Serenity Hotel Istanbul
the room was too small for a couple and 1 kid. the location was not bad but need to walk 10 mins to”
reach the sultan Ahmad medan. the staff was helpful. not a lot of choices for breakfast. the room wasn't clean
Clean & good location ”
Very clean & tiny room though a little bit small. Good location to access public transportation and close to main visiting places.
Worst room ever”
Room was moist and mold. Had the room directly behind the reception. Black mold, musty smell and blotchy walls. Room was inacceptable. Night receptionist was extremly loud and took no account of the sleeping guests at night. Prepared rooms for coming guests at night, loud talking/ discussion directly next to our room in the middle of the night two nights long!!! Has no sense for Service and consideration of sleeping guests!!! Summary: Location only plus...recommend to spent a bit more money and get a better low-budget room. Never again in the moist smelly and loud hole.
Good location but bad staff”
It was nice journey to stay in this hotel 🏩, like it 👍👍, but the receptionist refused to extend which made me angry 😡
Maintenance of room lousy”
1) room heater (reverse aircondition type) stopped functioning at 02 o'clock in the night. Problem wasa ovefill of condensed water. Installation was wrong a) because condense drain was 8 cm above and could not drain b) because air-intake was wrongly positioned in the wall. 2) bedlight did not function bulb missing. 3) bathroom light functioned only after I was instructed how to give the switch a special hard kick and then only sometimes 4) hook for the shower was broken. 5) receptionist first evening did not speak good English, but indeed very fast. Why do people think that they can cover badly spoken English by increasing the speed . 6) toastmachine in breakfast did not work. Again only with a special kick 7) omelette not possible. first day yes, mext day "out of eggs" and third day "not allow for reception" a bulgarian lady tried to communicate.
Its down the hill and they dont accomodate in the hotel they agreed but place u in another apartment
Great breakfast, shame they try to con you. ”
The hotel rooms were very clean but a lot smaller than they appear in the pictures. The all you can eat breakfast was actually very impressive considering it was included in the price. A word of warning though. They did try to overcharge me considerably for a shuttle us to the airport and aggressively tried to bully me into buying after i tried for a long time to politely decline. Then on departure they tried to charge me for the room again even though i had the agoda ticket showing i already paid in advance. We eventually had to call agoda to convince them to let me go before i could leave the hotel. I imagine most people leave check out until the last minute and end up paying again to save the 20 min debate and not miss their ride to the airport and their next flight.
Simple and good ”
From the first day I have been given all sufficient information from the staff member in order to coordinate myself to all sightseeings in the city. My room had been cleaned daily and all towels were changed. Room size was very reasonable and well furnished with classic ottoman style. The location is excellent only few minute away from major sights and major transport link.
Not terrible, not great”
For the first night I was sent to stay in another hotel ("water problem in my room" was the excuse. Clearly it has happened to many other guests as well. The other hotel was "too" new (bathroom doorknob had not been installed, TV had not been installed though the cable was there, phone on the floor, no pillow covers, etc.). I didn't like it at all! For the second night I moved back to Serenity and my room was fine, small, basic, but OK. So though there were no real problems, it just wasn't a pleasant experience. I don't think I will want to come back.
must to go”
room ok not bad but service is 100%
cheap n good hotel. very near to all attractions”
Value for money. Quiet surounding. Highly recommended to all. No problem at all.
Good location and good breakfast”
This was an average hotel - adequate for what we paid for. They have a good buffet breakfast served on the rooftop with a nice view of Istanbul. It's located within walking distance of all the major attractions in the Old City area.
Staff atitude was very bad.”
Although we booked 2 nights, we couldn't stay this hotel. hotel owned said 'due to electronic problem'. he brought us to near by hotel. according to him, it is his running hotel and same grade as serenity hotel. however, we stayed very small and dirty hotel. we believe our stayed hotel is much loewer class hotel. we checked with the owner next day but result was same. we couldn't stay serenity hotel eventually. we saw many other curtomers were staying serenity hotel. so we guess actually no 'electronic problem' there.
Next time will try somewhere else”
Room was OK and similar to other budget hotels”
The stay was straightforward. The room was ready when we arrived and reasonably clean. It was at street level so we did not need to climb stairs. Bathroom was small.
not a pleasant stay”
the hotel was to expensive for what is was, 1st room we tried had a shower full of mold and the shower leaked into the floor, creating a pool of water, we asked for a room change and the second room also leaked the same way.
Excellent location, friendly staff”
Good hotel for sightseeing. But not wait for a high level of comfort at the hotel. It is small and a bit old. The hotel is situated in 200-300 meters from the Blue Mosque and the Hippodrome. 5-7 minutes from the Sultanahmet tram stop. Easy to reach from the airport. Clean towels and bed, hot water, good breakfast, friendly staff, good price.
budget price, close to major attractions in Istanbul. but the only bad thing is that i can hear other room's noisy at night.
little expensive and hotel very noisy. Near city centre.
