Great Location and assistance”
do not pay rmb for ride to hotel unless traveling with 5 other people for van. seventh heaven hotel is seventh heaven. it is right on people's walkway (nanjing road e.) for shopping, eating, and pleasure of shanghai. leave hotel and turn right on nanjing road e. and at first corner on left is very popular snack food cooked and put as many as you want in small bag for you to enjoy on your walk or to prevent hunger pains. you will notice line by this window by native chinese every day. think baklava and you have idea of the pastry used outside this delicious treat. continue on your walk (also on right side) next block is icbc bank if you need to exchange money. next block, also right side is famous shanghai duo yun xuan ( ) if you desire brush, stones used by emperor and elite (for ink), ink for traditional chinese writing, or set for display for your child to encourage their patience and study. they also have paper, stone seals (for your name), jade, wood, carvings, bronze items, fans, etc. many old shops like this have closed and it is nice to have this one which has good reputation and honest quality and prices, while other shops merchandise may be questionable in quality or authenticity. do not get name here in stone (100 rmb for each symbol) - instead turn right and cross 2 streets to have 3 done (for 48 rmb) on seal (tel. ). if you continued walking on nanjing road e past duo yun xuan, cross the street, is fine chopsticks shop just on the right. chopsticks include silver and jade and wood. continue down road and you will come to apple's store on left for any and all computer needs.
My 3rd trip to Shanghai and my 3rd time staying at Seventh Heaven Hotel. We simply love the prime location of the hotel, conveniently located at the main shopping street Nanjing East Road, right above Giordano. It is located in the middle of 2 busy subway stations, about a 10-minute walk to either subway stations - Nanjing East or Ren Ming Guang Chang (People's Square) stations. Rooms are compact, just enough space for 2 persons, and equipped with all you need. Friendly staff and Free Wi-Fi in rooms too. Only downside was that the beds were a little too hard. Overall, definitely great value for money! Will definitely stay there again for our next trip to Shanghai!
Superb Location! Great value!”
This is my 3rd trip to Shanghai and my 3rd time staying at Seventh Heaven Hotel. We simply love the prime location of the hotel, conveniently located at the main shopping street Nanjing East Road, right above Giordano. The superb location gave us easy access to lots of good local food in the area, especially the street right behind Nanjing East Road for cheap local delights. Rooms are compact, just enough space for 2 persons, and equipped with all you need. Free Wi-Fi in rooms too. Great value for money! Will definitely stay there again for our next trip to Shanghai!
We loved the Seventh Heaven Hotel, the location couldn't have been better, right on the pedestrian shopping mall, with the big bus tourist stop out the front as well. The staff were helpful and the laundry service super fast! We didn't eat at the hotel because we are in Shanghai and the plethora of quality restaurants was too tempting to settle for hotel food! If / When we return to Shanghai we would definitely stay here again!
Smack in the middle”
Travelling through Shanghai on a solo business trip and the seventh heaven hotel was the high light of the trip. It is centrally located on the door step of Nanjing east raod pedestrial street with so much to see and do it was easier for me to go back and forth from the hotel to my next destination. Located in between East Nanjing road and Peoples Square Metro Station it is easy access from either International Airport, just take line 2 from either airport and arrive within minutes walking distance to the hotel. Staff was great and helpful with their limited English and my terrible Cantonese. You can easily walk to the Bund (25mins) and within 30 minutes of virtually anywhere by metro...
location location location”
i am very satisfied with our stay at the seventh heaven hotel. all the reviews i have read are true. the location is the best. line 2 and line 10 are 5 minutes walk away from the hotel entrance. you are smack right in the middle of nanjing east road where all the happenings are going on. this is where the tourists go. in between howard johnson hotel and sofitel. so many food choices around. from expensive restaurants, to the not so expensive food chains and the delicious stalls where the locals fall in line for their daily sustenance. i fell in love with the place. except for the buffet breakfast. there is no variety - same food choices everyday. coffee, tea, orange juice and milk. hard boiled eggs. dumplings. smoked sausages. greens. noodles. congee. loaf bread which you can toast, margarine and strawberry jam. but this is a minor issue, since as mentioned above - you can go out and get breakfast nearby. overall, i made the right decision in staying here. i will stay again next time i visit shanghai. best part of it all is for first timers, the city sightseeing bus stops right in front of the hotel. you can pay the man outside, he will give you tickets for the hop on hop off bus. the best way to see shanghai.
Best Location for Business and Shopping”
a) about the hotel. the space of room is in standard limited best for 2 people. but there is free wi-fi at lobby. while in the room is free connect by a cable. starting by 5th-6th floors are the business office. and 7th is the lobby while start from 8th up to 16th are hotel rooms service. although a bit small room but fantastic in best location at the heart of all shopping malls. b) about the shopping. here is the best offer, since its ground floor is giodano shop, you can done it when outside got rainning. normally, from the front of hotel, you can walk along this long walking street, there are fully of shops and department stores,(whole nanjing street & nearby) until 10:00pm as their closing time. c) about the location. since its surroundings are all hotels and plenty of shops & malls in middle heart of people square, so first your shopping can be done easily for day & nightimes. second, yes it's very near to mrt station.. just only 1-2 minutes walk. third, you can went out by walking to either shanghai musuem or go to the most famous shopping market called as "yuyuan garden – shanghai city god temple (cheng huang miao of shanghai)... this area they offer all souvenirs for the tourists. only 10 minutes walk from the hotel. d) about the meal. this area is best for foreigners who prefer mc.donals, kfc, ajisen ramen, subway, etc. while others are plenty of local chinese foods & shop such as red pork, wan-tan & noodles. e) about travelling & fee. the cab from pudong airport to hotel & vise versa (it's taken approx 55 minutes to 1.15 hrs) will cost about rmb.160-190/trip. while mrt from people's square to shanghai exhibition hall in zhoujiadu (5 stations in blue track) this will cost only rmb.4.00 per a passenger ticket or can drop at next station is "yaohua road"
Good value for money hotel in perfect location”
Locations in Shanghai don't come better than this - right on the Nanjing pedestrian mall in the Shanghai city centre, roughly half way between the 'People's Square' and the 'Nanjing East' subway stations. Only a few minutes walk to each. The Shanghai subway is the best in the world, a great inexpensive way to travel around Shanghai. The hotel itself is definitely a budget place - old and frayed around the edges. OK for a few nights stay - we stayed for 5. The room and bedding were clean and the bathroom good. The staff were helpful and spoke some English. For the price, this a worthy proposition for the budget conscious looking for an inexpensive accommodation in Shanghai. The location is perfect.
Convenient Location, Great Value for Money”
We enjoyed our stay at Seventh Heaven Hotel. We feel this hotel is great value for money and the location was extremely convenient for shopping and walking to local sights like the museum and The Bund. Our room had nice views over the people's walking street. We found our room to be clean & equipped with all the essentials for a short stay. Shower had good water flow and was nice & hot, air-conditioning worked great and was easily set at preferred temperature, beds were firm but not uncomfortable and hot & cold drinking water was provided. The hot water was just about hot enough for coffee, but coffee was not provided A Chinese breakfast was included, which may not suit everyone, but I didn't mind at all. Selection included boiled eggs, toast, noodles, dumplings, buns, corn on the cob and a green type steamed vegetable (bok choy ?), tea & coffee as well as a rice type soup dish that I didn't try. Reception desk staff spoke basic levels of English and were happy to organise the taxi to take us to the airport at the end of our stay. They also provided us with a power adaptor when we found ours didn't suit. Room service staff did not speak English at all. Minor negatives that we were happy to accept given this is a 3 star hotel and not a 5 star luxury hotel included we did request a queen bed and were given two twin beds, we requested room on higher floor but were given room on level 9, there was some noise on the first night as there were festivities occurring in the street associated with public holidays. We were told checkout was 12 noon and we packed up our bags & left them in the room after breakfast for some last minute shopping. When we returned at 11.15 am we found the cleaning staff in our room stripping the beds and getting ready for the next guests.
the location of this hotel is central.”
I have stay at this hotel for 10 days with my family with young children and grand mother. the location make us easier to go anywhere. there is china sightseeing bus in front of hotel that RMB30/psn for 1 line 24 hours.Rmb40/psn for 2 line. and big buss tour at the back of the hotel for rmb300/prs for 2 days. child could play out every night at the park below the hotel. we could also walk to people square at 25 minute. the metro-line 2 just 10 minute aways. many restaurant and shops with very attractive offer. even you feel tire with your whole day tour, you ll like to sit on the park to see the performance from communitiy. it is very amazing place. I will stay here again when we visit shanghai.
Central location and very comfortable hotel”
I like to stay in the Seven Heaven Hotel Shanghai as the location is very good,on the Nanjing walking street where we can find many restaurants and department store. The hotel is very clean ,the room is a little bit small but is OK if we looked back of the price,The lobby is on the seventh floor and the stafs is friendly and can speak English.
Central location, good value and helpful staff”
The Seventh Heaven Hotel was a good deal that included a buffet breakfast in the centre of Nanjing road. The staff were very helpful in their local knowledge and arranging a taxi.
I like to stay in Seventh Heaven Shanghai Hotel because the location is very good ,it is at the centre of the famous pedestrian streeet of Nanjing East Road. The room is clean and bright,Taxi and metro is nearby
Good stay at Seventh Heaven Hotel”
We stay at this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel is very good if we go to Shanghai for shopping and sight seeing. The metro stations (People's square and East Nanjing Road) are in walking distance. There are many attactions nearby such as Nanjing pedestrian walk street, People's square, Shanghai Museum, The Bund, and Yuyuan Garden.
Great Location in the heart of Nanjing Road”
i booked this hotel on my cousin's behalf cos i am registered with agoda and i had previously booked a stay in beijing through agoda. she had visited shanghai with her 70 year old mother and two teenaged children. they really liked the location of the hotel which is in the heart of nanjing shopping road. they liked the clean rooms too. they could communicate in english with the hotel reception staff and were really satisfied with the courtesy. the bathroom fittings as she told me was a bit dated but functional nevertheless. everything of interest could be reached within walking distance like the bund and other places of interest.
Enjoyed our short stay in Shanghai. From the accommodation point of view, we had no complaints. Friendliness of staff is something we need to get used to. It's the Shanghai or the Chinese culture not to provide friendly service. People smoke indoor despite no smoking sign posted everywhere. ... if you're a smoker...you'd be in 7th heaven. Sadly not us. We suffered tremendously.
Brand of Old Shanghai ”
This is an old hotel of Shanghai city, its location is just at the middle of Nanjing walking street, and near to People Square metro Station & Nanjing East Road Station, but if you have large bags and need a lift or escalator for both up & down, Nanjing East Rd Station Exit 2 is the best point. Everything is just at the door step, city tour bus stop, train ticket counter. There are many restaurants in those food halls around the area. Hotel can be identified by the big display of temperature and Giodano store. Hotel breakfast menu is either Chinese or Western with 2 slices of bread, if you are not picky, then should be fine. I like the room as it is spacious and is wooden floor which give you a peace of mind from carpet bugs and other smell, there is a bucket drinking water dispenser in the room and you can just refill whenever you need without any charges. I was fortunate to have the deluxe room at very low price, will definite stay again for my next visit.
My second time in this hotel!!”
This is my 2nd time staying in Seventh Heaven Hotel. The location of the hotel is good as it is near both Nanjing East Road Station and People's Square Station, and it is located right in the middle of the famous Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street with lots of shopping centres.
Old but good ”
Seventh Heaven hotel was clean and comfortable. Perfect location near Nanjing road. All the staff were good and helpful. It is an old hotel but maybe that gives it some historical charm. The view out my window towards Nanjing road was five star.
Please choose this hotel ”
If go Shanghai, please stayed here. Near to 2 subway station: people's square and nanjing east road. Walking distance to bund. In tourist spot and surround with shopping, food and antique building. Fast check in, nice staff.
