Ok guest house but not great. No warm fuzzies here.
We stayed here for 5 nights. Having traveled extensively through Asia the guest house was standard and not 5 star as other guest reviews state. The staff was a hit or miss, sometimes with smiles other times disengaged. The room was large but simple, wet head bathroom. The a/c worked ok but needed the fan to help. Our room was on the top floor so stairs were needed, no lift. As for the school and learning, we never heard or saw any information for it, nor did we meet or see Lori. On our next trip to Siam Reap, we will choose another option.

Fantastic place to stay and for a good cause
We picked because of its mission and found it’s a fantastic place to stay with exceptional staff. Highly recommended!

Great base for Siem Reap
Very lovely and helpful staff. They give you great little foodie guide to help choose places to eat and all options we took were great. Very clean and comfortable. We joined one of the yoga classes on the rooftop lounge which was great fun and would recommend. We also used there reccomended guide (the quirky Rinnai) who was good fun and also doubled as a proficient photographer!

A conscious guesthouse for responsible travelers
I was excited to find this place. It was was established and is owned by a family local to Siem Reap. My room was sparkling clean with a private balcony. There was also nice artwork on the walls. The room had character. Equally important is that the hotel is ecologically responsible and has a social mission. All hotels should be this way. And everyone should be conscious of their tourist footprint. Thank you, Seven Candles.

One of my favorite hotels anywhere
The hardest part about traveling is not having the comforts of home, and always feeling like you're missing on on some level of normalcy. Seven Candles is one of the rare places I've stayed that managed to mostly alleviated that feeling of "ugh, I'm at a hotel" - it really felt like home. The staff are really great. They have an awesome roof to hang out on, plus some nice chairs on the second floor. Everything is fine with the room. They provide a guide to the local area, which makes it feel like you're staying with friends . It's easy to book activities through them, but I didn't feel like I was being upsold. Their tuk-tuk rates are definitely better than what you get with a random one; I know this by swapping experiences with other travelers. Only downside was spotty internet, but I got a SIM card and supplemented with a hotspot when needed. All in all I highly recommend 7 Candles to anyone visiting Siem Reap.

Exceptional
The staff here was great. The breakfasts each morning were wonderful Cambodian dishes, and different each day. The food tour they organized was also great. Very relaxing place to stay, though the street is busy.

Stay Here!
This was a great place to stay to check out Siem Reap and Angkor Wat. They provided us with a tuk tuk driver for the day and even made us breakfast early so we could head out for sunrise. The room, bed, toilet, shower, a/c, fan were great and made the stay easy. I would recommend and stay again.

Above average
Rooms are clean and spacious but the facilities desperately need updating - broken showers, aircons, hard matresses etc. Very few extra touches for guests comfort (toiletries etc). The noise from the street and building site next door is also a problem. Staff are helpful, but the hostel drivers constantly try drum up business for the guesthouse tuk-tuks, which can be annoying. Relatively poor value for money compared to many other places throughout southeast Asia.

A great accomodation with social benefits
We enjoyed our stay in this lovely guesthouse. They organised TukTukTours to Angkor and Tonle Sap with a friendly driver. A part of your money also goes to a foundation that supports the education of cambodian children, so you also do good when you live there. Would recommend it any time. Plus you can enjoy a yoga class and excellent breakfast.
