New year family and friends in storm ”
Great grounds and location on hillside mountain. Traditional wooden accommodation with some great views of the beach and sea. We booked in high season so paid top price over 12000 bharts per night. Due to storm Pankut we were marooned in the hotel for the 5 days and was not able to visit other parts of the Island. Breakfast and evening Buffett were well presented and tasty with a large choice of food. The 5* hotel also came with 5*prices that at times did not justify their 17% service charge and tax. Very friendly and polite staff as everywhere else you travel in Thailand regardless of star rating of hotels. The waiters and front line staff need to be more tentative in clearing tables and asking guests if they need more tea/coffee. Reception staff and check in process is very good. Management and staff handled the storm very well without panicking guests. Yoga classes are only for max of 8 persons, odd for such a big hotel. Ideal for honeymooners and couples.
Wow, one of the top hotel we've been from all over the world. The staff, the kindness, the Thai architecture, the amazing food and cleaness - are like nothing else we have seen before. It really is a special place. Thank you Santhiya hotel, we had an amazing honey moon!
Amazing hotel and staff - would definitely recommend it”
We stayed at the hotel for 6 nights in a room with direct pool access. The room and view was amazing and the staff at the hotel is so helpful. The hotel is located on a hillside so the hotel transfers you to your room in a shuttle. We were traveling with a baby and it’s not possible to use a stroller at all, but it worked out fine anyway. The only slightly negative to say would be the location, you either have to walk alongside the beach or take a taxi to the nearest small village, and it is small but it has several places to to eat and some kiosks. Overall I would recommend the hotel to everyone who wants to stay in a hotel with a lot of nature, amazing rooms and friendly staff
Indulging resort ”
Very beautiful and clean resort. The stuff is so nice and helping. The facilities are various, from pools and restaurants to fitness classes. If you like you don't have to leave the resort for any reason.
A Hidden Paradise ”
This place is fantastic, Just forget the Rest of the world in Santhiya. Green and blue, friendly Staff, outstanding view over the bay. The only negative point: they cook such a big amount of meat. Being a natural ressort, they should be more sustainable.
Poor service, Service too slow”
We arrived the hotel in the afternoon and were waiting the room almost 40 mins. The lobby area very tight and hot temperature. Staff took us in to the room and showed around for any facilities. The room is cleanliness good view (we got a room upgrade from superior to delux) , Good decoration and are preparation so nice. We were in the room almost 40 mins but the temperature in room was to hot. I went to check the AC It's seem doesn't work too also there lots of water leaking to the floor. We called to informed staff for what was happened and they said will send someone to check it. We wait for the staff almost 20 mins But theres no any one coming until I called twice and the third times. The lady who came from the front desk approached to me and her made apologies for the thing were happened and moved me to stay another room instead. (same category, same floor, same building) The service too slow, The staff made mistakes by handed other guest bill folio to me. My departure was too bad.
Amazing stay on every level. Staff were amazing. Food was a little spendy at the beach bar. Beautiful resort!
Paradise on Earth - in Phangan”
Well, I just returned from paradise on earth have I not. I am surprised that Santhiya Koh Phangan Resort and Spa is not the top resort on the island, it certainly must be! From the moment I stepped into the resort's compound until the last day when I left, it was absolute bliss - the staff will look after your every need with a smile on their faces, and you are there just to enjoy the resort. Food offerings - out of this world (you have to taste them to understand). The room itself - I had the supreme deluxe which overlooked the sea and cliff and had our own pool - amazing. The bed - super comfy. All amenities - top notch. A shuttle takes you around the compound - it arrives within 2 minutes without fail. They take every effort possible to make you feel comfortable. Without doubt one of the top resorts not just in Thailand, but globally. I will definitely return.
Best resort that I have ever stayed in. Originally planned for a day, we ended up extending our stay by another day. The beach is gorgeous and reminded me of Maya Bay. The resort facilities - wooden cars to chauffer guests, huge buffet breakfast with live thai music, beach view rooms, infinity pool, beach restaurant, spa and massage facilities are awesome. Add to that, a small village at 5 mins walk, with amazing local food, bars and shopping places - and you have a recipe for a "perfect vacation". Best part of our vacation in thailand.
wonderful rooms, great gardens”
I stayed 2 nights at a Ocean View Plus Villa. The room itself was wonderful, spacious with great attention to detail and a spectacular private pool overlooking the beautiful bay. The thai food in the restaurant was nice, but since I have been living in Bangkok for the past 4 years, I've had better. However, it was absolutely adequate. The international food I tried on the second night (pizza and risotto) unfortunately was substandard. Breakfast buffet was good, as can be expected from a hotel with such standards. In general, the service was attentive and friendly, but I was missing a certain attentiveness that I would get from similar hotels that belong to an international chain. I guess all the management is Thai which unfortunately proves to be an issue sometimes (I worked in the hospitality industry myself for a long time so I know what to look for and what to expect). The thing that really upset me is that they charge 1500 baht for a pickup from the pier. I believe that when a guest pays 400+ dollars per night, the transfer HAS to be included. I discussed this in length with the GM before I arrived but still they insisted on charging. In the end I decided to take a cab for 1200. It's not about the money (I spent more than 10K on room service and dinner) but for me just a principle. I never had to pay for the transfer at such room prices. In general I have to say, the stay was very nice, spectacular rooms and gardens and I enjoyed it a lot, however I believe there is still room for improvement.
Amazing surroundings, just beautiful & tranquil”
Just perfect! The vies amazing, the pools beautiful, the food fantastic. The staff very friendly, the accommodation private, clean and traditional. The beach calm and tranquil. We Will be back there next year.
Worth Every Single Cent”
I booked the Sea View Pool Villa Suite for 2 nights and was totally wowed by the quality and design of the suite. I am usually a budget traveller so this was something special for me. The bathrooms were clean, beds were comfortable and we had a pool overlooking the sea. WHAT A VIEW!!! The food was decent, though pricey by their standards. The town is a 30-minute drive away. Do note that the drive there is quite bumpy and rough, so its not advisable for the elderly or people with car sickness. I would recommend this place for its comfort, unique design of its suites/villas and its excellent service staff. A short and wonderful escape for me and my partner.
a wonderful hotel with a supberb view. Set on a hillside, the whole property feels like you are in a garden jungle. The upper pool with the floating longtail boats is one of the better pools I have lounged in- anywhere. If anything, I would say that the service was a bit over the top. The rooms are a bit cramped as they put so much room into the bathrooms. Overall, I would say this is a wonderful property.
Great view and private pool”
We stayed in a Santhiya Sea View Pool Villa Suite Plus room at the top of the mountain. In the morning, it was so great to wake up in the sunlight and at night there were a comfy area just in front of the pool to see the moon and stars in the sky. The view was just so perfect. Definitely would like to stay here again.
Fantastic place to stay! Island paradise ”
resort it's a piece of paradise. dozens of villas in the tropical garden. everything is looked after. spotless, clean rooms and hotel. nice and friendly staff. good restaurant with great views. awesome pool just off the beach, short walk to cross to the town and main beach. can only recommend!!!
Hotel is great as it is scenic and relaxing. Staff is right on top of everything. We love the bar at the pool as it is just beside the sea and its great view there. Also love the pool because of the beautiful and tall waterfall, great landscaping here. However the food is catered more towards the European taste so as an Asian I would only put the food as average.
Heaven on earth!”
This would have to be the most amazing place I have ever stayed at in my life. Santhiya exceeded my expectations again and again. We organised the speedboat/pickup from koh samui airport prior to arrival. (we spoke to a couple who took the public ferry to kho phangan and then a taxi through the island to get to the resort. although cheaper, they said it was hell and took forever to get there, so def recommend taking the hotels speedboat to the resort as although expensive, very worth it) A lady from santhiya greeted us at the meeting point and gave us water and a cool towel. We then waited for the santhiya van which took us to a waiting area near the ferries in koh samui. We then took the speedboat with santhiya which only took 30 mins and i am so glad that we did as we saw the public ferry and it was huge, old and looked like it was a bout to sink. When we arrived at santhiya we were given coconuts to drink, a cool towel and maps and brochures of what you can do on koh phangan. Then a wooden tuk tuk took us to our room. We stayed in a pool access room and it was gorgeous! Traditional thai room but very luxurious and new. Everything is well thought of, we were given robes, slippers, beach bag, umbrella's, adaptors etc. When we walked out of our room on to our deck area there was a sun bed and a table then you can just jump straight into the pool which has the most amazing view! The boats are actually little sunbeds and i could just live in that pool! Breakfast was great, there is a library where there are free books to borrow. There is a little relaxation area where you can read, relax or play some games, chess, jenga and checkers are provided. Free internet, so bring your laptop or you can use one of theirs. The gym is standard and be prepared to sweat a ton as the air con is never on high enough..but it wasnt bad. The town is only a short walk along a path.Amazing place! You have to visit! Staff so helpful and friendly!
My stay at Santhiya was great! (highly satisfactory). Stayed in Seaview Pool Villa Suite and the room was just like the photos. Flew in from Bangkok to Koh Samui, arrived in the morning. Arranged the hotel to pick me up from the airport then take me to the hotel by its own private boat. Had about one hour to wait. You can wait at its own pier which was part of its other resort in Koh Samui or rent a scooter to go to the Big Buddha (it's about 150 baht for one day) 20 minutes high speed boat ride then you are at the resort. Enjoyed the view of the island from the boat. The hotel staff are all kind and helpful. The services were satisfactory. Location wise the hotel has its own beach and you can walk to next couple of long beach. Lunch or dinner at the resort is great and also can walk to next beach for few other dining options. We took the hotel's snorkeling tour which was 900 baht/person but minimum 4 persons are required otherwise you just pay for 4 person and get the whole speed boat (thai style longtail boat, not luxury good experience) The island does not have people like in Koh Samui or Bangkok who constantly trying to rip people off. Things are little bit pricier than Bangkok but reasonable. I very much enjoyed the stay at Koh Samui.
If you are looking for an adventure - Santhiya is the right place to be.”
- Dead bugs at the entrance of the room (inside) - the glass window of the entrance door was not cleaned and dirty - the curtains were full of stains - the glass window to the bathroom had a „lip print“ on it (still after a few cleanings! (I don’t want to know what the people who stayed in the room before us did inside) - the shower was dripping - the bathtub was not cleaned and full of stains - the tiles in the bathroom were dirty - wood bugs everywhere, especially behind the bed! It was not easy to fall asleep) We mentioned these things during our stay step by step but we were never offered a different room due to full occupancy.
