Ideal for business and leisure travelers alike, the Savera is only 11 kilometers from the airport and five kilometers from the railway station. Marina Beach is also just a few minutes' drive away from the hotel. The on-site Piano Restaurant, Minar, and Malgudi all serve international and traditional Indian cuisines throughout the day while the Bamboo Bar offers fine selections of wines and cocktails. The business center is equipped with secretarial services and conference halls. Car rental is also available for visiting nearby cities like Kanchipram and Mahabalipuram. Spend your free time lounging by the outdoor pool or getting pampered at the hotel's salon. All things considered, Savera is excellently located, well appointed, and reasonably priced.

A great hotel that just keeps getting better ”
I have been staying at the Savera for over 20 years. During that time the hotle has expanded and up graded its rooms and services. It now has gone "green" with flat screen TVs in its rooms, lots of hot water, and excellent service. After the long flight from the U.S. I make it poiint to stay over night in Chennai at the Severa to rest up for the next leg of the journey. After a good night's rest in a quiet air conditioned room, a morning dip in the pool, and a great Indian/Western breakfast I'm ready to take my next flight well reated. The Severa is a "jewell' in the old part of the city, and rates have remained reasonable. I recommend it highly.
my return visit to hotel savera”
This was my 2nd visit to Hotel Savera during a 14 day holiday to the state of Tamil Nadu in July / August 2010. We stopped for a total of 8 nights at the hotel so for a full detailed report on the hotel and surrounding area please read my "long winded" review from late July 2010. As a summary I was very pleased with my choice of the Hotel Savera and will return there again on my next arrival in Chennai. Pleasant large hotel, good friendly well trained staff, with an excellent choice of restaurants and bars on site. We did not need to go out at night with 3 quality reastaurants and 2 drinks bars which served meals. If you are into fitness you have a quality modern gym / fitness centre with a good sized swimming pool all free to use ( just short of enough sun bed and umbrella's for the western tourist who enjoy a day around the pool !!) The hotel is primarily for Indian business men and locals with several conference rooms and banquet halls BUT it is also geared to providing a comfortable ambience for the occasional group of western tourist guests. During our 8 days we met fellow tourists from France, The Netherlands and the United States. Read the full review from a few day earlier.
After 4 weeks of running around India in a variety of guesthouses - some wonderful and some, ahem, not so wonderful - we arrived in Chennai on our way to The Andaman Islands and walked into Savera with our mouths open. Big,, orderly, nicely decorated lobby with plenty of staff. Very comfortable room with lots of hot water in the shower, which was actually closed in (what luxury!). Excellent food for breakfast and in the South Indian restuarant where we had dinner. Amazing coffee at the coffee shop adjoining the hotel. The service in the hotel was perfect and very pleasant. In the beauty salon, too. The gym is well equipped. Try this place. You won't regret it!
A Weekend Stay”
I pick Savera, every time in Chennai. It has a central location, but with an exclusive private property feel. It has great dining, particularly Malgudi and Bay 146. Staffs are friendly and very helpful. I would like to make special mention to the bellboys and restaurant staffs who have excellent service attitude. Only down side is I think the hotel should employ cleaners to clean the outer side of their glass windows as well as balconies and outer walls from dirt, grime and bird droppings.
Unexpected. knowing how india is dirty all round, Savera is all different. Staff very helpful, communicative, and i would advise anyone visiting Chennai to stay at Savera. Price is good, food also and very clean. This hotel is really of my choice.
Older hotel, Great room arrangement, Good location”
frequently travel to chennai. this hotel tops even better rated hotels in all areas except maybe food. location can't be improved on, room easy for business traveler to set up in, staff very helpful. all at a much lower rate than other hotels offering the same. will always choose savera when i travel to chennai in the future.
It is highly recommended for Business trip. Good location, nice food, Good Service and free Wireless internet. It is located in the center of Chennai - and there are easy access to everywhere. Near to the Airport - just 20 minutes by car. Facility is old, because this hotel is 40 years old , however, still better than any other hotel among 4 star hotel in Mumbai or Chennai. Smoking is available in the room, but the air vent system is required to improve.
Great experience with ”
every time when i visit i find a new experience. hotel management is approachable & always involved in improving the experience of guests. i can find afault in this hotel. breakfast is like king. health centre (gym) is so well equipped that one can not imagine without seeing it. must stay at savera chennai
Service with Smile”
savera is a 4* hotel centrally located in chennai. it has different types of restaurants which cater to all types of food; the quality is excellent and you have a wide choice to choose from the gym is well equipped for some one who really wants to work out; the cake shop has wide variety of pastries to choose from. the service is too good with all staff smiling all the time and wanting to help you.they have a huge car park area where there is space for lots of cars.halls are available to hold big conferences, sales meets etc comfortably.
Ideal Location ”
i have stayed at the savera often due to its accessibility to the airport and the city. the price is reasonable and a very good buffet breakfast is included. on the whole the staff are obliging and accommodating. in room free wifi is a bonus and much appreciated. i had a deluxe room which was comfortable and clean. however the bathroom was not deluxe and water flowed from the shower on to the floor. check out always takes time as one or two people usually deal with several customers at once which is frustrating. however some customers are very demanding from my observation and the staff do their best. the buffet restaurant is excellent and the the fusion restaurant superb. service in the bar is very good and snack food available. the avaialabilty of transport to the airport is excellent.
the hotel is located in the prime area of chennai city and on the road which leads to renowned marina beach, one of the largest beaches in the world. near to the hotel there are several shopping areas for gold and diamond jeweleries in the locality of stella maris ladies college. another shopping mall named chennai city centre is located within one kilometer distance from the hotel towards marina beach. there you can shop for best brands and the mall also accommodate cinema theaters and several food court.
Excellent and safe stay”
This is one of the oldest hotels in Chennai, and so we did not expect it to be well-maintained. We booked it mainly for its location, in the heart of the city and closeness to the beach. But we were pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness and the fairly modern rooms. Washrooms are very clean and have the facilities that most guests would require: hot water throughout the day, clean towels, shampoo, toothpaste etc. Housekeeping services are excellent. Staff, right from bell boys to reception and housekeeping is very helpful and cooperative. The complimentary buffet breakfast has a wide range including South Indian items and American. Overall, a comfortable and safe place to stay in.
North indian review if visiting chennai for business or pleasure”
Cleanliness, rooms specifically executive rooms mind u other rooms are not good only 9th floor onwards . North indian food prep as well buffet bkfst good as there is taste in food . Located very near actually the road directly leads to marina beach chennai city centre within 5kms radius ola cabs are avail other good food joints which are economic with taste are walking distance from property. Like kabul, savera an ,hyderabad Bir ayani the food in hotel is too expensive though I don't deny the ambience and quality is best in class
Not bad experience ”
I have stayed in a few hotels in Chennai and I try to go 5* as hotels are so cheep in Chennai. As it was Xmas season hotels were expensive so went to this one for first time. Overall not bad. Good things is location; breakfast was awesome; rooftop restaurant is awesome -pricey-but view and service is good; the pool is well maintained and they have a travel agent that provides decent prices for cars. I didn't appreciate 30min check in as they couldn't find notification from Agoda - for 4* hotel wasn't great first impression and we dealt with 4 members of staff and neither I felt offered great customer service. Pool tines are random - it shuts for a few hours in day for private lessons - which is nirmalky the time you come back sightseeing and just want to freshen up and cool down and Jumo in pool. I guess the negatives don't outweigh positives so I can recommend this hotel.
Super Hotel ”
We were upgraded to their new room, was excellent. Breakfast was very good, staffs were very friendly..from the doorman till the receptionist were good. Will surely choose Savera when in Chennai.
Pleasant and Comfortable Stay as always!!!”
I am a regular guest at Savera Hotel, i have to mention that completely an outstanding service and work by the bell desk, piano restaurant - breakfast complimentary buffet, house keeping staff and in room dining staff. Had a comfortable stay @Savera with my mother. Executive room was clean and very nice interiors, except for only one issue as i saw mosquitos and one small cockroach in my room. I had to call the house keeping team to send Hit Spray and All night repellent machine to my room. Please look into these issue which could be avoided. Overall, very good experience.
Good hotel for solo female travellers”
Enjoyed my stay at Savera as the staff courteous towards a single female traveller. The room was very comfortable and though I had a problem with my room safe (it got jammed) this was resolved quickly by management. The buffet breakfast was quite nice and room service good. Some of the facilities are a bit worn. Great to have a little gym and swimming pool but the changing rooms by pool pretty dirty. Just avoid the annoying tuk tuk drivers by hotel gate who try to take you to Kashmiri shops instead of your destination. You can ask concierge to call for a taxi which may be a bit more exoensive than standard tuk tuk but cheaper and less hassle than the ones at front! Overall a good choice for anyone on a business stay in Chennai rather than relaxation as it is a busy hotel - lots of seminars and visitors.
Nice stay at Hotel Savera”
Savera is one of the nice hotels I have stayed in Chennai, India. The staff is very friendly, starting from the reception going up to the the room service it is easy to coordinate. It is located in a very convenient place, closer to all business centres, shopping malls and easy access to many places. Facilities wise it is really worth the money you spend, rooms are good and the food is very tasty and good variaty. Ideal for business visitors, after a heavy days of work you could take a nice dip in the lovely swimming pool. Also the gym is well eqipped. Could recommend this hotel to any body.
Pleasant and safe stay with family at Savera Hotel”
Enjoy a lot our stay at the hotel. Staff were so helpful, always ready to help. Really safe with family...feel at home. The breakfast was just waow...unbelievable with so many varieties, kids enjoy the pastries. The fruits, juice, tea, coffee and the typically chennai menu plus other varieties of dishes for non resident of india were just superb! The swimming pool is fantastic! Our room was very clean, room service was awesome! All these were included in our package when we book through Agoda! With no additional cost. It's TOTAL VALUE FOR MONEY!
No hotel in chennai can be better than Savera. Our Foreign delegation stays at Savera & do not want to go Chola Sheraton.
