Best of the Best!”
Seng Hout Hotel was by far and away the best hotel I stayed in throughout my travels in Southeast Asia. The staff were so friendly, their coffee was delicious, the rooms were huge and very clean. And the value for money was amazing. They had a pool on the 3rd floor for cooling off and free pick up from my bus station. For a solo traveler it provided a safe and welcoming environment with hot showers, functioning AC and TV. This property exceeded my expectations! I would recommend it to anyone 100% without hesitation.
The perfect spot in Battambang”
Upon reflection I was so glad that the other hotel I was looking at for a short stay, was full. At Seng Hout the staff were very helpful and always had a smile and a wave. Location is brilliant - right in the centre, near a market and great eateries. Loved the rooftop area - a great space to relax and watch the sun go down … or get up early and watch a brilliant sunrise. I was enchanted by the city waking up in the morning - with chants and music - definitely added to the ambience. Would recommend!!!
I totally enjoyed my stay at Seng Hout Hotel. The location was terrific, very central, staff were always as helpful as possible and the room was clean and served all my needs. I would certainly return there again if I was in Battambang again. A great friendly place. I have a 1 for food and dining as I did not eat there and I was required to give a rating. I chose not to eat there as there are so many interesting places to eat in town. I don't know how their food and dining rates.
New Refurbished Building”
Seng Hout now has two hotels next to each other. By booking on agoda you are placed in the new refurbished hotel. Nice and clean and new. Not many other guests so also private. Altho still a bit of "builders dust" and a couple of oversights in planning like no towel rail in bathroom etc but overall good value for money. Excellent location next to local market and river front.
Value for money but really bad WiFi”
I stayed at the Seng Hout hotel for a week while I was on a business trip. The hotel was quite basic but all the amenities were provided. The rooms were generally clean but the shower drain wasn't working properly and it flooded the whole bathroom every time I showered. The real letdown from the Seng Hout was the WiFi. The internet was so bad it was impossible to even load a web page let alone do any type of work. Halfway through the week it even told me the username and password I had weren't correct. I eventually even gave up trying and just used the hot spot on my phone. Having stayed here for business with work to do, it was quite disappointing.
Wish we stayed longer...”
Senghout Hotel was a wonderful find and the pool was an amazing addition. We stayed in the newly remodeled part of the hotel which was actually in a separate building from the original hotel, so we did have to walk over to use the pool which is on the 3rd floor and gives a nice view of the city, but even better is climbing up to the 5th floor lounge area where you get a 360 degree view of Battambang. The hotel was very clean and the staff helpful in getting us around... Initially we didn't think there was much to see here, but there is much to see if you only look - the local art scene is vibrant with very interesting work. Don't miss Kinsei coffee and juice shop just through the market on 1.5 street.
Nice place to stay ”
We only stayed 2 nights but the Seng Hout fulfilled our needs for a great location and a good nights sleep. The rooftop bar/cafe is just a rooftop terrace which was a nice place to rekax and a good view. The swimming pool is nice but all in the shade with the chairs to sit in being undercover so no sunbathing opportunity. The staff were all great, very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.
Dear Guest. I appreciate your positive feedback about our hotel. We do take pride in catering to our guests' needs the best way we can. If you're traveling to our area gain soon, don't hesitate to call us.
Nice place to stay”
Seng Hout got a good location, near the market and just two minutes walk to Steung Sangke.
Check in was quick and easy. Our rooms were located at the front of the hotel overlooking the main road, we were concerned that they might be noisy but they were really well insulated so very quiet even during the morning 'rush hour'. The hotel was very central, close to the main market and had a list of recommended tuktuk drivers who were all friendly with good english. We really liked the place and would definitely stay next time in Battambang. The swimming pool was a lovely added bonus as was the rooftop terrace which had some great views.
Basic room, good location and services”
The Seng Hout Hotel was OK for the price. The bed was clean and comfortable but the bathroom was a bit mouldy. The safe in my room didn't liock. They arranged a free pick- up from the boat and a great tuk tuk driver also bus tickets so it was very convenient.. I Ienjoyedy my stay in Battembong and the Seng Hout was well located near the river , the night market & there were plenty of restaurants nearby.. Overall it was quite good and I would recommend.
Clean, friendly, relaxing, great value for money”
Loved this hotel, read previous reviews and wasn't so sure after we had booked it but couldn't fault anything (we got a room with a window but kept the curtains shut). The room was spotlessly clean, the staff friendly and attentive. We put some clothes to launder and they came back the next day, very cheap too. We had breakfast at the hotel, the food wasn't special but it was tasty and served quickly. The pool was great to cool down in. We really enjoyed the rooftop, it was peaceful with fantastic views of the city, shame it didn't have a bar, they could make a fortune from it. Would recommend highly a stay here, great value for money, would definitely go back.
Our original standard double had no outside window and felt a bit claustrophobic, after upgrading to a room with a window we were much happier. The hotel is located in the center of town. Showers were hot and rooms comfortable. Rooms were tidied daily and clean towels provided but the bathrooms were not cleaned once during our 4 night stay. However we would return. The Noi coffee wagon on the corner opposite does some of the best coffee tasted in Battambang.
Great value ”
The staff here are exceptionly friendly and good fun although still very proffessional. The hotel has a great deal of space to sit and rest and there are great balconeys where you can sit outside of the room and catch a cool breeze.Maybe a little more effort in cleaning the room ,marks on the bathroom mirror were there all week.Rooms were basic but adequate.Breakfast was well prepared and served ,but not in the price of the room,so had to pay separately. All in all the experiance was very good.
Some of the best hotel service we've had in Asia!”
The service at Skyway was definitely a pleasant surprise. From the moment we arrived hotel staff were friendly and helpful, showing us up to our room and giving us tons of advice and information about touring Angkor Wat and seeing other places in the city. Because they're a bit out of the city (not that far - still walkable, or a 3 minute tuk tuk ride), they'll drive you into the center each evening for free. And whenever we needed a tuk tuk otherwise, they'd accompany us outside to help us coordinate the price. We coordinated a tuk tuk with them for our final third day at Angkor Wat, and not only did they get us a great price but they provided the driver with a little cooler of ice cold water bottles and chilled face wipes for us to use throughout the day! The breakfast was buffet-style and big, though sometimes you could tell the food had been sitting there for a bit. Fried rice, fried noodles, chicken rice porridge, fried eggs and/or omelet, sausages, tons of fruit, bread/butter/jam, coffee and tea, and probably some other things I'm forgetting. I wouldn't say the facilities were the best I've ever seen, but for the price and the pool and the customer service, totally worth it!
Nice pool, central location, good value”
I enjoyed my stay overall. If you want a place with a pool in central Battambang for a good price, this is the place. I originally booked 2 nights and ended up staying for 5.
An absolute oasis for travellors to Cambodia”
After driving through the streets of Battambang, it was a delight to arrive at the Senghout Hotel.
More bang for your buck!!”
This hotel was absolutely top notch for the price. The roofrop deck was perfect for watching the night market hustle and bustle or for having your morning tea. Other hotels that were only slightly less expensive didn’t have nearly the quality that this hotel had to offer. A word of caution: The bed was quite hard and uncomfortable and the mini fridge and A/C will only work while you are physically IN the room. Although these things seem a bit inconvenient, this seems to be the norm in this part of Asia. This hotel has 2 locations very close in proximity , an older and a newer. The older location has a pool which is free to use if you stay at either site. The newer location has the rooftop and is clean and equipped with an elevator. I will definitely stay at this hotel again if I am ever in the area.
I found Senghout Hotel priced pretty well. It's not a high-end hotel, but it's also not some dive or slummy guest house. I was impressed most by the location and, of all things, the lobby. Senghout is right next to Nat Market and the river, and a five-minute walk (or $1 tuk tuk ride) to the bus station. All in all it's one of the best located hotels in Battambang. The lobby is also impressive, and I mention this because those I was traveling with thought I was full of it after I had initially tried to brace them that Senghout was a "budget" hotel. How could a budget hotel look like this?! was their general attitude walking up to Senghout. In truth, the lobby is well done. Impressive wood (teak perhaps?) furniture and table pieces, large aquarium, high ceiling, cafe bar, and shiny elevator doors in the back corner. Don't be fooled! The rooms are still very much budget. Finicky wall-mounted electric water heaters, toilet paper some might mistake for paper towels, budget lumpy mattresses. To Senghout's credit though, out of all the budget hotels I've stayed in, they did provide clean sheets throughout my entire stay. No mystery stains or see through sheets. Can't say that about others! I also heard the rooftop bar was worthwhile but didn't get the chance to go up.
Great Central hotel in Battambang ”
Pros: Roof top terrace Nice little cafe in restaurant with breakfast, special coffee drinks, smoothies and lunch sandwiches Air con works well Fridge and electric kettle Like the clothes rack and closet-bring hangers Very comfortable king size bed Lovely staff and great service-ask if you need something Perfect location Free bottles of water each day Swimming pool Can book tours, busses and tuk tuks at front desk TV with ability to hook up to computer Quiet hotel Cons: Floors could be washed more often-little dusty at times, but overall hotel is clean
Great clean hotel with a pool”
We had a great staff. Upon arrival the staff knew my name through the booking I'd made. There was a great little pool with a bar downstairs that made for relaxing afternoons. There was also a fabulous rooftop that got a great breeze. Rooms were fine, and very reasonably priced for aircon.
