Beautiful eco-tourism Paradise”

Crystal clear water, 4 different beaches, turtles

Me and my husband booked at Secret Paradise Resort for a night but we had to extend our stay as first step at the resort we fell inlove with this place already and felt like like we dont wanna leave this place without seeing every bits of it. The four different white sandy beaches is so beautiful, staying in turtle beach gives you more privacy and peaceful. kayaking to sanctuary and hide away beach was amazing mostly when you see turtles underwater. the water was so clear and colorful, corals were beautiful and had to snorkel morning and afternoon as many beautiful underwater creatures to see from fishes to turtles. The cottages was lovelyn and clean with balcony and front view of sunset, just watching the fishes jumping ups and downs from the crystal clear water was fun. Restaurant food was great got different choices every night crab, shrimp, fish, squid as part of 3 course meal for only 595 great value. Eventhough they are a remote area the fisherman delivers different fresh sea foods everyday. All you wanted was in this resort with only 6 cottages from the cofy cottages with aircon, hot water shower after swimming and wifi. WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ITS ECO-TOURISM AND ITS BEAUTY AND RELAXING ATMOSPHERE.

Turtle Sanctuary in Paradise ”

Fantastic. Truly paradise. Excellent

This is our second visit at secret paradise resort As this place was a great place for our vacation in palawan philippines. This place made our holiday fantastic. The very first day, travelling to the resort via port barton road was fun using a 4x4 provided by the resort if you book your transfer with them as before we go through sabang by boat, the boat ride through the port barton islands was amazing. Step on a white soft sandy beach of the resort, the staff welcomes you with a refreshing drinks and gives you information of the resort amenities and activities. Our cottage was lovely and clean native style cottage but with comportable bed with aircon toilet was clean and modern with hot shower 24hrs oh the power runs 5.30pm till 7:00 in the morning so you enjoy the aircon or breeze of ceiling fan. Sitting down in your balcony beachfront and watch the sunset go down or just watched the the shining stars at night. Food in the restaurant was tasty and good and you have a lot of choice in their menu or in the special set meal they have everyday fresh seafood brought by the fisherman. I love snorkelling here as i have seen lots of fish and turtles and beautiful color corals which grown more from last year i have been here mostly the turtles they have a lot now. Island hopping organized to the resort was great whole day in the islands they prepared your food and drinks so you just have to sit and relax or go snorkelling! I highly recommend this place as there are too many things to do activities, kayaking, snorkelling, island hopping or hiking to the viewpoint which overlook the turtlebay and other islands of port barton. We will be back again to this place Thanks for making our stay at your resort like a 5 star!

Excellent vacation to a paradise”

Beach, snorkeling, turtles

Travelling going to the resort was fun as the resort van driver treat us like VIP’s and very friendly and funny. Our boat ride was great seeing all the other islands on the way to the resort. We got to a large beautiful cove, the boats man said, this is all secret paradise resort, all 4 private beaches for you and 9 other guest. We upgraded to a superior cottage, as it was much bigger with air-con and Tv. Lying on the balcony hammock after we had a big lunch with the view of the beach and the bay in-front of us was great. Latter we went snorkeling with free equipment and saw, not one, but 2 turtles. I posted one picture here. The coral was also beautiful color. The fresh sea food was perfect. We extended 3 nights as we could not leave this place. Try the sauna, hiking, island hopping and free kayaks to beach 4. Note: we saw turtles on our first 2 days, but not our last 2. the manager said, we operates and protects turtle bay, but all turtles and fish are free to go where they want so some days even she doesn’t see. Well done for protecting turtle bay and the forests around. We will be back soon and hope this review helps.

Eco-friendly Paradise with no Crowd”

Beaches, cottage, everything

firstly i want to say well done for the protection program, the resort does for their own marine sanctuary. there are not many places left inthe world that care about the environment. we thought about booking the resort private transfer as its stated on this website it was cheaper, but after reading some of their guest reviews .saying it is expensive, we decided to do it all ourselfs, which is a big mistake. arriving in puerto princesa airport we saw the sign official toursm rates is 5,500 pesos to port barton we got the price down to 5,200 but had to wait long time at the airport for driver to take us. arriving in port barton the tourism informed us there is no boat available as we arrive late in the afternoon all boats are busy. price 1,800 for the boat ride we did not want to wait another few more hours so have decided to call the secret paradise and we was lucky as there boat was available which cost 1,600 only but had to wait for them 45minutes to come and pick us up and drive us to the resort, getting to the resort was fantastic as staff welcomed you with a big smile and make you feel at home. the food was lovely and tasty and every night was a different specialty. the owners greet us and such a nice couples. i will be back with my family as this is a great vacation ever in Port barton palawan.

PARADISE WITH TURTLES - NOWHERE BEATS THIS !”

unique peaceful beautiful unspoilt paradise nature reserve, baby turtles released into sea, snorkelling with fantastic fish, turtles & corals

Paradise with all the extras, aircon, hot water, mini bar and tv/dvd also - but I didn’t use. Staff very friendly and helpful – nothing too much trouble. Food very tasty and varied – you could choose from the large menu or I especially enjoyed the different 3 course meal special of the day at a very reasonable price compared to other island resorts I visited. Fresh different sea food delivered most days from the local fisherman, delicious. Once you’ve paid for the cottage, most other things are free, snorkel gear, kayaks, tea/ coffee, WIFI and coconut oil (although there were no flies but still smelt great on my skin). Private transport from the airport was an adventure and I thought expensive, but after talking to the owner, he explained that the resort transport is at least 10-20 % cheaper than the tourism official rates. I checked up on this online at the resort with travel agents and it was true. Plenty to do in this beautiful calm bay – walk to the fantastic viewpoint and also the local fishing village, kayak to 2 other private Robinson Crusoe beaches for utter seclusion, (the resort has 4 private beaches here in their own 2 coves) sauna, massage, billiards and island hopping to the most fantastic fish, corals, waterfall with lunch cooked on a beach. The 2 highlights of my holiday in Philippines was snorkelling every morning in turtle bay and also seeing baby turtles in the resorts turtle sanctuary, then releasing them at sunset into the sea. I recommend book early, as I had to book though 2 different online travel agents just to get 2 nights stay here, but extended 6 more nights due to a cancellation. I love this unique place and congratulate them on all the awards this year they have for eco-tourism, can’t wait to go back! Best so far in the Philippines. Have good holiday!!!

Paradise with no Sandflies”

quiet, peaceful, Amazing 4 private white sandy beach

This was our 2nd visit at Secret Paradise Resort our first was 2 years ago. the resort was totally changed, we have stayed in a 5 star hotel in el nido but we paid 4 times more money that what we paid here. Our cottage was the cheapest price as they have no other available, but we still had aircon, and 24 hours hot shower which is really good, and the best of all is the hammock on our balcony where you can just sit down, relax, and watch the fishes jumping in the sea, most of all exciting watching the turtle head coming up. Free snorkel, mask and fins was great, makes me go swimming all the time to see the big turtle swimming in the bay. Great food, even though one time there was no fish in the menu the owner of the resort mark said that is because of the fisherman did not catch any fish the day before, but the other night we had the choice of lobster, squid or even crabs. and they also have wi-fi which is good for us to sometimes check our emails. We travel every 2 years in the Philippines to visit our family, and we will definitely be back for longer stay neaxt time. Thank you for the best relaxing vacation ever.

An absolute gem”

The Secret Paradise Resort is a gem of a place. If you are looking for the nearest thing to a remote style location, this could be it. The resort offers both the more organic option in the way of accommodation plus the more modern option if required & both have there merits. Whichever option you choose it's the setting that is the gem and one not to be missed, best snorkelling area we found in the Philippines, plus if you get to see a turtle then that's a bonus. Yes they did run out of some things in the restaurant but remember this is remote area in Palawan, so if something is off the menu it shouldn't really be a problem, or at least we didn't think so. We stayed there for 3 nights but another night wouldn't have gone amiss but if you do get the chance to stay there even for one night, do it as it is a great place to chill out & relax.

A Real Bit Of Paradise”

The location and views are second to none, Theres a wide range of activities and tours on offer and the staff are fantastic

Me and my wife spent 7 nights at the resort and we really didn't want to leave, it is such a beautiful place to stay and was a perfect way to finish off our honeymoon. The accommodation is fantastic,The views are amazing and the rooms very clean and tidy, there's nothing better than waking each morning and stepping out of the door onto a beautiful white sand beach. We had a great day out visiting the underground river and spent many hours snorkelling over the 2 coral reefs that lie in the bay. As far as the staff go we really can't praise them enough. Every member of the staff is so friendly and helpful and they did everything they could to make our stay extremely enjoyable. Me and my wife will definitely be returning to the secret paradise resort in the future and to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Palawan I highly recommend staying there, you certainly won't be disappointed.

The Resort is the Perfect chilled out-getaway.”

Location - Staff - Food

Our trip was amazing and we were so lucky with the weather arriving a few days after a storm. Sadly this caused lots of mess on the Beach this was the only negative from our stay. Every other element was so special and highly recommended. The transfer from Palawan by 4x4 and Boat was amazing to experience and was very efficient. Arriving at Secret Paradise Resort was fabulous, really like something from a movie stepping ashore to be created by the staff on our own tropical beach. The rooms were great, and even the limited electrical power was no issue. Food was superb with good variety and fresh fish caught daily. The attention to detail in the chef's handy work was so impressive for every meal. We would highly rate this resort and gladly visit again, one point to note is the protection from Mosquito and Mites. Any precaution will not go wasted. Phil and Elisa

Total relaxation while observing natures best.”

Peace and tranquility, amazing flora and fauna / aquatic life and great food.

We had an fantastic trip and left the resort totally relaxed. We saw tons of wildlife including monkeys, birds and butterflies. The marine life was amazing, we saw hundreds of tropical fish and turtles while canoeing over the coral reef which is only meters from the beach. Our beach front cottage was lovely and had a view to die for. The food in the restaurant was also very good with plenty of choices of both asian and european dishes, including fresh sea food. All the resorts staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the local area and wildlife. We were very sad to leave Secret Paradise, we will definitely be back.

This hotel lives up to its name!”

Stunning location, nice rooms, friendly staff

We loved our 10 day stay at Secret Paradise. The location is fabulous on a beautiful secluded beach with good snorkelling (we saw numerous fish and also turtles). The resort is tastefully designed to give it a natural look which blends in well with the surrounding area. We saw many beautiful butterlies there. The orchid cottage was very nice and comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was a bit hit or miss but mainly good. We went on several trips which we really enjoyed - the underground river, fishing village, island hopping and walk to the viewpoint are all to be recommended. This was a truly relaxing break and we would particularly recommend spending time in one of the hammocks strung between palm trees on the beach!

Best stay in palawan”

Everything about this place was amazing! It's not a huge 5 star resort but that was the best part. Had less than 16people for the whole stay. It was very quite and relaxing! words can't describe!

From the moment we arrived we fell in love! This place is a must if you're heading to Palawan! It is extremely affordable!, comfortable, and so relaxing. If you're honeymooning or trying to get away from the city, this should be a priority for you! The breakfast was fantastic. It is also the perfect location for the sunset and it sets down the center of the bay. We wanted to stay longer and could not say enough good things about this place. You must see for yourself! Thankyou secret paradise resort! We hope we can stay with you again!

1 years on-TRUE PARADISE NOW”

The view was amazing and the wild life,it is truly a paradise. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

What a difference one year makes. Last year, yes it was paradise the beaches and sea, but the resort itself had a buget feel with not many comforts. This year i read lots good review so had to come back. Firstly, the resort really went out there way to arrange our private transfer from Elnido to them by land and sea. Good comfortable pajero air-con car. When arrived at the resort, we got a welcome drink and was informed about the improved resort and the activities that were available. Now all their cottages have air-con, fridge , hot water and tv, with the resort running all night power. The food greatly improved and a large menu that is delicious and reasonable. Try the native sauna, kayaking and island hopping tour. But the best experience was snorkelling with 3 turtles in 1 day, amazing. Well done for your protection program and the improvements. Down side, the road to port barton is still bumpy and takes 45mins, we saw many trucks cementing this road which is due to be done next year, great for the resort, maybe not great for us if we cant get a room next time. Will be back.

Paradise found!”

This place is amazing! The most perfect secluded location. Beautiful clear, blue, turquoise waters. The soft white sand makes a perfect location for all of the nesting turtles. This place is doing amazing things for the turtle population. We have been very lucky and in our two times visiting we have gotten to witness each step in the turtle laying, hatching and releasing process. It really is an incredible special place. If your looking for a 5 star pretentious resort this is NOT it! It is however a 5 star location with wonderful accommodations. There are newer more modern spacious rooms as well as more authentic bungalow styles which we prefer. Really friendly and helpful down to earth staff and the owner is the great guy you just might be having a drink with at the bar. His passion for the cove and future of the turtle population and wildlife there is one of the many things that makes this place so great! There is a good amount of food options on the menu and the food is great. They also have additional daily specials with fresh catches from the local fishing village. A retreat for the mind body and soul. The most amazing thing of all is how secluded the beaches are. Having the opportunity to be on the most picturesque beach where you can snorkel right in your front yard and not be surround by lots of other people is rare. The limited amount of really comfortable accommodations make this possible. It's magical and I can't wait to go back from a third time! Do your self a favour and don't consider staying less than 5 nights. It's just that good!

Splendid Isolation”

The turtles, isolated peaceful location, variety of activities.

The long journey from Puerto Princessa was totally worth it! This resort is tranquil, exclusive and lives up to its name - Secret Paradise. We loved it and would not hesitate to book again here. The one main concern we had was with the poor quality of the food that was available at lunch/dinner time, (breakfast was good though). They did however pull out all the stops for our "special occasion" meal. We had a lovely evening - thank you to Pong and the resort manager. I would urge everyone to take advantage of their planned trips and activities (island hopping, massage, sauna, special occasion dinner, etc.) as they are all worthwhile. To add the cherry on the cake, on 2 of the 3 nights we were there we witnessed the "birth" of some 117 turtles! Keep up the good work. Much appreciated.

True Paradise!”

Location, Activities, Scenery, Rooms

From the moment I walked onto the resort it was just Paradise! The backdrop to where the resort is placed is beautiful the sunsets are a joy just to sit down on the beach and watch. The wildlife are a real gem swimming with marine turtles in the bay is an experience to behold. The staff are fantastic and always on hand to help and are very knowledgeable. The facilities are very authentic especially the native sauna there. Rooms are spacious clean and comfortable to have your own cottage is great only thing is there was no TV but honestly didn't need it with views I had! Food was yum I experienced local delights especially the squid, crab and lobster caught locally. Definitely take up the island hopping very good fun. Looking forward to next time.

Charming stay with nature”

Turtles laying eggs, service and scenery

It's a little tough to reach the place but it is a worthwhile effort to get there. The owner Mark oversees the conservation of the turtles and make effort to share his knowledge with his guest. The manager, Pong, is super friendly and hospitable. Do check out the hideaway beach where you get complete seclusion. The resort only have 7 cottages, hence you will get loads of privacy. The seafood is really fresh and dessert is really nice. Definitely worth a visit to this place if you are in Palawan!!
