Cleanliness and food quality is at par with 5 star resorts. However, it would be great for a round the clock food service/since the cafe closes at 10pm. Also, phones or intercom are not provided so you need to step out from your room to look for a personnel or go to the reception for your requests.
A quiet retreat from the city”
The location is nice, quiet and in front of the sea (although beach is not good for swimming - which is reasonable as you cannot find any sandy beach within the island). It's around 20mins away from Dumaguete city but transpo via bus or jeepney is not very hard and expensive (around php30/head). We had superior room with sea view which is very spacious, clean and has a good view of the sunrise. The bath tub though is not very clean for a water dip. But overall, we loved the room. The staff are friendly although I think the reception staff needs some improvement. It would be nice if they are more knowledgeable around the area and would give honest travel tips and places to visit instead of being too biased in marketing their inside tour. We went Also, it would be better if they have a tricycle/jeepney contact who can take guests to the city as I heard some guests are being ripped off with very expensive travel fees. Kudos to Nico for his informative tips.
Beautiful location. Awesome food. Friendly staff. ”
CONS: 1. This resort doesn't have an intercon system so everytime we had a request, we needed to go to the receptionist area. 2. Our flight going back to Manila was very early in the morning, we had to leave to hotel at 4am. When we were ready to check out, the office was closed. Lights were switched off, even on the pathway. We had to use our mobile phones so we could see where we were going. Very unusual and inconvenient. When we asked the guard why it was like that, his response was "Ganun po talaga dito." Other than this unpleasant experience during our last day, I still recommend this resort.
Victoria's Heaven experiences ”
Victoria's Heaven is a real heaven in the world! I really enjoy the peaceful and respectful there! I love the decorations of Victoria’s heaven, the host’s taste is bravo! If I go there again, I would like to chose this hotel again! If you choose here, you wouldn’t regret your decision!
Very relaxing and enjoyable.”
One of the best resorts I have ever visited all food are there especially. Great view to the sea, clean & hygienic rooms. A good place to have time to relax. Everything is perfect!! This hotel is highly recommended!!
The hotel is beautiful with wonderful staff. However, the price is quite stiff when there is not even a coffee maker in the room, No breakfast included for 7,000 a night for 3 guests. The beach is quite icky and not swim able.
Overpriced and Everything is an extra charge!”
The hotel itself is set on nice grounds with a beautiful view of the water and Apo Island. The rooms are a good size and we had the sea view. The little extra charges are everywhere though. The ‘gym’ is 200 pesos per person per hour....the moped rental didn’t include helmets so they were another 30 pesos each which we were never told about until after we returned the moped. The resort also strictly enforced any outside food or beverage including a corkage fee of 40 pesos for each bottle of beer and 2000 pesos for a bottle of whisky. This is our first and last time visiting as there are better resorts in Dauin for a better price.
Dumaguete was a 2-day stop for us. Staying at Sea Dreams Resort was a pleasure. It has secluded location, quiet surroundings, with the beautiful pool and property. The hospitality and service of the workers is second to none. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
Sea Dream is a cozy resort, i find it an ideal place to rest after going around the sights of Dumaguete. Its comfortable, quiet and clean. Its comfy just like home. Has instagram worthy landscaping too for for lovely pics :) Staff is very friendly and goes thr extra mile to cook food that’s not in the menu, loved the pancit bihon :) Over all, dining/food was ok for me but not for hubby, who wants traditional home cooking for Filipino food. Food looks expensive but if you consider the cost of transpo to the city, its reasonable.
The resort is really very nice and clean. The place is more beautiful in person rather than in photos. The staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food was limited but very delicious. My only comment is that the bathroom is very small especially for us who stayed in a family room. Just surprising to have very spacious rooms but really small and unattractive bathrooms.
Nice resort but kinda far from the action”
Very nice resort grounds. Great pool area. The beach is really all big rocks but if you have water shoes the snorkeling was very good. (fee for using the beach). It was costly to catch a ride toward town so rent a motorcycle instead. very cheap & good quality bikes. Beach bar was limited but great view. No snacks or drinks available if the resto is closed.
Quiet Resort with very good standards”
We had a great time at this very nice resort. The staff is very friendly and attentive, the rooms nicely decorated and clean. I will never forget the beef-steak, the best I ever had in the Philippines! A very good address when staying in Dauin. The only negative thing is the "beach" if you can call it so.
Nice and Dreamy Hotel”
Our dreamy 4-day experience at the Sea Dreams Resort was a result of attentiveness and consideration from the part of both the staff and the owners. The room we stayed in was very spacious and we surmise that the linen provided were of a high thread-count. Though during most of this trip, we were out exploring, we believe that this hotel could have provided us with ample facilities for a laid-back stay. We commend the first-rate sound equipment and classical music that complimented mealtime in the dining area. A notable detail we saw was the well-stocked bar with a variety of liquor, brandy and wine. The lounge chairs were comfortably suited for the well-maintained swimming pool. In contrast to usual expectations of straight-forward accommodations, we found the owner to reflect the genuine characteristics of a good host, who appeared to be genuinely concerned for his guests' enjoyable and comfortable stay. However, we hope to point out small improvements that are critical due to the Resort's proximity to environmental gems such as the Apo Island. For example, they can do better in conserving electricity and water by not always having the air-conditioning on before the guests arrive in their rooms, and by giving guests options to have their linen not washed everyday. Lastly, they could give more consideration to the safety aspects of their facilities, as I experienced a rough accident in slipping on the thoroughly polished marble stairs going to the pool area.
New Hotel witha superb Restaurant”
the stay was to short as I enjoyed the awesome Sunrise in the morning and my mind was flushed by the awesome kitchen. Anyway the downsite is the location as you have to travel quite a bit from Dumaguette and the BEach is not exisitng. Maybe if you have more time you sshould def. go for the dive on one ofe the islands nearby.
5 STAR RESORT 6 star food!”
5 stars all the way 6 for the amazing food and I never have had such praise for a resort cheff before this visit. Amazing! The owners wife was so wonderful and on our last day we met the owner. Such friendly hosts! Sea Dreams is a dream !
Perfect. The staff are super nice and friendly. the reef right out front was great for snorkeling ( we saw turtles, stingrays, sea snakes and tons of other fish). The pool is nice, Breakfast is good and the rooms are super cozy. Feels more like a mediterranean resort.
Great hotel excellent staff will stay here again.”
This was my second stay at this hotel and will be back again in a few weeks, the staff were always there to help with a smile on there face. The property is in great condition the rooms are kept clean and look new. Excellent plated breakfast with lots of choices. No ned for me to stay at any other hotel while in the Dumaguete area.
Tiny hide away hotel with excellent ocean view”
We stayed in a standard room which is big enough for two of us. The room was nicely decorated and clean. Some opportunity with bathroom odor. Also no coffee/tea or water service - need to pay for every little thing. On positive side, you get free cleaning for up to two pieces. Breakfast is OK level. Food overall is expensive for the local standard but within acceptable range considering the quality.
Amazing Staff made our stay very special”
We only stayed for 2 nights but had a brilliant time. We were given a beautiful room that the staff had decorated with rose petals for our anniversary. Great view over the pool looking out to sea. The hotel is close to Apo island and the staff will organise a diving trip for you, definitely worth doing, you can also swim/snorkel with giant sea turtles here. The staff were so friendly and really went the extra mile to make our stay special. Including presenting us with a complementary cake after our dinner to celebrate our anniversary. Seriously these guys were fantastic! The other highlight was the food. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious, they had a good variety in their menu with specials changing daily. There isn't really anywhere else to eat but you wouldn't want to. If I ever go back I will 100% be staying here, absolutely loved it. Thanks for a great stay!
Great place to relax, wind down and take advantage”
Generally very good, attentive staff very comfortable rooms and reasonably priced food. Unusually for a resort like this you can also rent out motorcycles including BMW's ;they had a 650 cc trail bike as well as RT1200's and a few other big bikes of note. Hope to return before too long.
