Best Resorts Ever!”

Clean room and nice view / Quiet and peaceful / Very kind staff

It was very quiet and peaceful resorts. Well constructed resorts, designed by the owner, has great sea view from every room. The room is huge and clean, high ceiling. The owner is german, he is very talented and humorous person who knows how to enjoy life, and makes guest feel comfortable. And every staff is well trained. They never said No and always smile. Diving, Snorkeling, boat trip, city tour, etc. every activity what you want is available except fishing. Every food and beverage is fantastic, especially Mango shake is very good. The price is acceptable range from 200-600PHP. Resorts is located in Dauin area app. 30min. away from Dumaguete City by Van which is provided by resorts. The Van is 300-600PHP for each way. Every moment while in this resorts is unforgetable. Best service and acceptable price, I think Sea Dream is best resorts ever in Dumaguete area. Don't hesitate to choose. PS. To Mr. Burkhardt : Don't forget your e-mail, Papa. ^^

Great Stay in a Great Place”

Staff, Rooms, Atmosphere

We stayed 3 nights during our trip to the Philippines and had a truly great experience at the Sea Dream Resort. The Staff was great, extremely friendly, always smiling and happy to help trying to satisfy all the requests. The Hotel is very well located and with a Jeepney or motorbike you can easily move around the area. Breakfast is excellent ( probably the best Bacon in Asia) and very decently priced. The Rooms are extremely spacious, comfortable & clean. The very quiet surroundings will allow you to recharge completely your batteries despite the fact you will be up often at 7am going on the several excursions the hotel and the Diving center can arrange for you. One particular huge Thank You to Matt & Karen from the Diving centre that took us snorkeling around Apo Island, swimming with Whale Sharks in Oslob & on our first trial dive! They were super nice and helpful! They also shared a great restaurant tip: Haya Hay! great food! Overall we had a great time and happy to recommend the hotel to anyone going to Dumaguete!

First Class Hotel”

Friendly Staff,Good Size Rooms, In room WiFi

One of the best small hotels I have stayed in, immaculate throughout, very nice room with large, comfortably furnished balcony overlooking the sea, quiet efficient AC, flat screen TV, WiFi in every room. Decent sized swimming pool and some comfortable, shady seating areas. The beach was very rocky and difficult to walk on even in beach shoes but we were aware of that before we booked so not a problem. Good restaurant, good mix of meals with a specials board every day. You can also request a meal to be cooked, as I did, and can recommend the seared tuna with teriyaki sauce. Something I did not expect was an English breakfast. The staff could not have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. We went into the local town Dauin, not much to see, some shops small market and old church. You can top up on your crisps (try the local pork crackling – called Ticheron I think). I can recommend the local Tanduay rum which we bought from a small shop in the market. You can get the air-conditioned bus into Dumaguete, just walk to the road and flag it down. Could not figure out the price, 100 pesos going and 200 pesos coming back. The jeepney is much cheaper at about 30 pesos. Getting around Dumaguete is easy using the tricycles, only 8-10 pesos around town. There is a large market, old church and sea front boulevard with good restaurants. We only went on one trip from the hotel, swimming with whale sharks. The hotel driver took us to the ferry port where we took the boat to one of the other islands, where he waited whilst we were taken by dugout canoe into the bay where we swam with the whale sharks. Very good experience.

A luxury hideaway in the Philippines”

Small and exclusive oasis of tranquility, combined with highest qualitiy of services

We arrived in Dumaguete by ferry at 9pm. Our boat was almost 2 hours behind schedule. Nevertheless, the manager of Sea Dream was awaiting us at the pier and drove us personally to the resort, he phoned up the cook to prepare a late dinner for us. The room was just breathtaking, with a unique view to the sea. We watched the sun rising from the sea the other day out of the bed. A nice breakfast gave us a good start into the day. We enjoyed the swimming pool and I was going jogging on a mountain path every day. All in all, a perfect holiday, Thank you.

Sea Dream is a cozy resort, i find it an ideal place to rest after going around the sights of Dumaguete. Its comfortable, quiet and clean. Its comfy just like home. Has instagram worthy landscaping too for for lovely pics :) Staff is very friendly and goes thr extra mile to cook food that’s not in the menu, loved the pancit bihon :) Over all, dining/food was ok for me but not for hubby, who wants traditional home cooking for Filipino food. Food looks expensive but if you consider the cost of transpo to the city, its reasonable.

Excellent”

Excellent resort with great swimming pool. If you're a beach person, you'll be disappointed - no sand and lots of rock, though with some reef shoes, you could snorkel OK. They do support dive trips, with a fully outfitted dive and snorkel shop that rents everything. Meanwhile, this is in Dauin - about 20 minutes south of Dumaguete proper. I picked it largely for that exact reason, so it was what we wanted - out of the way, quiet, and not a big problem to get downtown when we needed to. I'm an experience Philippine traveler, so I'm accustomed to using tricycles and chartering vans to get around. If you're not, the resort will help you set up their van, though I found their prices to be a bit more expensive than by going directly to a van service myself. (I used Rogr travel services). Very nice restaurant with moderately upscale food selections, nicely presented.

Great value for money, excellent staff”

Had an excellent 2 night stay at Sea Dreams The resort is very clean, rooms are very spacious, has a very relaxing pool area The restaurant at the resort is fantastic the meals are massive with great variety and the beers are cheap – all staff we encountered were excellent, very attentive and very friendly. We organised a boat trip to Apo though the hotel – unfortunately our boat wouldn’t start which had us worried however the staff at the hotel were able to quickly arrange a transfer to the port with another boat to take us over – crisis averted quite well. We had an excellent time and would love to return

This place is really special - relaxing to the max”

Beautiful and spacious European style rooms & excellent food

the overall quality of a stay at sea dream is hard to communicate. the rooms are very large and designed and constructed with a german sense of craftsmanship tempered with an asian feel. most of the furniture in the rooms is hand made from local materials. all of the rooms have an ocean view, and the nighttime sea breeze is cool and soothing. the personalized customer service is very impressive and the food prepared by the kitchen staff is tasty and a good value. filipino standard dishes and daily specials are excellent, and the breakfasts are very hearty. it's a small resort and the guests tend to be friendly but respectful of each other's privacy too. the pool is meticulously maintained, pleasantly cool, and a focal point of the landscape. for diving, snorkeling, sightseeing, or just relaxing it's a perfect place.

Nice and Dreamy Hotel”

(1) Cleanliness (2) Attentive Staff (3) Well-thought-out meal offerings

Our dreamy 4-day experience at the Sea Dreams Resort was a result of attentiveness and consideration from the part of both the staff and the owners. The room we stayed in was very spacious and we surmise that the linen provided were of a high thread-count. Though during most of this trip, we were out exploring, we believe that this hotel could have provided us with ample facilities for a laid-back stay. We commend the first-rate sound equipment and classical music that complimented mealtime in the dining area. A notable detail we saw was the well-stocked bar with a variety of liquor, brandy and wine. The lounge chairs were comfortably suited for the well-maintained swimming pool. In contrast to usual expectations of straight-forward accommodations, we found the owner to reflect the genuine characteristics of a good host, who appeared to be genuinely concerned for his guests' enjoyable and comfortable stay. However, we hope to point out small improvements that are critical due to the Resort's proximity to environmental gems such as the Apo Island. For example, they can do better in conserving electricity and water by not always having the air-conditioning on before the guests arrive in their rooms, and by giving guests options to have their linen not washed everyday. Lastly, they could give more consideration to the safety aspects of their facilities, as I experienced a rough accident in slipping on the thoroughly polished marble stairs going to the pool area.

Resort itself is wonderful! Room and Facilities are amazing. Location, however, is disappointing because it is far from the city. The hotel will charge you vehicle service to/from the city or any other destination for Php 500 to 900. But if you are a diver, this resort is the best choice since Dauin City is closest to beach area in Dumaguete.

Coral reef at your feet!”

Spotless, intimate, new resort.

This is the ideal place to get away from it all. There is a lovely coral reef with hundreds of fascinating creatures only a few yards off their quaint, rocky shore. The views of Apo and Siquijor Islands are especially pretty as sunrise silhouettes. The rooms and grounds are gorgeous. The food's terrific and many of the ingredients grown on site. Over four days we ate every breakfast and nearly every dinner on site. The staff was pleasant, attentive, and very accommodative . We had little desire need to leave the resort and only did to take a dive trip to Apo that the Sea Dreams easily arranged. This is not a fussy place. It is one of simple elegance.

Our best ever hotel and diving spot”

Superb hotel staff, great view, quiet ambience

It may be summed up as great --- nothing we have experienced before! The hotel staff were very attentive to our needs and requests. The room was clean, huge and nice with lots of storage drawers, although wi-fi connection was practically zero. We got what we wished for lunch and dinner although it was too much quantity for two people and also pricey (not that we are complaining); a bit of adjustment would be appreciated. There were very few guests this time of the year (September) and hence the place was very quiet and relaxing ---- fresh air, staff's warm smiles. It is also quite close to Apo Island which, according to my husband was the best he had been so far, not to metion the very reasonable diving rates of Gary F. It would have been a tad nicer if they did not charge for early check-in (almost 8am)since it was low season anyway and we checked-out quite early too (5am). Transportation for dining outside the hotel would Php1,200 round trip so we decided to stay in instead. We were quite happy to have 'sashimi' but disappointed that lobsters were not available. All in all, it was a truly lovelystay and we plan to go back. We hope the guest treatment wont change, even if it were high season with many many guests. Kudos to the Sea Dreams Hotel staff!!!

Beautiful setting and grounds. Wonderful rooms.”

The resort is very attractive, comfortable, and well maintained. German management makes a difference. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room and restaurant prices are good values.

Our stay at Sea Dreams at the start of out trip was so nice that we returned for a second stay for our last night on Negros. The rooms are large, pleasant, and well finished and appointed without being pretentious. Beds are comfortable. Balconies are spacious. The views from the rooms through a wall of wood framed French doors across the grounds to the ocean are wonderful. Rooms, buildings, and grounds are all thoughtfully designed and well maintained. Everything works and is kept up that way that it should be. The restaurant main room and patio are inviting and the food is excellent and fairly priced. The pool is huge. The pebbly beach is immaculate and the water is clean, clear, and warm.

Perfect Paradise”

The resort is perfect. The views are amazing. The food is delicious.

The whole experience was paradise. Sitting on the balcony and watching the sunrise on the horizon every morning was unforgettable. The restaurant serves fantastic food... all meals are freshly prepared. The staff are very attentive. The room, the "Executive", is very large with very high ceilings....lots of light, especially in the morning. Everything is always clean. There are about 15 rooms in total so the resort is quiet as well. The grounds are landscaped, everything looks like paradise. I recommend Sea Dreams 100%

Nice, new resort, good rooms, very friendly and competent staff. Good wifi. You can make trips to Apo Island and Tambobo Bay. If the weather is bad (it happened to us) then you have only the resort and pool. It takes 30min to Dumaguete and costs 1200Peso for their car. Good restaurant. Lovely!”

Peaceful, Ambience, Quality.

Thank you Sea Dreams for a wonderful stay! We were pleasantly surprised at the outcome arriving at this tranquil paradise despite the obscure location. The reception was friendly & relaxed & our room was spacious, clean, quality tasteful furnishings & inclusions with such a divine sea view. It is such a credit to the owner & staff to see the upkeep of the property to a very high standard where everything worked efficiently & the staff were very attentive at all times. The restaurant had a very pleasing decor & all the meals prepared were exceptional in fresh quality taste & presentation. Fortunately our stay was blessed with favourable weather & the day trip to Apo Island was also a highlight. Just a few minor detractions were the lack of sunblock curtains in the room & also evaluated the price of the Kymco. motorbike rental was on the high side @ PHP900 per day when most other resorts visited only charge around PHP300 per day for new bikes inclusive of helmet as a comparison. Thanks anyway for a lovely memorable stay.

Our stay over 2014 /15 ”

The bed was very comfortable,..... the staff were fantastic... room size was sensational.... meals were excelent and the chef catered for any change and or desire. The dive shop was brilliant

Was made to feel very special.... we sleppted well past room service time... but they always came back without us knowing and performed their duties admirably. Food was sensational... the chef is a true master.... staff were amazing... anything and everything was catered for.... and at anytime of the day or night... The Dive Shop associated were exceedingly good and very attentive. Rooms were large... clean... and had air-conditioning that worked well.... shower was hot and plenty of water..... TV was OK at best... quality of the picture for most (not all) stations was less that ordinary... but who stays for the TV anyway. The pool was beautiful and very well kept... very clean.... with a great view of the ocean to the south 20 meters away. The girls at the main office reception were very good... checked flights etc... anything you needed they new where and who... Sea dreams is 19Ks down the road from Dumagutie (and thankfully so) where it was a lot quieter... you can get busses, rent a car or motor bike... take a taxi.... if you have to go into town.... but why would you???

The hotel has a total of only 15 guest rooms but lots of space so you don't feel cramped, very friendly staff and excellent service, delicious meals

We stayed at the Sea Dream Hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful stay. Each one of the highly-trained service-oriented staff were very attentive to our every need but know when not to be obtrusive. The meals and cocktails in the cafe were delicious, they obviously have a very accomplished chef. The rooms were huge and comfortable with just the right amenities. The hotels design is modern south east asian, very clean, simple but elegant. They even offer free laundry of a limited amount of clothing per guest per day. I highly recommend this hotel.
