Wedding Anniversary ”
My wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and spent 4 nights at the Seraya Resort. The bungalow we stayed in was beautiful and the white sand beach was one of the nicest of anywhere we have been and we've been traveling the world for 30+ years. The snorkeling was wonderful and there were all kinds of fish. We saw a baby shark, sea snake, lion fish, parrot fish, angel fish, and many types of fish that I don't know the names of. There was a school of a small type of fish that numbered in the thousands and provided plenty of food for all of the larger fish. The sunset viewed from the hilltop (10-15 minute walk from the resort) was beautiful. The view of the stars each night from the boat dock was amazing. It was one of the best vacations we have ever taken made all the nicer by the Seraya owner Jannis and his staff. I would highly recommend this resort for travelers looking for peace and quiet in a pristine location.

Paradise ”
We have just spent a great 5 days at Seraya Beach hotel. We really enjoyed our stay there. The highlight was the trip to swim with the Manarays at Manta point. An amazing experience! We loved our beach bungalow. The location is perfect for a 5 day very peaceful stay. Rosie bought a yoga mat for me to use which I really appreciated. The buffet dinners were ok but we're not served very hot. I got a stomach problem the second night just after eating the buffet and still have the problem. The A la carte menu served on our last night was much better and served hot.

Paradise in Flores”
This idyllic boutique beach bungalow resort on a stunning white sand beach is easily 4 star. The pristine reef, metres from the beach edge, is rich with coral and marine life in safe, shallow waters. We had been exploring the Flores/Komodo/Rinca region and chose this resort to finish our trip, we found it the perfect place to wind-down as it was secluded, peaceful and relaxing. The resort is European owned and managed, ensuring that the staff looked after us well. The rooms are very well appointed with comfortable beds and air-conditioning; you literally step out of your room onto the beach! We will definitely return to this resort in the coming years for that perfect paradise escape.

Paradise spoiled by incompetent management”
The villas are beautiful, the beach setting is stunning and the snorkelling is very good. On the whole the food is great albeit sometimes slow. However the Seraya has changed ownership in, we understand, early March. And almost every other aspect of our stay was terrible. It started before we arrived, when we were told we'd have to pay 1m IDR each way for a transfer from LBJ. We later discovered we were meant to ask for our 'free wooden boat transfer.' The rip off culture continued with a pricing of tours to Komodo ranging from 6m-13m IDR depending on group size. We got a sense the new owners were trying to extract as much cash as possible from each party. Unfortunately most of the staff have left the hotel since the ownership change (we found 3 who had stayed). The new staff struggled to understand basic requests, barely spoke English and appeared completely clueless most of the time. And there was a complete lack of information - the basics were just missing. With no information book in the room, we had to ask for absolutely everything. Meals were even more confusing with no menus in sight and an expectation we would just intuitively work out how to eat. The wine list was a stock list which seemed to be from a supplier. On day 1 of the handover this would be poor but understandable. Six weeks in and this shows a lack of respect to guests paying 5* prices but getting a 1* service. We got the sense management just don't care.

I stayed here for my honeymoon and IT WAS AMAZING”

Great location and Team”
This resort is a gem in the Komodo National Park Region. Pristine beaches, great activities and the staff were very professional and helpful. My only issues were in two areas. The wifi situation - patchy wifi I can live with in such a natural setting but the fact that its focussed in the reception area means periods when all the guests are congregating in the dining area not just to eat but to get reception. It ruins some of the magic of the location. Secondly the food on the menu, I'm afraid to say needs a major overhaul. it is underwhelming and needs to get in line with the level of creativity and quality of other top resorts.

SCENIC RESORT!”
It is a really beautiful place with awesome view. A perfect place to just hang out on the beach or go snorkeling. It is a relaxing haven though its pricey. The chef is awesome for dinner. I really loved this place with its white sandy beaches and clear blue water. Surely recommended if you are out for some relaxation with your loved ones.

Beautiful Setting and good rooms. V dissapinting food and service. ”
Pros Views Peacefulness Clean beach Beautiful coral Nice rooms Cons Terrible food - dinner was a buffet and this was not made clear when booked. Limited lunch and breakfast menu with food of below average quality Service was slow. The staff had clearly not received proper training. Few of them spoke English. I felt sorry for them actually as they were all smiley people but they did not know what customer service should be. Overall for the price point of c£250 a night it was a let down. With better management and staff it could be amazing but I would not recommend this place as it is unfortunately despite the idyllic setting which did not dissapoint.

Transport needs to be sorted”
No information about transportation to the accommodation given. Was under the assumption that we will be picked up at the airport -as that was what we wrote on the note when making reservation, only to be told on the phone when we call at the airport, that we have to hire a speedboat for the amount of $100/ride because the shuttle boat(a slower boat that took an hour longer to get to the island) is only available at certain hour by reservation. Shouldn't this whole transport thing be included on the package? Considering this is the only way to get to the island? And we have to hire another boat to go basically anywhere else outside the island, unless you are happy to enjoy the island and not go anywhere else for the entire stay.

Recommend and will come again ”
Great location for calm and peaceful vacation, very friendly stuff, fantastic Coral reef in the front of the beach and facility. Very nice excursions to nearby islands. Komodo dragons are ok to see but biggest impression had snorkeling with mantas, must see! Snorkeling in front of the bungalow is great with hundreds of different fishes.

Sudamala is just the right thing”
We stayed in a beachfront villa, with an extra bed for our university-aged son. Even with the extra bed the room was comfortable. There was a lot of closet space and the bathroom in back of the room (open air) was nice. A/C worked well as did hot water. The view from the front deck was beautiful and relaxing, with the beach right there (it gets noisy at night, but that's what beachfront means). The staff was really helpful and friendly. For Christmas dinner they all sang carols for / with us, which they had spent a couple of weeks practicing. The facilities are as advertised. We opted to go with the hotel for a day trip to Padar island, Komodo national park, the pink beach, and snorkeling to manta point. There is good snorkeling just right off the hotel pier too, and you can use the hotel kayaks to cross to an island (takes about 35-45 minutes) where you can see baby sharks, if you are lucky (we couldn't see them). Hanging out in the hotel restaurant and just relaxing is really nice too. The only qualifier for me is to think whether to come during the rainy season. It can mean somewhat stormy seas, and possible closures of Komodo national park.
