ALVA HOTEL BY ROYAL
Sha Tin,Sha Tin - View on map
"Very nice new hotel in sha tin. Rooms were modern and spacious, shower was large. Great bike rental scheme, just pay deposit which is cancelled when you return the bike. Only downside was having to book a slot at the pool and gym due to covid restrictions but not the fault of hotel. Food at restaurants and coffee shop good quality. Would happily stay again, not much better value in HK. "

Regal Riverside Hotel

"The Regal Riverside is an excellent hotel located in Sha Tin right on the river. The staff is excellent. The rooms are fantastic. Very comfortable. Easy access to the Sha Tin MTR via any number of busses. Near the Sha Tin MTR station are several shopping malls with everything that you can find in Tsim Tsa Tsui. The best part is along both sides of the river are excellent bicycle trails and across from the hotel is a great place to rent bicycles at a very reasonable price. Even though Sha Tin is a very busy neighborhood it is a breath of fresh air when compared to TST. Highly recommended."

Hyatt Regency Sha Tin Hotel
Sha Tin,Sha Tin - View on map
"the regency suite had excellent views as did the executive lounge where the snacks, canapes and drinks were excellent. it was all worth the price since i was with mum who couldn't have travelled or walked as a tourist would in hk, so staying in for a day became easy with breakfast and dinner almost paid for in the price of the room. good views, good food and drinks and a relaxed atmosphere away from the humdrum helped connect with mum after a long time. the food in the main restaurant was great and it was indeed 5 star service when i cringed a bit when mum wanted freshly squeezed mix fruit juice instead of the individual squeezed ones available on the buffet - but they got it for her. and also did the egg hard boiled instead of the soft boil on the buffet. just that it did take 4 different waiters to figure out what i was saying when i said 'hard boiled', not sure if they understood 'haboy' or were just sounding it when they questioned hard-boiled. but then english is not my first language and restaurants may have a different term for what we wanted. lack of international channels - apart from your regular cnn bbc discovery etc. was disappointing. with business hub for asians as well as others, i expected more asian international channels. the bus service from hyatt sha tin to hyatt downtown was much useful. on a different note must appreciate the name for their bar 'tin'tin' in sha tin - but it was always empty and boring. yet all in all relaxed stay and no complaints."

Royal Park Hotel
Sha Tin,Sha Tin - View on map
"this hotel is based in sha tin in the new territories which was perfect for us as we needed to be near family in the nt. its a few stops away from kowloon but i think its worth staying away from the hustle and bustle. amazing shopping and plenty of places to eat and a bit more relaxed than kowloon / tst. we had a high room overlooking the park which was beautiful and its minutes away from sha tin station. the hotel has a free shuttle to tst and its easy to get the a41 from the airport which stops outside. the room was big with very comfortable beds and was perfect for us - we couldnt fault it at all and will definitelyt stay here agin"

More about Sha Tin

Among the second batch of satellite towns to be built in the New Territories on land reclaimed from the sea, Sha Tin is comprised of mainly residential areas lining the banks of the Shing Mun River Channel.

A network of cycle tracks throughout Sha Tin measuring 50km is the longest cycle track network in Hong Kong. The area was heralded by the Hong Kong government as a model new town, and visiting foreign dignitaries were often invited to tour the area and its modern housing estates upon completion. In addition to its residential areas, Sha Tin has four industrial areas for light industries: Tai Wai, Fo Tan, Siu Lek Yuen and Shek Mun.

The Chinese University of Hong Kong is located in Sha Tin. Visitors typically arrive via the MTR East Rail Line, disembarking at the University Station, and a minibus service operates on campus. Also in the district is Hong Kong's Sha Tin equestrian racecourse with a capacity of up to 85,000. The racecourse hosted the equestrian events during the 2008 Summer Olympics.
