    Pretty much perfect”

Spent 10 nights in the dorm and had the place too myself for half the time. Towels / sheets changed constantly. Beautiful, peaceful gardens next to the restaurant area. I probably tried most things - curries and fish all excellent. Good buffet breakfast, particularly liked the barbecue/toaster. Forest Edge is 15 minutes walk to the Sepilok orangutan centre, not too bad even on the hottest days. The staff were brilliant in all areas, especially the bar and restaurant. The only minor thumbs-down is for the plunge pool, not really big enough for anything. I'm guessing also that the spa has finally opened by now. Would definitely stay here again.

We stayed for only 1 night, but wish it could be more! Friendly and always smiling and helpful staff. Loved indoor and outdoor bathroom, bungalows are extremely clean and comfortable with good views from terraces. Breakfast was good, they cook fresh eggs to your liking. Highly recommended!

This resort is perfekt for visiting the monkey Things around. It was peace and Quiet and you could her the birds Nice. Though it is out in the jungle there is no supermarket or other restaurent so you are forced to eat at the resort and i thought that was a little expensive

    Our perfect forest retreat”

We loved staying here, an ideal place to see the local wildlife and do tours from. Really comfortable chalet. Helpful and friendly staff. Great restaurant and menu. The highlight was seeing a young orangutan in the trees near our chalet. Just wonderful!

Nice place to stay in Sepilok”

A bit isolated place, but this is its main charm - right in the forest, fresh air and natural sounds! The only drawback is that the road may easily become flooded if it rains. Quite close to the sanctuaries. Amazing free breakfast and very friendly staff, but the restaurant is a bit overpriced. They want you to take your shoes off but the floors seemed not to have been mopped for a long time, otherwise it was a clean place. The dorm doors did not close, there was a latch that could close only from one side, so nobody could enter from the other (so if one person falls asleep you cannot enter). There was an outdoor pool, which was very nice!

Fantastic bungalows in a good location”

A series of bungalows roughly centres around a small lake and jungle area. The bungalows are extremely clean and comfortable with good views from most terraces. There is a restaurant with reasonably priced good quality food and a small plunge pool to cool off. It's located maybe 25 minutes walk from the Rainforest Discovery Centre and 15 mins walk from Sepilok Orangutan sanctuary. The only negative is patchy wifi coverage and slow speeds even from their restaurant but this is more of a Sepilok area in general issue and in no way detracts from it. I'd highly recommend staying here.

Pro: Nice ambient & view. Comfortable bedding. Really like the back-to-nature-styled bathroom. Nice design for the water tap. Enjoyed the restaurant area & its ambient. Con: Staffs are not proactive enough (in giving info on the accommodation and guest benefits)

    Clean and great atmosphere”

Having a resort, but still have dorm rooms is ideal for individual travellers. Great atmosphere there as well with a lot of other like minded, nature loving backpackers. Nice to be in the middle of nature and the fact that it is on walking distance from the orangutans and rainforest discovery centre

    Best Place in Sepilok”

We really enjoy our stay at this resort nested in the forest. The staff is very friendly, helfully and professional. We really love all the Animals and sound of Nature around us. The bungalow was clean and has all we Need. They have a no deep pool where You can relax in the end of the day. We saw the macaque monkey from our chalet, monitor lizard, many squirrels, deer and different birds. The Orangutan Scantuary is just 10 minutes walking and little more for the Rainforest Discovery Center (we recommend to visit this place. Is better to go there in the morning, so you can lose yourself in the Rainforest. We saw the horn birds also). The cashier said to us that is 1 hour walking only but If You want visit all the trails sure you keep more then o hours). For Sepilok forest Edge staff..... still do like that. You make a perfect job! Some tips: 1) try to add ginger to home-made jam. 2) add hooks for towels in the bathroom (Danum chalet) 3) recommend the Rainforest Discovery Center to guest

    What a great resort!”

We were 2 couples travelling, stayed for 2 nights and wish it could be more! Friendly and always smiling and helpful staff, cosy small pool to chill out after hot day. Very nice chalets with indoor and outdoor bathroom, spotlessly clean. Orang utans sanctuary so close. Mouthwatering food, everything we had at reastaurant was delicious, especialy butter sauce prawns were out of this world! Strongly recommended!

    Such friendly helpful staff!”

The resort is a little further away from the Sepilok sights than some but we walked to the orangutans & sunbears in ten mins and the RDC in about 20. Be aware that it’s pretty tricky to get Grabs after 5pm. Room was fine, although slightly run down - leaking air con etc. Comfy bed, nice shower, good breakfast and peaceful surroundings. Best thing though was the staff - especially Nicki in the restaurant who went out of her way to get to know all her customers. Keep it up :)

    Beautiful getaway!”

The resort is beautiful. Our chalet was wonderful too. Love the tropical rustic concept. Never thought the ‘bubu’ (fish trap) can be made as cool chandelier! I also think the attached outdoor shower is so awesome. We bring our 7 years old daughter, and were changed compulsory additional cost (RM50+) for her extra bed and breakfast, which we dont really mind coz the extra bed really make all of us extra comfortable. Breakfast was very basic and light. The restaurant is beautiful especially at night. The pool is small but the kids still love it. Extra info: Upon check-in, they will ask for RM200 deposit or credit card details.

Great place to stay in Sepilok”

We stayed in the dorm room and we ended up having the dorm room to ourselves which was nice. Room was nice and fairly clean, my only main complaint about the room was that I feel like there should be mosquito nets for the beds. Staff were friendly and the resort is in a good location, only a 10-15 min walk from the orangutan sanctuary. The breakfast was lovely and the food you can order at the restaurant is amazing! The veggie burger and margarita pizza was very tasty, and you must try the chocolate lava cake!

    Excellent bungalows in jungle”

Individualized bungalows were clean, quiet, even if some were far from the eating area. WiFi is only on the deck, but there are plenty of places to sit. Food was delicious, staff very helpful. Walking distance (20 mins) from orangutans and sun bears, 30 minutes to Rainforest center. Excellent place to stay unless you are going into town in Sandakan a lot, then it is at least a 40 minute drive each way. Enjoyed relaxing and being device free for awhile!

Balcony looked out over a pond in the forest it was beautiful, the room itself was perfect nice comfy bed, air con nice bathroom and even tv with sports channels! The staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good, they cook fresh eggs to your liking. And plenty on the menu for dinner (we are vegetarians and we were happy with the options for our 2 night stay)
