Location to town and businesses in town centre was excellent. From check in to check out the staff were helpful and professional. The rooms were comfortable and well presented. Felt like a home away from home. When I would come back to Dunedin I would definitely stay at Scenic Southern Cross again.
Lovely hotel and great location”
We had a pleasant stay in Scenic Hotel Southern Cross. The room was clean, big and with good facilities. The location is great and is convenient to access to most of the city. The staffs are friendly and helpful. Definitely, we will come back to stay in our next trip. We would highly recommend this hotel to friends and relatives.
absolutely lovely experience..(a pleasure to stay)”
really enjoyed our stay... will always stay here given the opportunity again soon...totally recommend you hotel... bit of confusion about real location...that is the only small thing...printing...on coupon not as strong as could be...SOUTHERN CROSS...needs to be brighter May be...
Good hotel and service”
The Scenic Southern Cross hotel was very comfortable. The staff went out of their way to ensure my requests were met. The rooms are comfortable and modern and the beds are very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and also have a bath which is a bonus! There is a charge for parking but you are able to leave your car in the carpark whilst you explore during the day, after you have checked out.
We were staying as kids live ini Dunedin - sport”
Good. We staying in Dunedin to watch kids sports. Accommodation good and price reasonable. Location good as handy to octagon and night life. Staff very helpful. Facilities good. however and know this out of hotel's control outlook from windows not that flash. There are some surrounding buildings that need demolished, upgraded. That would be the only negative
Luxurious but getting a little outdated”
I had a good stay at the Southern Cross, great friendly staff and is very comortable. I believe it is becoming outdated for its price though.
We had a one night stay at the hotel and found it very good. The staff were very good and the check in was quick and easy. The room was comfortable and clean. We found the location excellent as it's very close to the centre of Dunedin. All in all a good stay. Only down side was paying for parking but not a major issue
Always stay at Southern Cross - travel usually monthly. cant fault service amnd hotel.
Great old hotel in two partd”
i first stayed at the southern croos hotel in 1973 and many times since. this time i stayed in a room i stayed in in 1973 which has been up graded of course. the "new" rooms are part of the hotel but also part of the casino. my room was big and comfortable and clean. hotel staff were helpful and friendly and room service dinner was prompt and tasty.
Great location ,tidy and good size rooms”
I was only on a brief overnight stay but reception was efficient and helpful, room clean and comfortable and the breakfast great and plentiful. My room was in the new wing of the hotel which is part of the casino. No real noise problems tho. Hotel is in the main street of Dunedin and everything is close by.
Lovely clean hotel, very friendly staff”
stayed here fro a couple of nights on a trip to dunedin, was a nice relaxing stay, comfy room, clean and the staff were friednly and helpful.
Near the octagon. Make sure you go to the right hotel. There are 2 scenic hotels on the same street.
lovely staff very quiet hotel. ”
the only hotel we like staying when we come to dunedin. always a plesure to stay there.
Scenic Hotel Southern Cross”
The room with kitchenette had everything we needed, and many attractions were within walking distance. The airport bus (Airbus Express) stops outside the entrance, a big bonus. The staff were friendly and attentive, and our room was always promptly service. Lots of restaurants to suit all budgets close by, as are supermarkets, should one wish to eat in the room. The number of TV channels was not extensive and the hotel provides only limited free internet, beyond which there's a charge. Overall, a very good place to stay.
Good for an overnight stay”
Arrived late into Dunedin and this is a perfect hotel to stay for just the one night, very quiet and great restaurant.
Very good hotel”
A very comfortable and clean hotel located close to the octagon. Staff were very good and efficient. Would recommend this hotel to people coming to dunedin
Comfortable Hotel - Central Location”
Comfortable hotel though has the Casino in lower levels so extra people in and around foyers etc. Room was clean and easy walk to main centre hub of Dunedin.
Good location, nice staff”
very well located in the city, room was clean, well prepared and spacious. personally for us the bed was bit too soft, we requested for change. the staff happipy chnaged the bed to suit our requirement. i appreciate the efforts of the service staff to fix our bed. i am not sure how to rate parking. we paid fpr parking.
Comfortable night sleep on our way to Te Anau. ”
Nice sleep. Only complaint is that the internet was so SLOW and that we had to pay for parking! Otherwise good place to stay if you are visiting Dunedin.
Comfortable and quiet with good service ”
This was a great hotel with good service and comfortable beds that you just sink into. The only problem was trying to fill up the kettle from the bathroom sink - only just fits under the tap. The location is quiet but near enough to the high st, railway station and the Cadbury factory to walk. Would definitely book this hotel again.
