Great hotel, great location, great food”

food, service, location

We have been to Koh phan gnan a couple of times and this is by far the best resort we have stayed in. Sarikantang is just minutes away from all the action in Haad Rin, including Haad Rin beach, but it is completely secluded on its own stretch of beautiful beach. The breakfast was excellent and the restaurant serves some of the best food we have had in Koh phan gnan. There is a nice relaxed atmosphere and staff were great. Bungalows were nice. We paid extra for the deluxe bungalow but when we extended our stay we moved to a standard bungalow which was much cheaper and almost as nice. It isn't the cheapest place to stay but once you are there, we found food and drink to be just as cheap if not cheaper than some of the budget resorts, so it worked out to be excellent value. Only downside is that it is on a very small stretch of beach and there isn't much to do apart from sunbathe and swim. You may get itchy feet after a few days depending on what kind of holiday you are looking for. All in all, you should stay here!

perfect resort”

beautiful beach

We arrived at this wonderful resort and were greeted with a lovely drink and warm welcome. The staff had already arranged a complimentary upgrade to a deluxe room and drove us on their golf buggy the short distance to our room. The room was large and very nice with a very large bathroom. The room had everything we could need, including a hammock on the verandah. A beach bag and beach towels were also provided for us to use. The beach was perfect and extremely quiet, no hawkers to be seen. Hammocks were tied up between trees lining the shore. The pool was lovely with comfortable padded loungers around it. The service in the restaurant was first class and the food was great. There is free WIFI in public areas and also a computer room. The track that leads to the resort from Haad rin is a little bumpy but by Thailand standards not bad at all. Unless you really want to visit Haad rin I would avoid it, it's nothing special and is only really there to exploit the full moon crowds. I would highly recommend this resort as one of the best we've visited in Thailand, and we've been to quite a few.

Small wonder of a resort”

beautiful setting, warm staff, amazing room

I first came to Sarikantang about seven years ago and wow has it changed. They've expanded a bit and build a pool side villa. The staff are attentive and very helpful. The food is excellent serving both international and Thai cuisine. The location is excellent as you can easily walk into town in 5 minutes while being outside of the main Haad Rin town center. This is going to be my go-to resort every time that I make it to Koh Pha Ngan.

relax oasis”

The ambience. The room. The beach.

We chose a deluxe room, not Lanai ones. Looking at the whole resort and other rooms prices, this is the worthest room in terms of quality/prices/position. The standard rooms are bit on the cliff (second row to the beach side) while the delux are in front of the garden but facing the beach anyhow. The Lanai and the pool access rooms are perpendicular to the beach, so no direct view even if more expensive....they are probably more expensive due to fact they are in a new main building. Our room was #21, a bungalow we find very confortable and with nice design...last but not least: king size bed and a small, but very nice, terrace with sofa. Big shower in bathroom. Cleaness above Thai average. Beach towel available for free. Internet wi fi in room cost 50 THB per day...free in lobby & restaurant (in room 21 you catch lobby signal..) Be advised that the beach is beautiful (Leela Beach), but not for swim as very near to reef. To go Haad Rin center, we suggest to walk through the neighbour resort, Cocohut...and use their street as the sarikantang street is a muddy path, specially when it rains.

Take no notice of bad reviews!”

Location - short walk to haad rin but far enough away to be quiet. Beautiful rooms. Helpful staff

i nearly opted for a different hotel after reading some bad reviews on the internet - but then decided to trust the lonely planet ( their top pick in haad rin). i was not disappointed. the rooms were absolutely stunning, the staff were helpful -i left something at a previous hotel and the staff organised to collect if for me straight away. the buffet breakfast was lovely. i had a coffee body scrub and massage (looking out to sea)- a real treat. the hotel operates a shuttle bus into haad rin if you dont want to walk. free wi fi in the restaurant & can pay baht to use in your room. laundry service was good. i guess this hotel is expensive in thai terms but would never get you a hotel of this standard in the uk!

Great stay during off season”

Went to Sarikantang between the famous full/half and what-so-ever moon parties mid November with my wife and the hotel had great value deals as not many other guests were on the island. Very nice location, one of the most beautiful beaches on Koh Phangan, very good food, nice and helpful staff. Only the facilities might need some refurbishment, but during our stay they were constantly working on it as it was off season, so no issues there.

Memorable Stay - absolutely recommend this beautiful resort!”

My partner & I stayed at Sarikantang Resort for 3 nights in October 2018. What a beautiful beachfront resort - everything about our stay was wonderful! The setting is so tranquil & secluded, yet central. Our room was overlooking the pool - modern & clean, with a nice big soft bed, a deep bath, lots of lighting options & a nice balcony. We enjoyed breakfast at the resort each morning (a buffet when they have enough people staying). The beach is cute. Different to nearby beaches in that it has some trees on it, and I loved that, because I could relax in a shaded hammock, while my partner enjoyed the sun. And last but not least, the amazing staff! My partner proposed during sunrise on a nearby beach & when I excitedly mentioned this to staff in conversation, they were so warm with their congratulations & ended up decorating the bed with lots of lovely flowers! Thank you so much! Highly recommend this resort. Perfect for our romantic getaway. We will be back!

Very happy stay! ”

Totally enjoyed the stay there, clean, spacious room and toilet. 2 lovely pools to choose from. Quiet relaxing Leela beach but not really good for swimming, lots of seaweeds and carols, too shallow to snorkel too. About 10mins walk to Haad Rin party beach which has fine white sand and clear water to swim with calm and gentle waves, not ideal for snorkelling too as there’s nothing to see. During none Fullmoon or Halfmoon party it is very quiet and dead actually. Only 2-3 bars open till late but not much of an action. This area is small and quite far away from main town Thong Sala pier, about 30mins drive away with some very steep roads. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is ok but too crowded and busy from 9am, felt like feeding frenzy! Only 1 person cooking eggs for everybody’s requests. It would be nice if there were some ready cooked eggs. The hotel entrance is hidden after Cocohut resort so a bit hard to find. Overall a good resort and had a happy stay.

พนักงานน่ารักมาก/Staff were amazing”

Staff were amazing, food was nice, rooms were clean and friendly cats. They also have a SPA. The resort was pretty much empty due to COVID, Haad Rin is dead at the beginning of 2021 so you get to truly enjoy the nature and quietness. It is recommended for couples or solo travelers. As for groups you might find it boring and too quiet. Not very easy and cheap to get to Thongsala since Haadrin is dead there are no Songtaew to take you there, only shuttles from resort.

Sunset on the beach, very nice staff, very comfortable bed and room

Stop to look for an hotel, this is the best and the best value for money we had in all Thailand: Room: Soft, hard and large bed, clean room, good lights and design, good TV and DVD rental. Safety box big enough for computer. Perfect dark in the room even in the morning. Restaurant: Right on the beach, very affordable, very nice and friendly staff, really trying to speak English. Beach: not the best to swim, but ok. Beauctiful sunset, hammack and long chairs everywhere. 2 swimming pools. Area: 7 minutes walking from Haad rin center, free shuttle available. It was a great stay, so relaxing, friendly and esay to go around the Island (so good hotel that we didn't visit that much!). They arrange for you transport to parties. We loved it!

One of the Best Choices in Koh Phangan”

Value, Location, Food

We loved our stay at the Sarikantang. The have one of the best beaches on the globe. Instead of umbrellas, they have a natural low laying shade tree that does the job much better. Breakfast has just OK, but the hotel's restaurant serves the best food on the Island. Cost is reasonable too. Fruit shakes all day long too. The spa was amazing too, excellent treatment rooms and very high quality treatments reasonably priced too. Finally - excellent beds/mattress assures good quality sleep.

Beach front room is awesome!”

We are in Koh Phangan for the Fullmoon party, we booked our hotel quite late, but this hotel is beyond expectation! The service is excellent, the spa in the hotel is a must try, because its definitely worth of money. And the location is superb, its only 5 mins walk to the full moon party beach but you won't hear the noise at all after back in the hotel at 3 am while the party is still on. And with the private beach, its also a nice place to stay also when there is no full moon part around. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Good hotel”

Nature and beach

The hotel is at the Sarikantang Beach which is just 8 mins by walking to Haad Rin Beach. Sarikantang beach is secluded, relaxing with it's beautiful Koh Samui view, but not good for swimming because of tides. Unfortunately, tides bring the reef to surface. The resort itself is nice, it's in the middle of the nature, but the rooms are not very nice: I have stayed at a standard bungalow. This spacious bungalow has a TV, AC, hammock and a safe box. My room was not very clean when I checked in. The sheets were not very white, there were spider web in the gardrobe and some parts of bathroom, additonally, I saw cockroach, spider and lizard on the walls. Since the bungalows are in the middle of gardens this is understandable, but it's not nice to see cockroach on the wall just before sleeping. I'm sure there's something that hotel management may do abaout this issue. There are too many bungalows or hotels in the middle of gardens I have stayed at my 7 Thailand trip which have not got any cockroach or sth like that. The breakfast was not superb, but it's OK. The food is good at restaurant. But don't expect a superb staff either at restaurant or at the resort. Hotel has free wifi only at restaurant area, if you want to use wifi at your room, it's 50 THB for 24 hours. While many resorts provide free wifi in this area, this hotel request an additional amount for a wifi which is not very good. Hotel has shuttle to Haad Rin beach 5 times a day. If you want to go yourself, or miss the shuttle time, you should walk around 7-8 mins on an isolated and dirt road. When it rains the road becomes muddy. As a result, the resort is nice itself, in the middle of the nature and located on a very relaxing beach. At the other hand, cleanliness, cockroachs, fair wifi and road to Haad Rin are the disadvantages of this hotel.

Relaxing, romantic, beautiful”

Close to beach, atmosphere, room quality

Amazing stay from start to finish. Buffet breakfast was delicious: they made fresh omelettes in front of you with the ingredients you wanted. Literally on the beach which has white sand and is very clean. Beautiful sunsets every night. Wonderfully clean and decorated room on arrival and an abundance of towels! Quiet so we could sleep every night. Bad points: wifi not accessible from room which is annoying. Restaurant was too expensive but we ate at a really nice place up the road. Access is a little difficult: road is under construction at the moment. The staff don't speak very good English but communication is fine most of the time. Super close to haad rin so if you want to go to the full moon party it is literally a 5 minute walk!

only down side is a slightly small pool, but with the ocean yards away this is not much of an issue

really enjoyed the hotel, travelled around thailnd, and then onto the islans, best hotel on the island of Hoh Phanghan, it is a 5-10 minute walk form the beach but the walk is worth it once you get back to the hotel/ resort. really nice room, very clean, staff friendly and always a security guard around. Amazing hotel - great staff and location”

Staff were so helpful and friendly, well located for Full Moon Party but not too close to the beach, good restaurant and facilities

I arrived at 6:30 in the morning and they did not have my room available (and building near the pool). So they put me into a garden view villa which was amazing. Even though After one night got moved to my regular room - still a great room. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and would go out of their way to help you. Close enough to Haad Rin that you could walk, but far away enough that after the full moon party you could sleep. Also a great beach to swim at, especially at sunrise.

Great location and all to high standard”

Nice place, all clean and professional. Very pleasant breakfast and quiet swimming pools. Negatives are, 1. the beach is too shallow to swim at, which is the same for most West Coast beaches. 2. The bed in lowest priced bungalow that we stayed in was on small and soft side. Overall, many cheaper options available at Haad Rin, but I doubt you would find better value.
