Relaxing place to stay, worth your money”
I was worried that friends would not like the place coz there were negative reviews. To my surprise, the place was so much worth our money. Very comfortable, nice furnitures, clean linens, functional fixtures and really big for 3 people. East nanjing road station is just few minutes walk. A lot of events along nanjing pedestrian crossing, just in front of the hote and can be seen from our room, happen every night. For the free breakfast, we were only offered Western meals (we think that's the default for foreigners?). If you love shopping, you should stay here. Famous brands are very accessible from the hotel. I wish they had umbrellas to lend to the guests in case the need arises (ours was confiscated from NAIA and there was a thunderstorm on our second day). We would definitely choose this place again if we'll travel be back in SH.

Perfect location for a Shanghai stay.”
It is right in on top of the Giordano Shop (the I LOVE SH signage). Ideal location for shopping in the People's Square Area. Restos and cafes are very near also. Very near subways and most hop-on-hop-off buses pass the location. Rooms are huge and beds comfortable.

Though at first hard to find, entry also to clothing store, the Hotel is within the major shopping and tourist district of Shanghai. Would recommend to anyone wanting a hotel close to the tourist district.

Can't beat the location”
Excellent location, staff attentive. A big of a language barrier in restaurant but front desk personnel spoke fluent English. A bit older but it will do...can pay 50% or more and get newer and more upscale looking hotel, but this is sufficient for my needs. Agree with some reviewers that the breakfast is the same everyday and doesn't change up at all...stayed for 3 nights.

I liked the free breakfast every morning. A2 Western breakfast comes with bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs. I preferred the pineapple juice to the orange juice. Do not order the shrimp dish for dinner. The shrimps look large in the photograph on the menu. In reality, the shrimps were tiny, better left in the Yellow sea. The soup and beef dinner dishes were good at the 7th floor restaurant. A useful plastic container from the female server to take your food to your room probably costs an extra 2 yuan. One of the servers speaks good English, other female servers a little English or none. Pointing at the menu to order dinner works well. I loved the big bottle of watermelon juice at dinner. Can pay for your dinner using Visa credit card at ' Old Shanghai ' on the 7th floor.

Strategic location ”
Although the room is small but it is strategically located in downtown Shanghai. We can see stores from our room window. Price is great too. It is also the place where we get on bus for city sightseeing..and not far from The Bund

호텔 위치는 최고, 깔끔하고 친절하나 건물과 가구 특성상 오래된 느낌. 수압 괜찮음. 발코니로 나가면 밖이 보이나 뷰는 별로 기대하지 않는게 낫습니다. 로맨틱한 분위기는 없어서 비즈니스 호텔로 묵기 괜찮을듯 합니다. / The location is great, and the staffs are kind. Just the building and furniture are old. City view which can be seen in the balcony is soso. No romantic atmosphere, so would be suitable for reasonable business trip.

An old quaint hotel located near shopping street but 7min walk People Park Metro”
Pro: value for money, room came with breakfast. Issued 2 bf coupons for each room. 4 bf set options and small variety of buffet choices. We stayed for 4 days and ate the same thing over and over again. Located in the heart of the shopping street. Convenient to eat and shop. There was a convenient store nearby. Con: no legal taxi dropoff area. Some taxis may not want to pick us or take our booking. Had to walk 3min to another area for taxi pickup. Does not provide tooth brush/paste in room toilet. Limited small packets of shower gel and shampoo.

Perfect for a night”
We were in Shanghai for only 24H and arrived late in the night, reception was still open, welcome was ok, overnight was ok, our room was clean, beds were comfortable, breakfast is medium, staff at the reception is nice. Location is perfect for start and end the daily sightseeing from hotel.

Its near everything, restaurants, shops, train station, overall it was a great experience. I was just a little bit disappointed because i booked for a Deluxe Room and request them to give me a queen bed because we are a couple but they give us twin bed. The following day i request for room change but they say that they dont have available room, the staffs at the reception cannot communicate english well, since we dont want to ruined our trip we just let it like that and fix the bed instead. And by the way breakfast is so simple and not so good. Its still pretty cheap room that you can find in the centered area. Shops are just outside. Giordano on the ground floor of the building. Just download Google translate because they really dont know how to speak english.

We come by Metro and it is only a short walking distance from the Station (Nanjing East). It`s a pedestrian zone. Perfect location for us to look around the inner city of Shanghai. It is a little bit older, but for this price okay. The rooms are big and the bed okay. Only the breakfast was not good! A desaster for vegetarians, not many choices and very thin coffee. But You can eat all around outside for little money. Thats the way we do ;) Tip: the foodcourt on the access path to the metro station "people's square"... not far away! You can eat good hotpot there for little money.
