Conveniently located & well-facilitated inn”
Great location and overall comfortable
a pretty comfortable inn... room is simple but sufficient. what i liked about serai inn is its convenient location, with close proximity to the station and chinatown and yet quiet enough for a good night sleep. if you're looking for a no-frills budget stay, serai inn is greatly recommended.

Simply dodgy. ”
Poorly lit-up entrance with no proper signage. Out of order lift. Staircase is blocked by rubbish and a bed frame. Rags as towel and blanket. Non existence water pressure. The entire street leading to the inn is filled with homeless at night. Stayed here because I have no choice as all hotels within the Dataran Merdeka vicinity are full. And Hotel 1915 screwed up my booking.

Budget Friendly”
Walking distance to Chinatown, City Center and Central Market.
SUPER budget, not for those who haven't lived a backpacker lifestyle. After dark, it seems a little shady since the entrance is not facing the main street; but overall a great location for those trekking the city by foot. More suitable for males, IMO.

Not just a place to stay”
Staff, location, cleanliness
- I have stayed here many times in the last several years, it is always improving. - Staff are knowledgeable regarding city sites and are happy to help you find your way. - Free breakfast is egg, fruit, beans, toast & coffee/tea. Amazing for what you pay for the room. Portions are not large, but you can have more for additional cost. - Wifi is fairly fast. - Good mix of fellow travellers too.

Good location, staff's English and friendly, clean
super staff. we arived at five in the morning at they waited for us to open the door. he also explained the things about kl when we arrived. during our stay the whole staff were friendly to us and answered our questions. very good loaction next to chinatown, close to the busstation, metrostations and the free busstop. rooms are very clean and the bed is good. sharing bathroom, showers are good and hot. soft bed, although the pillows were a bit high. due to the thin walls it is very noisy. we had a room at the street site, which you could hear very well in the morning. at night the street is quite. the breakfast is really basic, just one egg with two toasts and a bit of fruit

Great location and friendly staffs”
Good service
I stayed there just 1 night and I satisfied. I chose the single room. The bathroom is shared but I almost think that it is my private bathroom because nobody else uses it. But you have to bring your own shampoo, toothpad,... because they don't provide that (reasonable for a hostel) The room is ok, larger . A desk, electricity, big bed are enough for a solo traveler like me. Location is great. From LCCT airport, it takes 1h 15m to come to Serai Inn. It was the first time I came KL but I followed the guide in website of Serai Inn and I could use the bus, LRT, no need to take taxi from airport. Only 8.3RM/1 way (if you buy 2 way ticket for Aerobus at airport). In KL, I traveled on foot. It means my hotel is near all of sightseeings. Of course it was tired but I'm young, no problem. The staffs were very friendly. They were tourist guide also. Service is ok. They keep my luggage for me although I checked out or early check in. So I can travel in KL 2 days but just need 1 night in hotel. The breakfast is good also.

Very basic but very nice budget hotel”
Good location - close to metro, great owner, very quiet, value for money
This budget hotel is basic (our twin room was very small, shower and toilet are in the corridor to share), but amazingly clean and exceptionally well located near convenient Masjid Jamek LRT station. The staff, especially the boss, were just great and very, very nice and helpful with priceless tips about our trip to Melaka. I was satisfied with this place, it's cheap but you get a lot for that money.

Great location, fantastic staff and super clean”
Close to the main turistic points, 5 minutes walk from the metro station, on the route of the free bus to Bukit Bintang and Petrona towers, nice staff
Although the street is a little bit dodgy coming late in the night, the hostel is absolutely clean. The shared toilets are clean all the time, and our room was simple but spotless. The staff was helpful and the owner is a fantastic guy. He made us a map on how to go by ourselves to Melaka- he also sells the day trip. The tips were fantastic and honest.

Hotel room is very clean and the staff are nice and friendly staff. But they must always maintenance the shower on the bathroom. Convenient Location”
Supply of outlet adapters a plus!
I stayed here two nights. While I originally had booked for two nights in a row, I was able to split the nights and take a bus to Cameron Highlands and spend the night there. The owner was friendly in accommodating my change in plans. The staff was friendly and there are lots of maps and pamphlets available to help travelers explore the city. The room gives just enough space for comfort and some sensitive sleepers may need earplugs if they have a noisy neighbor.

The people who work there are very friendly and helpful and the room was clean.
We got our own room with a double bed and air-conditioning. The room was small and plain but we didn't spend much time there other than to sleep. The location is great for going to the market, the towers and bars. Food around the area is cheap. Overall we were happy with our stay. The owner even accompanied us to the train station at the end of our stay.

Location, value, staff
nice place with clean rooms and common areas. the manager is nice and very helpful. the breakfast is basic but good. no lift so if you don't like stairs, this place is not a option. the location is perfect, in the heart of the golden triangle, 5 minutes walk to china town, central market and majid jamek lrt station (subway). good wi-fi. to avoid surprise, you will have to give 20 rm for the key deposit upon check-in! i definitely recommend this place for traveler wishing to be conveniently located to visit kuala lumpur.

Helpful Staff, Noisy Construction going on all day”
Knowledgeable staff regarding sight-seeing
The room and air conditioning are fine, although the single beds are a bit small for a large person. The walls are very thin so if you don't have mindful neighbors their noise can be annoying. It has a nice common area, however, it was over-used by some guests who instead of enjoying it for a while, occupied it as if they had rented that area for themselves only.

good for layovers or bus transfers good for one or two nights... close to bus station and lrt...the area gets congested with traffic and busses. there are lots of restaurants and it is near the heritage buildings of old kl...there are enough bathrooms with adequate showers. the rooms are small and most do not have windows.
