Beautiful and serene”
I stayed at sea hut home stay for a couple of days in final week of Feb. It was very comfortable the staff was nice and helpful. The best part about this homestay is its courtyard. There are beautiful tall trees there are hammocks if you just want to just feel the laidback ambience. There is a straight passage to the beach and you get to see amazing sunset view. The property is well maintained, clean and accessible. The breakfast was simple but sumptuous. Also the owner has a dog and couple of cats(they never bother any guests). I would strongly recommend this for a peaceful and enjoyable stay.

Charming Beach Vibe ”
Though the beach is not directly accessible from this lovely little homestay (there is a rock wall separating it from the sea), the grounds are in and of themselves a beach! Walk outside your door and sink your feet into the sand ... chill out in a hammock or enjoy the view of the sea from atop the rock wall. At night the property is lit with a canopy of twinkling fairy lights that add to the charming vibe. Rooms are decent and of good value for the money. A special shout out to the owner here who went above and beyond to help me sort out a glitch in my travel plans and assisted me in getting to my next destination. Lovely people!

Excellent friendly home base!”
We decided to stay at Sea Hut after seeing all the positive reviews, and their reputation is well-deserved. It's a no-frills kind of experience, with nice, clean, recently refurbished bedrooms, excellent service and warm attention from "mom and dad" and a cute little sandy garden with hammocks in front of the patio. You need to order lunch or dinner three hours in advance if you want to eat there, but otherwise breakfast is included every morning. Over the wall there is the Arabian Sea, where you can watch the fishermen in the morning and the evening sunsets. The sound of the waves at night is also very peaceful. We went to Kochi/Cochin mainly for the Bienniale and to take in the ambience. But we were also there for New Year's Day, which is when the wonderful and flamboyant Cochin Carnival takes place. This homestay isn't quite within walking distance down to the Fort Cochin area and those artsy sites but on the other hand it's a cozy and beautiful old neighborhood if you stroll inland and take one of the small residential roads north, with colorful homes and people waving hello. We were very glad NOT to be in the touristy area with all the traffic and chaos and hustle. And it's just a cheap auto rickshaw ride up to that area. Walking in the extreme heat is no fun but it takes about 40 minutes to get up to the tourist sites on foot if you avoid midday and enjoy the cooler afternoon. I highly recommend Sea Hut and look forward to staying again very soon!

Never had a nicer staff”
It's hard to overstate the value of good hosts in a homestay. The matriarch in particular was the most wildly compassionate and hilarious person I've met in India. You local food? They'll cook it. Trip arranged? They'll take care of it. The place itself is extremely cozy, has a small plot of sand, with some mammoth hammocks, and is just beside the Sea. The only thing that would make it better is closer proximity to Fort Kochi proper, but if you rent a bike, it's really no trouble at all. I'd stay there again without second thought.

Relaxing and rejuvenating”
After a busy time traveling it was a joy to walk down the quiet lane leading to Sea Hut Homestay. What I loved most was being able to relax outside in the sandy, coconut tree shaded garden in one of the hammocks. Bliss. Our room was spacious, very clean and with a super comfortable bed and a great mosquito net. No need for AC. The two fans and the sea breeze made for a relaxing sleep. Hema, Anthony and Sarath were so welcoming and incredibly warm hosts. Wonderful homecooked dinners too. Highly Recommended.

Nice family running the place! ”
The family was very nice and helpful and even packed us breakfast when we had to leave for a trip! They also arranged a great backwater boat trip. They sold us tickets for a traditional indian dance show but the good seats were given to other touristic companies so we ended up sitting all the way in the back. It was very clean and bottled water was always provided. The location is a 40 minute walk from fort kochi where everything is, so we ended up taking a tuk tuk daily (50-70 INR). Also there is no sea view as they have had to build a wall to keep the waves out and you can’t swim there. Another issue was that the hot water in the shower kept running out. We do recommend having dinner in town as there are great and more affordable options. Also, there are no options to take a cooking class with the family that some homestays have . It is more like a family run Bed and Breakfast. Overall it was an ok stay but I think we were expecting more involvement with the family.

Great place to relax”
I would not hesitate to recommend this homestay. The rooms are very comfortable and the service provided by these friendly people is very comforting. It is adjacent to the sea and while you cannot really swim there because of the sea wall , it really is most pleasant to hear and view the sea so close.

The most homely homestay!”
It was by far the best homestay experience! The place is so ideally loacted, quiet and right at the sea, just climb 5 steps to sit and by the rocks and enjoy the hostess Hema's tea! Lovely to laze on the hammocks all day and hear the sound of the waves! The Kerala style breakfast was great and the best wifi connection I could say! More than anything else, one could feel so much at home with the family being so warm! The mosquitoes in the evening were the only spoiler to an otherwise quiet tucked away beautiful little home stay!

A little piece of paradise”
After 2 weeks cycling around Kerala this was the perfect place to recover and relax. Wonderful hosts, great home cooked food and lovely rooms. About 2km outside Fort Cochin but less than £1 for an auto and you won't find anywhere as nice as this in town. Walk about 100 metres along the sea wall and there is a small beach where you can swim or just sit and watch the fishermen.

Couldn't be more perfect.”
Ticks all the right boxes starting with the friendliest of homestay owners we've come across. They even provided us an Appam-stew meal at short notice instead of the simple toast that was promised. The location was perfect, falling asleep to the sound of the ocean waves crashing into the rocks 10 meters away was a winsome experience. The rooms were very clean and the surroundings were well maintained. Could not recommend the place more.

Lovely spot, lovely family”
Slept better than I have in months. Nothing like the sound of waves to soothe sleep. Remarkably wonderful host family, delicious breakfast, friendly dog and cats, spotlessly clean. The only drawback is the distance from town, but then again, that is also one of the best things about it, it's tranquility. Tranquility versus convenience, take your pick. But wonderful Homestay.

Overall good stay, but some major hiccups as well”
In general, this was a nice Homestay. It was clean, peaceful & we enjoyed relaxing in the provided hammocks. We had a nice time on the Backwaters Boat Tours they recommended to us & appreciated the taxi they arranged to the train station. Two things of note though: 1. I asked our host twice if he could help us check our Railway PNR status to see if train schedule / time had changed. Both times he said no, it wasn't necessary. Consequently, when we showed up an hour early (we thought) for our 23:30pm overnight train to Goa, it had already departed an hour prior at 21:30pm. We ended up having to book into another hotel for the evening & make new travel arrangements. All told this cost both of us around $200 apiece. We felt this was definitely something that could have been avoided if he would've helped us check the train status that afternoon like we asked. 2. There was a major miscommunication regarding our request to have dinner at SeaHut on Christmas Night. Possibly due to partial language barrier, they misunderstood us and prepared dinner on Christmas Eve instead, which we did not need, as we had already eaten dinner in town & gone to bed. The host did prepare a veg dinner for two other guests at the last minute Christmas evening, but possibly due to the misunderstanding from prior evening, this option was not offered to us. With most restaurants being closed for holiday, this left us with no dinner options prior to our late night departure. :-(

sleeping to the sound of the sea”
We spent a coiple of nights here and really enjoyed the relaxing location. The sea was just over the wall and every night we were able to fall asleep to the sound of the waves. The staff were very helpful in aranging our trips and taxi to the train station. Relaxing on the verhanda with a cold beer at the end of the evening was a great way to unwind. One of the best things was the friendly dog who was always happy to see us.
