Great Location!
This hotel is located only a short walk from Borobodur temple, which is reason in itself to select this hotel. The front desk staff were all very friendly and helpful and helped us to arrange transport to Jogja airport upon checkout. We had the pool to ourselves most days. The room was a bit dusty and the bedding had a bit of a musty smell. Also, the in-room safe did not work. Overall, however, it was a very pleasant, peaceful stay.

this hotel is quiet and nice with jawanese style. the door and the ceiling were high, just beside a mosque, walking distance to monohara hotel for sunrise at borobudur. staff are friendly, the place is quiet during nigh time, nothing much activities around.

Location a little far from town. Inside the rooms were slightly old fashioned. But overall we enjoyed ourselves very much and had a good holiday there!

Great place as it is near Borobudur temple
Nice, comfortable place. Beautiful building. About 10 minutes' walk to Borobudur temple. In front of hotel are many places to eat.

Recent stay at Saraswati Hotel
The staff were absolutely friendly, and very kindly helped us arrange an airport transfer. Their command of english was also good! The hotel is very nice and quaint, and within walking distance to Borobudur, so the location was perfect. As per some reviews, there are mosques located nearby, and unfortunately we went during Ramadan, therefore there were plenty of prayers on loudspeakers surrounding us as we slept as night, hence it wasn't too pleasant. Also, it was very odd that the breakfast (Nasi Goreng) had frozen chicken. It's not even cold chicken, it's frozen chicken. The rice was hot and fresh from the stove, but the chicken on the outside was cold (not room temperature), when I cut into it, the meat closest to the bone was frozen, with ice...so I'm not sure if it's intentional, or if the chef forgot to cook the chicken properly. Otherwise, no complains, the hotel was good for Borobudur visit, as well as near some streets for local food and mini mart.

Very helpful staff, clean and walking distance to Borobudur temple
Don't be fooled by the pictures of the hotel in Agoda website. The actual hotel is much more beautiful and charming when you see it. The front office and restaurant staff are polite, helpful and always smile. Room is clean, although the furniture are aging. Aircond works but a little rickety. Walking distance to the entrance of Borobudur temple complex, about 150meters away. But overall experience is good, primarily due to very polite and helpful staff, clean environment and walking distance to the Borobudur complex.

Quiet and clean hotel
The hotel seems to be a old colonial building with characters. The rooms have high ceiling and are clean. The staffs are friendly and helpful. The place is serene and peaceful. Great place for relaxation. It is about 5 to 10 mins walk Borobudur Temple Entrance. There are small eateries just outside the hotel.

Uncared for
Used to be a great place with enthusiastic staff but now the energy pizzaz seems lost. The place looks tired and uncared for, the food is terrible and the kitchen disgracefully dirty. Service uninterested, massage no longer a special romantic treat by the pool. Such a shame for a majestic building it is.
