Great for the money”
The room was clean, but finishes and furniture were old. The water pressure was excellent and showering was enjoyable. The building is concrete construction so it was very quiet. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioner was relatively quiet and could be adjusted down to 60*F. The included breakfast was more elaborate the first time I stayed here (it included delicious breakfast burritos, yogurt parfait and fruit cups). The second time I stayed here they seem to have reverted to a more standard breakfast with the premium breakfast items absent. During both my stays, the merely ok speed wifi would sometimes drop out, but start working again a few seconds later. On my second stay I paid less than $50/night including tax with an agoda deal, which is half what I would normally pay for a similar hotel, and was very pleased with the value for money.
A little tired”
This is relatively inexpensive for a Scottsdale Motel this time of year. The facility is a little tired, but clean and well located. Any and all staff I had contact with were very friendly and nice. Breakfast OK and similar to most of these breakfast included places. Off the road so quiet. Long hallways and elevators only in the middle so might want to wear walking shoes. There are a lot of restaurants a stores nearby. Lots of parking.
Nice hotel ”
I liked that the hotel was very quiet. The highway is 30 seconds away. Portillo's is across the street, which is my all time favorite restaurant from Chicago. Mimi's cafe is within walking distance as well. The hotel serves numerous breakfast and coffee items in the morning. The hotel also didn't require me to submit a credit card to have on file even though I booked through a 3rd party website. In the room, there was a table w chairs for work. A separate area with a couch and TV. And the actual bedroom area also had a TV. Coffee maker, microwave and mini fridge as well. I would book here again.
Neither here nor there”
Overall, with only a 1 night stay, it wasn’t bad. There is nothing in particular that stood out as great about this location, but there was nothing worth mentioning that was bad either. I think it could be a little cheaper, but I suppose Phoenix is a pretty expensive city to be in anyways.
Nice location, reasonably priced. Facilities are a little old and there is a tatter here and there. However, seemed clean. Staff was very friendly and professional. Felt very welcome when checking in. Breakfast was typical for the breakfast included motels. Pretty quiet as it is off the main street a couple of blocks and nothing but office or medical around it. Bed was comfortable. A good value.
Great location. Great/Friendly night staff.”
We had booked online and had checked-in late. The night front desk person was VERY kind and got us in quick. The room is older with a partial remodel. The hallway carpets are older and worn. The place is functional and the free hot breakfast was fair to average. Needs a bit more work to look and feel fully modern. Lots of walking distance restaurants, etc. Bed was comfortable.
Don't go for breakfast”
Pros...nice enough room and clean enough. Room seemed a bit older but main areas were nice. Great location Cons...breakfast was horrible. Super watery scrambled eggs, very dry and sandy sausage links, undercooked sausage patties, all coffee was out and boiled eggs were sour.
Walls were pretty thin, noisy guests. My room was clean but was missing soaps and shampoo. Water pressure was great. Breakfast was nice. I liked the pancake machine. The Sausage tasted different than expected.
Rooms were extremely small. Would have been tight if 2 people shared room. With coffee pot on bathroom counter barely enough room for grooming supplies. Breakfast was ok.
The building needs a good maintenance go through. Breakfast was sparse and took staff time to restock. Mixed messages. They advertise supporting the environment with their choice of coffee but use styrofoam plates & bowls....very earth unfriendly. I didn’t think I’ll go back.
Hotel lobby is extremely dated. Carpeting is dirty in the lobby, crumbs were on the stairs for the 3 days we were there. Bath towels were so thin and small, hardly enough to dry a small woman. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean. But the price was right and I’d probably stay there again.
Awful experience due to front desk”
I prepared, to you, for two queen beds. When I got to the hotel to check-in Misty ( said she was the only supervisor available and there was no one else I could speak with ) said “ Great news we’re going to give you a free upgrade to a king suite. “ I asked if we still had two beds and no we did not it was a sleeper sofa. Since my 21-year-old son was traveling with us and I was trying to make this vacation very special with him we had to find another place for him to stay because she would not give me anything with two beds They worst part was her attitude! She was happy to be in control and tell me she would not help me ! Her unfriendliness made our trip start out just awful. Thank goodness for us we were able to check out and move the following day to a nice hotel with nice people. If they keep her on staff I guarantee unhappy customers
Maybe a little too quirky”
Their tag says they are a little quirky, which may have been a little too quirky for us. Let me start with the best: the bed was comfortable and we slept well, and it was relatively quiet for a motel. There are a handful of restaurants within a short walking distant. Breakfasts were ample and staff friendly. On the downside the place is dated and is in need of a complete modernization overhaul. It may be adequate for some, but overall,, we felt it to be of a marginal value and would recommend it to friends and family with caution.
Website showing amenities that don't exist”
Stay away from the Scottsdale Suites on Shea until they've completed their renovations, but no one at the hotel could tell me for sure when that would be. But even after the renovations I may not return. The reason I say stay away is because when going to the pool there are no lounge chairs - that's right - NO LOUNGE CHAIRS. There are chairs, but none to lounge on. So, if you want to lay out, you have to do it on concrete. The manager says the owner doesn't want to spend money on the chairs until the renovations are complete. What a cheapskate owner. He could at least get some cheap lounge chairs at Target or Walmart. Also, the shuttle service advertised in the website doesn't run anymore. It would have been really nice to have shuttle service to Salt River Fields for the spring training games we were there for. That's one of the reasons I picked this hotel was because of the shuttle service. As I said, stay away.
Good for price, wasn't clean at all.”
It was a fine stay for 2 nights. When we first got to our room though, it was disgustingly dirty. They had to move us to another room. The wifi did not work in the room, had to use my cell phone the entire trip. Included breakfast was standard breakfast, nothing special. Staff wasn't overly nice, they were just ok. Overall, for the price, good value, but don't set your expectations very high.
Barking dogs ”
Occupants in the middle of the second floor had one or two dogs. When the owners left for the evening, the dog(s) barked loudly and constantly! Many room occupants were heard in the hallway trying to quiet the dog(s). They should never have been allowed on the floor. I will never stay here again.
Awful. FYI....someone needs to let you know that there are NO LOUNGE CHAIRS at the pool! I was informed that “the owner decided not to put out broken chairs due to future renovations”!!!!! Who says that? Also, smells old and musty and someone smokes on our non-smoking floor. Worst experience ever. Hoping to figure out some sort of compensation.
I selected this hotel because it was listed as a host hotel for a popular horse show at West World. The breakfast was good. They provided a nice varity of different things each day. The hotel was in poor condition. The furniture in the lobby and rooms were old. There were several rolls and snags in the carpet throughout the hotel. The bathroom towels were so old, they felt like sandpaper. The beds were comfortable.
Visiting brother in Scottsdale. Shopping for home”
The floor in the bathroom had about 10 very long black hairs. 😱 The shower facet was nearly off the wall. It just didn’t feel clean. The remote was finicky ( probably a battery issue) We paid 650$ for 3 nights, The place could at least have been clean The staff was lovely, and my husband loved the free breakfast
The hotel needs updating. The staff were not overly friendly or helpful. ”
The pro of the hotel was the price and close to highway. Must have a car. No lounge chairs at pool. Bathroom in room old. Room wasn’t cleanest. But beds were comfortable. Really wish they had a shuttle to go to old town Scottsdale. Asked for recommendations for restaurants and only named the ones in front of hotel. Ended up finding other nice and good restaurants on my own.
