Good view of the ocean and sunset”

What I liked most about this inn is that it's in front of the ocean and you can view the lighthouse and sunset from their dining area. They also serve food but I find it a bit pricey. The room was clean and they have a heater in the shower room. I just hope that the checkout time is not 7:30AM, too early.

please read real reviews”

I always thought some people are so meant to be blatantly frank when they do the reviews. Ignoring the real ones, made our stay in Basco miserable. While reading some of those reviews, am awfully thinking, are those real..? I mean those good ones..? To make mine, a fact to prove, please read those real reviews, esp from those people who narrated long but are all real..! Batanes is so beautiful, but this inn is exactly the opposite how Batanes looks!

Excellent location...”

Basco is a small town so every hotel you plan to stay in the area is walking distance to all the restaurants, convenience stores, and souvenir shops. The good thing about Shanedel's is that it's located beside the ocean so you get a very spectacular view of the sunrise and sunset. The place was clean as well and they have their own restaurant. In terms of value for money, its expensive but so as other hotel and things if you go to Batanes.

Worst Inn in Batanes!!!”

My stay in Batanes is awesome until i checked-in in this Inn! The staff is somehow rude, the room is not that clean, we got a shared CR and it is very smelly. Other homestays in Batanes are lot okay compared here. That's why I stayed here for almost 10 hours only. I regret booking my one night here.

no hot water”

Room has no hot water morning and night, the heater not working, water pressure too low. I and my friends nearly got sick after getting chilled getting cold baths. Worse if the weather is even colder. Also there is no watcher at the entrance so any say hold uppers can easily go inside and enter your room. Dangerous for solo and couple travelers.

Nice Location, reasonable pricing”

The property is located right in front of sea, and one can have a nice view of port on one side and volcano on the other side. Rooms are nice, clean and stuffs are friendly. One of best place to stay at Basco.

Quiet and cozy place. ”

Place is quiet and has a nice view. A little expensive for the budget since some accommodations were not included: breakfast, laundry and complimentary water. Overall, I would stay here if it’s the only available place or if you’re on a very tight budget.

Didn't know I was coming”

It was awkward coming there and being received by women who did not know I was coming just because they couldn't check their emails due to the lack of Internet signal. (I did not have such problem with the other lodging house in the area where I stayed the next day.) Good thing I have the Agoda booking confirmation printed. When I told them that I am only staying for one night, they said they actually have a 2-night minimum stay and will update their booking conditions with Agoda. They prepared my room in a rush. The CR has a functional water heater but was connected to the adjacent room; I'm just glad that there was no occupant on the other side because I don't like shared bathrooms. The worst part was that they did not give me the room's key. I had to bring all my money and phone when I went for a stroll. To be fair, they were trying their best. I guess they're just not well-prepared. Also, there's a nice view of the sea and sunset/sunrise in the dining area. And I had a good night sleep--The environment was quiet, the aircon and cable TV were functional, and there was no Internet signal. It's the perfect time to disconnect.

Perfect if only the aircon was optimally working”

The staff was very welcoming which added to the chill vibe of the place. Location is very close to the Itbayat port and to a nearby cafe. The room and bathroom were both spacious and clean. Our only regret was that the aircon couldn't keep up with the heat. We would leave the aircon turned on and once we got back to the room, the room was still very hot. The air coming from the aircon was hot and dry. In fact, it was even hotter inside the room even if the owner gave 2 fans already. I hope Shanedel's Inn would get an aircon with a higher horsepower that can cool the entire room. We loved the place!!! Just really have to improve the aircon.

Check out time is too early”

This is the only inn I have ever checked in that has a mandatory check out time of 7 AM. You have to pay Php 500 if you want to extend until 11AM. You don't get to enjoy your stay since you have to check out early. The TV's not working so as the heater. Not worth your money.

AWFUL STAY”

INEFFICIENT 1. Despite of not using our paid room on 1st day, we still waited for more than an hour prior checking in to our room. 2. Delay in serving the food, despite our pre-scheduled 7pm dinner and pre-ordered dish. ACCOMMODATION 1. Rusty toilet knob - this is risky for Tetanus if you have wound in your hand 2. No floor drain in the toilet - splash of water from the shower (even with curtain) tends to build up. 3. Lots of dog feces in the grassy area - one could step on this esp at night and spread throughout the area. Smelly!!! 4. No hot and cold water available anytime for guest. STAFF BEHAVIOUR 1. Turning their back when you ask for hot water 2. Not cleaning the room despite of their scheduled 3rd day cleaning. You still need to call their attention. 3. Not accommodating - No genuine smile If you want to feel homey, DO NOT stay at Shanedel's Inn.

Good Location But Poor Service”

The location is perfect. It is near to the airport and other establishments like banks, church, ports and restaurants. However, the service was not so good. They prioritize foreigners. I already paid for a triple room for two nights but when I arrived they asked me to transfer to another room which is a double room with no aircon and TV, because they said they were not informed by Agoda about my booking and they need to accept another guest for the triple room. They even asked me to transfer to another hotel. I just accepted their offer to transfer to another room which is a downgrade. Lastly, there are many mosquitos.

I stayed at Shanedels last Mar7-11,2018. Its a perfect place for sunset viewing. My friends and I enjoy the the sunset at there restaurant while having our snack around 5pm. The place is clean. Big rooms with Ac. The bathroom is clean as well. shower comes with heater. The thing i like most about Shanedels is that the owner is very nice. Shes very caring and very hands on.
