Situated in the heart of historic London, the elegant Shangri-La Hotel At The Shard is the city’s first elevated hotel offering exciting dining options, luxurious bedrooms, and panoramic views over the city. We had a great stay at ShangriLa. The hotel stuff is so so friendly. We had an Ionic room with an amazing view. The room was really big, comfortable and very clean. However when you book the afternoon tea 6 months in advance and when you have one of the most expensive hotel rooms, I expect to have a window seat during afternoon tea. We were seated in the back and only after some checking, we could take a table at the window. Also we had to wait 15 minutes in the morning for a table for breakfast. We asked for water until we were seated, this seemed to be a problem at first. Breakfast was not included in the £640 room/night and was very expensive. I had much better breakfasts in other hotels. Also our ordered newspaper wasn't there. Great hitel with an amazing view, but for such a price, I expect perfect service.
Definitely a great hotel with super convenient location, good view of tower bridge, spacious room and helpful staff. Tube and train station area just next door, surrounded by many good restaurant & 24 hours convenient stores.
Fantastic Hotel, but expensive”
The hotel here is fantastic, with awesome views from the rooms (and their bar on the 52nd floor). The rooms and amenities are all great too and the staff were brilliant, and looked after us throughout our stay. But it is expensive, and it's difficult to justify the extra cost for what you get compared to other London hotels. Look for good offers or splurge for a special occasion.
Very nice hotel but location could have better”
Shangri la's flagship hotel in Europe , together the one in Paris , distinguish itself from other shangri la's business Hotel image . Very spacious room and bathroom with top facilities , great view from the shard, nice staff, offer some Asian food options but overall food quality needs to be improved . Busy breakfast and sometimes small Mistakes occurs. Location is on south wharf and need to travel to the other side of the river for tourist spot . If for tourists , maybe not a perfect location . But overall very nice stay
It has the wow factor”
This hotel is exactly what you expect, first class in every way, and a price tag to match, but if you want to have a great experience staying in London then tough to beat this for the views, modernity, and service.
Same view, same experience”
Beautiful views, second to none in London. Very pricey but totally worth it for a one-time experience. Not a good second visit for me, considering that I already had a bad first experience. Was invited to stay again with a free upgrade but my check-in was delayed for 2.5 hours until the winter daylight is over. Not too happy with how they communicate within the establishment. Same experience with the first visit, lack of communication between the departments within the hotel. Service level not comparable to other Shangri-La properties. At breakfast, staff we're not attentive. Most walk past avoiding eye-contact, despite you trying to get their attention. Tried getting the attention of the captain, same outcome. Only one staff, a young man from Australia, was helpful and he made my day. My bad experiences aside, this hotel has a very good and convenient location, excellent facilities, both in the room and in common areas. As mentioned earlier, it is worth the experience.
the best and coolest hotel in europe”
they upgraded us when they found out we are on our last day of honeymoon which is super sweet!!!!! of them, the view is amazing, so the London eye can go to hell, it is like so much taller than the London eye, your bathtub you can chill and turn off all the lights and enjoy the flickering lights of London, see the sunrise, and cool swimming pool.the staff are so professional and so kind and friendly . breakfast is a mix of western (75%) and oriental (25%) cool. its romantic and although pricey but really its worth every bit of it, and I thought its pricey, but when I lived there wow, its worth it, great way to end your holiday, book your last stay there. right on top of the London bridge, damn near to the borough market, great great great!
Unforgettable stay, a must in London”
Excellent scene from the hotel room, both the sunset and night scene were unforgettable. There were fruits and hot tea welcoming the guest. I could make coffee on my own with the coffee machine available in the room. The bed is large and comfortable. I have enjoyed my stay very much
Stayed 4D 3N, in the premier room... the view from my room is just incredible, facing Tower Bridge and River Thames. This is probably the best view from a hotel room that I ever stayed in London. Apart from that, the check in was quick and friendly, just what I needed after an 11 hr flight. I didn't manage to book at Ting as it was fully booked, but ordering in the room is very good. The sky pool on 52nd floor is a must place to experience in the hotel. The gym, located on the same floor, while small is just great due to the fantastic view. Will definitely come again to stay.
I highly recommend this hotel. It is expensive and you could have 1 week away in a self-catered accommodation for the price of 1 night here but the experience will stay with you forever; it is worth it.
Excellent all round although the Ting restaurant was a little too pretentious for us. When we made a complaint about the length the main course had taken the waiter was very dismissive and said it takes that long to cook a medium rare duck ~ 50 minutes? He was not the slightest bit interested and more like "how you dare criticise the Ting staff". However, the room, bathroom and views are worth going for.
Great Hotel, but bar prices can't be justified”
Great room and facilities (and of course the view exceptional). Made use of the lovely swimming pool. Only criticism was the price for drinks in the bar, which at £10 for a small beer and £4 for a tonic can't, in my opinion, be justified, whatever the view!
Amazing experience ”
We visited the Shard , Shangri La Hotel for a 2 night break to watch the trooping the colour to celebrate our 50th ! All I can say from the moment we arrived to when we left it was an amazing experience, we stayed in a deluxe city view room overlooking London Bridge you could see St Paul, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London and wonderful views of the city and Thames and a short stroll to the famous Borough Market for a spot of street food lunch ! Staff were excellent and very attentive, food in the TING restaurant was absolutely delicious, a dip in the skypool is a must ... I can’t fault the stay apart from not long enough 😀! Thanks to Shangari La for your excellent facilities and service , we will return one day for sure Mark and Julie from Nottingham
very nice service ”
I lost my card and lost my hermes bag in hotel but the staff returned to me. It’s very touch and make me felling so warm
Super convenient location, great view, friendly staff ”
Will definitely stay in this hotel again in my next visit to London
Birthday celebration was amazing ”
We booked for a Freind was absolutely amazing the hotel it self was so nice not forgetting the heated seats on the toilet, staff were amazing location is great, food in the the restaurant was nice, breakfast was included and was amazing would definitely go back
A must stay”
From the moment you arrive at the Shangri-La Hotel you are treated like royalty, while you check in you are given a glass of champagne. The reception staff are very friendly and professional. Check in time is 3 o'clock but we arrived at 11.30 am and our room was ready for us so we didn't have to wait around, which was fantastic! The room you can not fault at all it is perfect, big comfortable bed big tv, coffee machine, it has everything you would need for a nice stay. The bathroom was massive with a big double shower and a bath tub in the middle of the room facing the amazing view over London. We didn't eat at either restaurant as we had other plans but the menu looked amazing, we did go up to the 54th floor where there is a bar again with amazing views over the city. The bar has an extensive drinks and cocktail menu, the only slightly negative think i would say is that some of the cocktails are quite expensive. I personally didn't mind paying the prices as it was a special occasion.
This is the second time I had stayed here with my partner. I Booked this time for his birthday. which was a nice little treat! We didn't have the city view room but the view was still amazing! the bath tub was right next to the window which I spent an hour in looking at London. The breakfast was lovely also! it is expensive for one night but it's deffo. treat!
This hotel is absolutely stunning. The staff are friendly and amazing and their attention to details is incredible. The service we received was flawless and felt like we mattered to them in every way. Nothing was too much trouble and their assistance made our experience memorable. I will definitely be staying here again at some point in the near future and to be honest i can't wait for when that day comes.
We booked this for our Son and his girlfriend - he proposed to her whilst they were staying with you, she said yes which is super - we normally stay in one of the older hotels in London but may well try our the Shard next time we are down in London
