Bornean :)”
This apartment is great for relaxing from the hustle and bustle of the city, the space is very comfortable, spacious and the sea view is very pleasant and all the staff are very nice and helpful during my stay there. Thank you all! This place is located not far from Tekek town about 4.8km walk for more than 1 hour. Selesa Tioman Apartment also provides motorbike rentals to make it easy to get around. There are 2 beaches close to this Apartment, you only need to walk in 15 - 20 minutes. Overall very satisfying!

Excellent”
1. Have cooking facilities . some room has cooking stove. All rooms have rice cookerµwave 2. Condo concept . Thus have separate rooms and living room with sofa and dining table. 3. Rooms have nice seaview and large swimming pool. Really peaceful with privacy 3. Location reachable to Kg Tekek town towards right & a beautiful clean and crystal clear water with a small island reachable during low tide towards left. Some other bay is secluded which means difficult to find food/restaurant and away from duty free store. From Selesa Tioman towards right you will pass Berjaya Hotel. At Berjaya Hotel entrance , there are one Malay and one Chinese Restaurant next to beach. 4. There is hourly shuttle . Just wait at the lobby and let the counter know. 5. Staff is real friendly and ready to help . The manager will make you feel at home. 6. You can purchase Island Hopping from front desk or purchase from Kg Tekek Town. 7. I was hopping they had buffet breakfast

Beautiful hotel on a beautiful island”
We could not believe that some people had scored the Selesa so low because we had a lovely 5 days there and couldn't fault the apartments. Yes they may be slightly dated but they were really clean, so so spacious (we had 2 bedrooms!) and the air con worked perfectly. The pool was absolutely beautiful and it was huge, and the hotel put a free shuttle on every hour into town. There is a private beach a 10 minute walk away or you are welcome to use the facilities at the Berjaya down the road, which is a luxury hotel right on the beach. The Selesa just needs to market itself better and it would be booming! We would definitely return and the Tioman Islands themselves are stunning! Best scuba diving we've ever done.

Relaxing and affordable holiday, great sea view”
We were looking for a relaxing holiday to de-stress and recharge our batteries. A friend recommended Tioman islands and we are happy we took their advice. On surfing the net, we came across Selesa and found it an attractive stay option, both for the facilities and the rates. Selesa Tioman offers a unique condo arrangement not too common in India. It allowed us to set our own pace - be it for eating, or sight seeing or plain unwinding. No pressure from staff at any time. But they were very quick to respond when approached. I would recommend that their kiosk can be better stocked as there are captive customers (guests) to buy the stuff. Our living room was sea-facing and the view was fantastic - you could untiringly gaze at the shimmering multi-coloured waters and a tiny strip of beach from the balcony! There was lush greenery too, to complete a picturesque scene. Totally peaceful - no sounds to break the quiet but for the occasional motor boats ferrying tourists to nearby spots. The hotel has a shuttle service going to the nearby Berjaya Hotel which is more 5-star acco complete with golf course, multi-cuisine restaurants and spa. You can opt to stay in the condo and go to Berjaya for food and other activities - that works out quite smoothly. We went snorkelling arranged through the hotel and that was a nice experience to see the corals in the sea bed. Other activities such as diving, trekking are also available. The islands are relatively unspoilt and well-preserved and therefore score high on natural beauty. If you are looking for a peaceful relaxing holiday with limited activities and more of quiet, this would work well. As the rates are affordable, they give you the option of spending more on fun and leisure activities outside. On the whole, a pleasant stay for us

Cheap, basic, but a nice beach and access to more”
It's fine if you're clear on what to expect. Selesa is part of Condotel, which is at a distant end from the main Berjaya resort, about 2km along their golf course. It's not bad, but it might not be what you expect. The layout of Tekek goes: [Tekek Ferry/Airport terminal] -road/village- [Berjaya Resort] -road/divecentre/golfcourse- [Selesa/Condotel] -track/beach/turtle sanctuary- To be at Selesa and go to the Resort Restaurant or a local eatery, you have to take an hourly shuttle bus, or walk 30 minutes. This takes you to Berjaya lobby, then it's five min walk to the restaurant. Another shuttle or 25min walk is required to the Ferry/Airport/township. Berjaya is the nicer resort, but even that's a bit isolated. Hopping between island beaches/townships is possible but a little tricky (compared to my experience beach-side at Koh Phi Phi, Phuket). What's close to Selesa is: very limited wifi access in the Selesa lobby (also at Berjaya), an okay pool, and a 10-15 minute walk to a very nice and secluded beach which I absolutely loved (it's by the Turtle Sanctuary). There's also a dive center near Berjaya lobby, I did my Open Water Cert there. Berjaya provides most of the common tourist resort features, and you're only slightly disconnected from that at Selesa/Condotel. The Berjaya restaurant and facilities are actually quite nice, I found the Dive Center team to be quite excellent. Restaurant food good, a little pricey, local cuisine available just outside the resort complex (outside the Main Gate). I relied on the Restaurant some days, local cuisine others, and tinned food (pre-purchased) for ultimate convenience when getting the shuttle was too big a pain. Selesa does have a very small, affordable shop for some food basics as well. Selesa/Condotel is quite isolated, not brilliantly connected, but I found plenty to do and enjoy. I've had a better experience elsewhere in terms of resort by the beach, etc. This is cheap instead and still accommodating.

The best accommodation and location for relaxation”
make sure before you check in to the hotel call for a hotel. buy what you need because the location of this hotel is far from the jetty. This hotel is best for guests who want tranquility and peace. Transport is small issue as the hotel provides motorcycles for rent. Staff very friendly and helpfully. Well worth the stay at this hotel. If you do not want to ask the hotel staff it will be uncomfortable for you to stay in Tioman but if you ask for a vacation you will be one of the best memories in the hotel and throughout Tioman. Thanks.

Greetings from Selesa Tioman. We are pleased to know that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcome you or your friends to Selesa Tioman soon. Pleasant day ahead.
Magnificent for the budget conscious. ”
It is perfect for families. Considering we are a really huge family, we took on 2 two-bedroom apartments. Apartments were fixed for 3 persons -- a queen size bed in the master room and super single bed in the smaller room. There is one bathroom with shower, toilet and wash basin. The bathroom is accesible both from the kitchenette and the master bedroom. Towels and soap are provided. No toothbrushes nor shaving kits though. The hot water shower worked fine. Plumbing and water pressure is reasonable. There are no eating facilities in the condotel, so the microwave, kettle and fridge in the kitchenette really served its purpose. There is a also a chopping board, a knife and a can and cork opener (though the can opener bit was a little spoilt for my room - but I guess, you can always ask the staff to get you a better one). We bought our supplies at the Impian market down the road at Tekek village. Prices there are much cheaper than the small minimart at the condotel. Price for a 1 kg pack of rice at condotel minimart is RM5 while at the Impian minimart is RM1. Bought a lot of canned food and fruits - and that served our meals for the 3 days -- for the last nite, we splurged on a seafood bbq dinner over at Warong Syahirah at Tekek village (cost for dinner for 7 of us was RM278 -- but we did have the works -BBQ squid and fish, sweet sour pomfret and jerudong, kangkong blachan, sambal prawns, black pepper chicken, seafood tomyum, asam pedas stingray). I understand that you can order breakfast at the condotel and they will bring it up to your room - but we usually travel with milk and cereal - so we didn't try the breakfast. The swimming pool was large and most of the time unused. Nice rectangular pool with a kids wading pool at the side. Could swim lapses uninterrupted most of the time. Our apartments were ground level -- meaning level 3 of the B block. Both apartments faced the South China Sea. Magnificent.

Clean rooms, beautiful pool & little kitchen”
Selesa is adjacent to a large hotel with an 18 hole golfcourse. So the surroundings are lush and green. There seemed to also be a dive school. Food can be either cooked in the combo kitchen, eaten at the adjacent 4star hotel or outside the hotel complex at local restaurants. There is also regular transport by shuttle bus to the airport or to the gate of the hotel complex. From there you can either walk to local resturants or take a taxi yo be taken to Tekek. Staff in Selesa was very friendly and helpful. The pool was fantastic and it was a quiet place to stay only 5km from the airport.

Great getaway location”
This is a great place for families or couples to get away from it all. Tioman really feels like an unspoilt place of natural beauty and you find rich wildlife. There is a very quiet (normally almost deserted) beach only 10 minutes walk from this hotel. The only real downside is that there is no-where to have lunch or dinner at the hotel. But having said that, there is a shuttle bus to the Berjaya Tioman Resort every hour and you can get very good food there (main dishes from about 20-25 ringits). Just outside the Berjaya resort there is also a pretty good and cheap Malay restaurant (main dishes from about 8 ringits). It has a good seafood barbecue in the evening. There's a Chinese restaurant too but we thought it was terrible. Selesa Tioman does provide breakfast if you want, but it didn't look good so we just bought our own brekfast supplies in Tekek - cereal, milk, fruit. I've seen some people complain online about having to wait for the shuttle bus, but we really didn't find that much of a problem - you know what time it's leaving so you just turn up at that time and go - only 5 minutes to Berjaya. The shuttle bus does get a little full at times though - some people had to stand, so I'm not sure how they work this in peak season. In all, definitely want to go back one day.

Fantastic Staff and Value for Money ”
Selesa lived up to expectations according to the good reviews here. It was ideal for us with younger kids because the rooms were much larger than other places with the same budget and it has a really good pool. The best part of the experience by far has to be the management and staff though. Ibrahim Noor & Lenny were just so polite and friendly the whole time and couldn’t be more helpful and kind! We were so touched on our last night when they gave us a cake with lovely wording! A really sincere touch. As mentioned in the reviews we expected the frequent travel to the nearby town, but it really wasn’t an issue because there was always transport readily available as well as a regular free shuttle service. The beach further up (15 mins walk) made it all the more worthwhile as it was away from any crowds and just really peaceful and kid friendly (no waves). So all in all we were very happy and found it to be excellent value for money give the very spacious mini apartment!

Far from jetty, but very convenient for a family.”
Its very convenient when staying at selesa tioman condohotel, full amenities and feel like staying in our own house. Please ,make sure you call the hotel to double comfirm and tell them if you have special request like additional bed or etc. I am having a bit problem while i am staying in this condo because they are giving me the wrong room (wthout additional bed as per my request during online order)!!at that time my mom already finish her cooking!! What a mess!! Haha..But nevermind, it is just misunderstanding then, So the lesson learn, please check and double confirm with receptionist and what type of room and special request that you want them to provide to.. Overall for comfortness to staying in, i could give 4 stars!! For those who want to cook here.please bring enough stock of food, because its quite expensive here.

Great Beach Hotel and Large rooms”
I really enjoyed our 3 day stay at Selesa and hope to return to Tioman and explore it again. The snorkeling along the beach was great and lots of beautiful fish. The farther out I went the bigger the fish are. There are a few reef sharks, very peaceful types near the Ringitt Island and also rays and beautiful corals. We did not get a chance to do much hiking as we have a 2 year old but next time I will explore more of the island. The breakfast is ok and cheap only 20 ringit and the buffet and the pizza at Berjaya is very good, really enjoyed it. Overall a very pleasant and relaxing stay.

A Very Chilled Out Snorkel Vacation”
All in all it was a great stay. I really appreciated the hotel's staff's efforts in making things run smoothly for every guest in my group, even with regards to ferry arrangements and transportation within the island. They gave us everything we needed without hesitation even if it meant digging into cupboards for specific items. They were also very friendly. There's a beach about a 10-minute walk from the hotel where the shore and the sand was clean, the water pristine, and clear with different shades of blue. It looked gorgeous at sunset. The food in the hotel could be better though. The malay dishes such as nasi lemak, nasi goreng and mee goreng were good, especially the sambal ikan bilis. However, other dishes suffered. During the BBQ dinner, many items were raw. A couple of monkeys entered the room (seems to be a common thing and so they scare them away with large stuffed tigers) and stole some food at one point, making a huge mess. Housekeeping took care of that immediately. That was pretty good. 2 out of the 3 snorkelling activities had issues where we had to wait for over an hour for the boat or the equipment to arrive. That could have gone smoother but they extended our time accordingly as we started late. It was frustrating to wait and have very little communicated to us by the transport guys, there was a misunderstanding with the hotel and the snorkelling crew and the transport guys. About 2 hours in total were wasted that day waiting around for something or someone to arrive. Aside from that, everything else went smoothly. Wifi is only available in the lobby, but we hardly had the urge use it. I would recommend this place, mainly due to the helpfulness, friendliness and reliability of the staff, its seemingly isolated location by an empty beach (despite it being the Easter weekend), and the cleanliness and presentation of the rooms and premises.

Close to Nature, Far from the Centre of Activity”
On the whole, my stay at Selesa was mixed: some good and some not so good. The beautiful lush green surroundings and the ocean-view condo unit was worth the money paid. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and attentive. When I complained that one of the air-conds in my unit was not working, they were more than willing to attend to it for the entire duration of my stay just to make sure that I was comfortable. The hotel is located inside the Berjaya hotel compound but it is a good 2.5 kms away from the main hotel. However, the management do provide shuttle service hourly. I think this should be increased to half hourly instead. The 2-room unit is clean and well managed but the furniture look worn out. The areas outside the room & the staircases can do with some sweeping by the workers though. There is a large swimming pool but other than that there is absolutely no other recreational facilities here. Berjaya hotel is where recreational activities are available and there is a nice kids' pool too. There are no restaurants here so be prepared to cook/ prepare your own meals, you have to come prepared (buy groceries & tidbits before hand)especially if you have hungry kids! There is no cable television so you end up watching snowy, crappy news and programs on local TV! There is also no Wifi available but if the need arises, you can use the TV room in Berjaya to watch cable TV & surf the internet. The good thing is that we are allowed to use the facilities in Berjaya. The restaurant in Berjaya serves good food at reasonable prices. There is a nice Malay restaurant and a Chinese seafood restaurant by the beach at the main gate, outside the main hotel where you can get local fare at reasonable prices. Transport to Tekek is RM 10 per way. If you are not going to swim, snorkel or dive, then you are wasting your time in Tioman! A snorkeling day-trip (0930-1530) costs RM80-90/pax & u get to snorkel at 5 spots with a lunch stopover in Salang. All in all, it was a good trip.

Great stay”
Good facility and pool. Ocean views! Good value for money. I came to Tioman to do dive certification, and this was a home away from home. The only downside is that the property is far from town. So rent a scooter to get around. (Fizral will come and pick you up from the ferry terminal!)

Good, clean rooms and nice appliances provided”
The condo was nice and clean, appliances provided were great for long term stays, the area is quiet at night. Downside was the lack of food/restaurants at the condo, need to take the hourly free shuttle from Berjaya Tioman Resort to access anywhere outside the condo, and only 2 working TV channels.

Excellent”
The room is spacious with terrific sea view. Although the interior is in the design of the old days, everything is kept in very good condition. The major drawback is transportation. The shuttle bus run between Selesa abd Bajaya Resort every hour. It is not frequent enough. But to do activities like kayaking and cycling we need to go to the Bajaya Resort and so rely on the shuttle. Heard that they may improve the shuttle frequency soon. Better check their latest shuttle schedule and consider the transfer before booking.

“Perfect for a quiet getaway.””
The apartment consists of two bedroom, one with queen bed, the other single. Microwave oven, toaster and electric kettle are provided. There's a big pool near the reception area for those who fancy a dip. Downside, no restaurant available at the hotel itself. You have to take the shuttle down to Berjaya Resorts Restaurant or head out to Kampung Tekek to eat. Shuttle is available every hour. All in all, not a bad stay at all...

Hidden private beach”
The location of the hotel is a bit far from everything but round trip can be arrange to Berjaya or Tekek for RM5 per person which is affordable. The hotel staff are very friendly. The free breakfast is not very good. We had our meals at Berjaya or Tekek. There is no wifi in room, wifi in common area is slow even when no other visitor is using it and no data connection anywhere in the hotel. Do bring along your own toiletries such as shampoo, body wash, toothbrush and etc which are not provided. You can borrow hairdryer and thumb drive for movies to watch from hotel reception. The highlight of our trip is when we found a private beach further up around 10 minutes walking distance from the hotel which is really nice as not many people. Overall, it is a relaxing experience.

Great value, Very nice hotel”
This hotel was an wonderful surprise! We booked online, and were really just looking for something clean and affordable with a pool for the kids. What we got was a spacious, beautiful condo in one of the most beautiful locations at Tekek. We could walk to the beach and take a free shuttle into town for money or restaurants. The view was fantastic! The Selesa's food is fair, but their staff was very helpful. The picked us up right from the ferry, and took care of our every need. My only advise is that you remember it's a condo and not a hotel. It doesn't have room service or anything so you have to go out for most of your meals.
