chill. Best of all, its buffet, so eat all you can like a King. :) Overall, a very nice hotel in the town area of Singapore for the budget-conscious travelers. It will be our go-to hotel the next time we're in Singapore.
First time in SG”
Picked this hotel for our first trip to Singapore. It's along Victoria St. and near a bus stop. We used Grab taxi most of the time because of my toddler and it's not that hard to pick one in this area. There's a lot of restaurant nearby, 7-11 and few meters away from Little India and Bugis Junction for your shopping needs. We stayed in their basement room which is great place to rest after a tiring day! No noise, no window..had a good sleep that we wake up past 7am to catch up with their buffet breakfast. Food is great for the price. They always serve rice, unlimited juice and coffee, bread, several spreads and fresh fruits. I will miss their orange/calamansi juice!
Great hotel; highly recommended”
this hotel was the best i stayed in during a 2 1/2 week trip to asia. loved the (totally unexpected) private balcony off my room. nice little pool with a deck to relax on and view the singapore skyline. i wish i'd been there more than one night. very handy for bugis area and only 20 min. walk from the marina district. and a very reasonable price. highly recommended.
Reasonable and nice & quiet Hotel”
the size of single room is big enough. the inner design is ok. washroom is clean. location is ok, near bugis mrt, it has to take 10 mins. walk to mrt. but there is bus station beside the hotel. if possible, try to reserve the room at 4th floor. overall, it is a good hotel to stay at singapore under reasonable price.
Staff are the best! ”
We did not have high expectations but this hotel delivered! The location was perfect as it is between two mrt stations, near bu stations and places to eat. Bugis is just a 10-minute walk. The rooms we had was just perfect size for the price. It was clean and the housekeepers were on it! But I love most the doorman who was very helpful even with directions. Front desk staff were friendly and accommodating! Breakfast was also a good deal. Overall it was a good experience!
Family Friendly Hotel ”
We Enjoyed our 5days stay, great value for money, staff are so polite they greeted us from time to time and provide to us what we need, the manager gave my children cookies before we check out. Breakfast is a plus, it is a buffet style bfast, most of the foods in SG that we are planning to eat where at their table ( 1 main course every day) the cook and his assistants are so friendly and they keep the tables clean, Location was also great it is located in the middle of tourist spots in SG neighbourhood was quiet , was also near to bus stops and Mrt Stations, also a plus is it is a 10 minute walk to Bugis street and Bugis Junction where you can do the "shopping) , 7-11 convenience store is just 1 minute walk. Rooms are sparkling clean, and my kids enjoyed the bathtub,Family room was spacious enough for us 4 adults and 2 kids , they even replenish our stocks daily and clean our rooms daily, Thank you so Much Santa Grand Hotel You made our SG trip so enjoyable. Kuddos to all the staff =)
Served our needs well”
We stayed at the Santa Grand Bugis for 3 nights - and it was a good base for us for our stay. Staff were efficient and friendly, very fast check in and check out processes. Rooms were clean, serviced daily and had everything we needed. 2 water bottles were provided daily. We were also provided with complimentary internet access during our stay which was very useful. The included breakfast was always fresh and choices changed daily. Western options included cereal, toast, eggs and fruit - but the asian breakfast was the way to go - good range of rice, noodles, meat, vegetables. There was also a coffee machine which my caffeine deprived body enjoyed thoroughly. The only problem with breakfast is that there aren't many seats in the cafe - but there are more seats outside if need be. I hesitate to say that it is good value for money, simply because everything in singapore is so expensive - but by Singaporean standards it was! Exactly what we needed.
