Basic beach hotel in an area with little to do”

Hotel located directly on Cherai Beach, further up north, i.e. away from the crowds. Cherai Beach in general is a beach frequented mostly by locals from surrounding villages. If you are a foreigner, be prepared to be stared at all the time (as mentioned, there isn't any crowd at the hotel directly). The beach in front of the hotel is not very wide and there arent't any people who relax on beach towels. Best to enjoy the ocean in the water, and to enjoy the view from the room's balcony (not all rooms have sea view). There isn't much to do around the hotel. There are no bars and no other restaurants. Best to use to hotel's roof top restaurant (which tends to heat up a lot - please install fans!). The food (Indian) is quite yummy.

Good beach side hotel with sea views and balconys”

Stayed for 1 night here whilst staying in India. This hotel is one of the few (if only) hotels right on the beach at Cherai beach. We paid for the highest priced room as we wished to ensure we got a room with a sea view. We were allocated a first floor room with a sea view so that was good. The room opened on to a balcony where you could sit and look out across the beach and sea. At breakfast we were lucky enough to see a dolphin swim by. The air conditioning in the room was good. Only thing that I would say is that whilst the location is great, if I was being completely impartial, the bathroom was average standard and we couldn’t seem to get any hot water out of the shower in the morning. Nevertheless, I would recommend here if you are able to get a sea view room. The only other negative is that the breakfast/ meal area is on the rooftop and whilst covered, its open in parts, so gets very hot.

The owner was kind enough to honor my reservation 2 days late due to a faux pas of ending up at another hotel called Sealine also 2 mins down the road from this other sealine hotel

Over-priced and basic”

I booked this guesthouse through Agoda and quickly became aware that in doing this I paid well over the odds for the accommodation. There are quite a few other places nearby, that are of the same standard or better at a much cheaper price. My advice is for you to either call directly, or just turn up. Cherai Beach is not a busy destination (at least when I went), so there is accommodation available all along the island. The staff were friendly enough at Sealine, but I found them slightly insincere if I am honest; the smiles seemed a little forced. The rooms were of a good size but rather dull. With its location there could be so much more of a seaside feel but it all seems hidden away when inside the building. Wifi didn't work anywhere other than in reception.

Very friendly hotel with lovely beach”

Very pleasant 2 night stay, great beach, nice rooms, restaurant reasonable, beer :-) highlight was the dolphin visiting the beach. Very friendly and accomodating staff.

Bang On The Beach!!”

This hotel is on the Cheria beach in cochin. The good thing about this hotel is that its bang on the beach and the best part is that the locals don't come to the beach in front of this hotel, so you have your private beach just for you. The rooms are really big, the restaurant is just basic but you can go to a nice European restaurant just 5 mins walk. Overall my stay here was peaceful and enjoyable.

Fantastic Location - reasonable hotel”

The hotel is right on an uncrowded beach with no beach sellers and a wonderfully warm sea. The staff are superb and will organise anything you ask.

Not worth the price”

Other than the proximity to the beach, there is no way I would pay the price I did for the room we had. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't particularly clean and I felt scammed when I saw our room. It was basically a motel in a prime location.

Two and a half star”

Internal Phone System had problems, Reception executive missing most of the time, Had to request every time for WiFi to be switched on, Had to step out of the room for the spectacular view of the sea, Restaurant closed between lunch and dinner times, could hear people in the adjacent room's bathroom. Sleep-able.

Très déçu”

Mauvaise surprise : la chambre qu’on me donne ne correspond pas au descriptif d'Agoda.com : en fait de vue sur la plage j’ai une vue sur un mur ! On m’en propose une autre avec une petite vue mer, mais la Wifi promise ne passe pas. Je dois finalement débourser 7 euros de plus par nuit, pour avoir une chambre convenable (qu’ils appellent suite sans que cela le soit) ce qui la met à 61 euros par nuit avec petit-déjeuner. En fait de suite, c’est une grande chambre avec vue sur la mer, balcon, petite salle de bain, frigo-bar et clim que je ne peux régler moi-même ! La Wifi n'y fonctionne pas, ou très mal (sauf de minuit à 5H du matin. Seul bon point : le personnel essaye de faire de son mieux.

Tolle Lage direkt am Meer”

Das Hotel liegt wirklich direkt am Meer und verfügt über Holzliegen am Strand. (Die Wellen haben es aber in sich!) Vom Fenster und Balkon blickt man ebenfalls direkt auf das Wasser und man hört immer das Meer. Das Zimmer war zwar relativ klein dafür aber schön eingerichtet. Das Bad war mit Seife, Shampoo, Toilettenpapier und Handtüchern ausgestattet. Es gab leider nur kaltes bis lauwarmes Wasser.
