Great location with amazing staff.”
Shah's Village is located in a prime spot for visitors without transportation. It is located just steps away from the high speed railway system and within 20 minutes one can be at the Twin Towers for business or shopping. Directly across the street is a tower/mini-mall with basic shopping needs met from Starbuck's and groceries to clothing and foot massage. Each employee we encountered at Shah's was personable and informative, quite customer friendly. The housekeeping staff was timely, thorough, and accommodating, as well. We opted for the least expensive room which did not include breakfast. Previously we have eaten there and found their morning breakfast had a wide selection and very tasty. The hotel is kept very clean and functional although the rooms are outdated. For the personnel, price, and location we feel we certainly got a bargain.

Close to the city of Kuala Lumpur”
(Note: Nostalgic rambling in the first paragraph) Growing up in Petaling Jaya, Shah Village Hotel formed part of what we call the "A&W" walk. That's the street you turn into to get to the hotel, or as I prefer to address it, a motel. Yes, the one direction street consists of A&W, 2 privates clubs, a multi storey parking lot cum food court and this motel. Sadly, all of them seemed to have seen better days. Well, if first impression says it all the word to best describe this motel is "tired". But let it not put you off. Parking's free and check in was also hassle free. The reception area is nice although the bar doesn't look like it's been utilized much. I booked a "standard room" which consists of a twin bed arrangements. Again, "tired" is how I would describe the room but at this price point, I'm not too fussy about it and after all, I really planned to show my foreign friend around town most of time anyway. The room was adequate. The aircond worked, the toilet was big enough. The room also comes with a TV (some satellite channels), a fridge, hot water flask, hair dryer and most importantly, an in room safe. If you can get past the "tired" way everything looks, the room is actually quite nice. The best thing about this hotel is that it's closely situated to the LRT train station, a short 5 minute walk away. A ticket to town, say, Pasar Seni (the older side of KL), is RM2 one way. Twin towers would probably be an addition ringgit, not more I think... If venturing into town is not your thing, the nearby Amcorp Mall or PJ New Town host enough shops, restaurants, banks, etc to get you going. Like spicy, authentic Malay food? The nearby food court is great but watch the chillies! Chinese, Thai, Indian? Not too far away either. Got a friend who's a local? Meet, greet and park up at the motel. The Agoda deal came with buffet breakfast, a good spread of Western and Eastern fare. Overall, a good motel at a good location.

It could be so much nicer!”
Very close to the LRT train station and free parking. Sports facilities and cool bars are just next door. The atrium with pool and palm trees is very pretty and the staff is really friendly. Breakfast is classical Malaysian and quite good as well! But sadly the rooms are very run down: it's time for some serious renovation work: the walls need new paint, new beds and furniture would help and the really nice wooden floor desperately needs a polish. It could be so much nicer at Shah's Village Hotel!

Accessible place”
Stayed at Shah's Village for a few days. It was a pleasant stay, the rooms were clean, however towels on the first day seemed slightly dirty. Used my own towel throughout my stay there. The hotel only provided one hour of free wifi, thereafter, there's a charge to the wifi. Indeed, Shah's village is old and I do think that they could do more with improving/renovating the toilets in the rooms, and clean the air conditioning unit in the room. Overall, it was a good stay. A&W and a public swimming complex is just beside the hotel. Though the music from the pub at the swimming complex could be quite loud at times and might affect your sleep. Other than that, it's a not too bad stay.

Old, Clean, Nice, Serenity Hotel”
I love this hotel. Its a feeling of old hotel back in the 70s, 80s. Shah's still kept the same architecture and maintain it as it is. I will be back if I am coming to PJ again

hotel with personal service”
I stayed at Shah's Village recently for a business meeting. Located a bit isolated, the hotel ambience very quite, check-in was very quick and my room just nice and clean. Although all room facilities: tv-set, furniture and bed looks very old, but seems very well maintained. The service very good, almost every staff is very helpful. I would definitely travel here again, for either business or pleasure.

TRUE MALAYSIA'S VILLAGE EXPERIENCE ”
Located in the heart of PJ. Within walking distance to sky train station Taman Jaya, A&W fast food restaurant and sports centre. You can find authentic Malay cuisines at this hotel too. Designated carpark for driving guests. The room mimics those in the village. No carpets. No mosquito net. Just electrically powered mosquito repellent. Overall, it's very comfortable. The room door uses metal room key, not the card. Not many choices of amenities provided in the room. No iron in the room. You can press your clothes at the 2nd floor. Furniture in the room is quite rusty, except the TV.

Convenient, comfortable and helpful”
we enjoyed our stay. shah's is a mid-range hotel in a good location for public transport, restaurants and next door to a 50 metre pool. the reception area looks good, although we did suffer from mosquitos, which might have been avoided if there had been air conditioning and more light in the reception and lounge area. the rooms are comfortable with everything you need, and adequately clean, though not pristine. we were on the road side so there was some traffic noise. the staff were consistently pleasant, polite and helpful.

Scenic Nostalgic Hotel”
Stayed in a family room. Room was spacious. Furniture and amenities were old but it was expected. Location of the hotel is great as it is close to the Gombak-Kelana Jaya LRT line. Amcorp mall is closeby. Nearest eating place is A&Ws PJ. For meals, you can turn left upon exiting the hotel and head across to PJ New Town (Section 52) which has many types of food including famous braised duck which people from all over KL go to eat. Breakfast was a little limited but acceptable.

Lovely old Shabby Chic hotel”
We have stayed here before and always been happy. The hotel is a quadrangle with a crystal clear pool in its centre. You can feel totally insulated from the bustle of KL around the poolside. The breakfast is ok but there are dozens of cafes a hundred yards in each direction from the front door. The overhead railway (taman jaya) is a similar distance....10 min to KL central.Next door is a new sport and leisure centre.brilliant location.
