The staff went above and beyond, particularly have to thank Oliva who assisted us a few times during our stay and offered great advice on where to go.

Unforgettable!”

Staff in the gym was absolutely prompt to sanitize the gym equipment and restock water and towels almost immediately. Hotel provided complimentary assistance of booking bullet train tickets, making restaurant reservations, and changing of large Yen notes to smaller notes. Would recommend anyone going to Tokyo to stay at Shangri-La!

Perfect hotel for good night rest in busiest city”

room location and service

I booked this hotel for my 65 year old father and his friend who want to enjoy both busy city and demand luxury night rest. The room size is spacious. The quality of bedding is one of the best. The location is better than mandarin oriental where we stayed last year.

best hotel for family with less than 2y old baby”

service, clean and location

I first thought that less than 18 year old is not allowed in this luxury hotel as stated on the policy section (agoda website) After I email the reservation directly, the answer was yes, baby is allow. Even more, when I arrive at the room, the extra bed, big enough for 6-7 year old to sleep in, was provided without additional charged. the room was spacious enough for my 1.5 year old who just starts to walk can enjoy of walk and run in the room while my wife went shopping. Never disappoint.....

Location, shopping

Shangri-la Tokyo has the best room facilities in terms of connectivity for your electronic gadgets. The room provides all kinds of wires to hook up your ipod, laptop, or other gadgets to the audio and video system in the room. Very thoughtful. Also, the location is great for shopping and dinning.

You get what you pay for”

Superb location. The hotel entrance is only about 25 meters from the nearest gate of the Tokyo station, with direct links to the Narita Express, the Shinkansen Network as well as the ever so popular Yamanote line, which circles the city and stops at most tourist hotspots. Rooms are exceptionally big and comfortable, with all imagineable amenities. Bathtub with a view in the premier rooms is great. Employees are „over the top“ friendly without exception. It went to the level where I found myself a little out of place with all the bowing and demonstration of respect. The pool was very relaxing and I guess it‘s hardly ever full, because the Shangri-La is not huge. It only occupies the top (roughly) ten floors of the tower. Breakfast was too expensive for what it was. All very nicely presented, and food of very good quality, and the made to order main course always fine, but 4‘400 Yen per adult is not a great value. Hope to overcome my lazyness in the future and eat elsewhere.

Rude and condescending receptionists”

The female receptionists are SO rude in this hotel. I was reminded sternly twice that the check-out time was 12. And was later even told "since my flight was at 3pm, there wouldn't be any problems checking out right?" Oh my god! Did she think I'll lock myself in the room and refuse to check out on time? What in the world? I golly well know what the check out time is. I never get reminded of check out time in any of the high-end hotels I stayed in. It was all just welcome to our hotel and have a pleasant stay. What is with this horrible service Shangri-la???? Furthermore, I paid for imperial garden view and got a view of all buildings and the Tokyo station. I later told them about this, and they insisted that they gave me the right room. It was all buildings, there wasn't a smidge of garden please! Check-out with equally horrible with another female reception staff. It seems that Shangri-la reception is consistently poor. Terrible reception, I will never stay with them again

Staff excellence”

Service is the key word and spaciousness is a commodity that is found here. Staff were attentive during a difficult time when the recent earthquake stopped the Shinkansen from running etc. Staff ran up and down stairs checking on guests and took our heavy bags down by hand. Yes I would recommend this hotel.

relaxing place in central location”

Very comfortable, full of amenities, good service.

Shangri-la never fails to live up to its name. It's located at tokyo station, a central location, with all the main metro lines and airport express within reach. The service is fantastic, they were happy to make restaurant reservations for us before our arrival, and they even offered to keep our extra baggage in the hotel for 9 days after we checked out, when all we did was enquire with them about long term storage at tokyo station! This is a huge help for us as we didn't want to lug around multiple luggages while traveling to Kyoto and Osaka, before coming back to Tokyo again. The room itself: fabulous. Huge for tokyo standards. We got a deluxe room, and somehow ended up in the corner room, with a huge shower/ bathroom that had a window looking towards the city. The room had all we need, and much more. The bed promises a good night sleep, and I can barely hear any noise from the corridor. Would totally stay there again.

An oppulent reward on our last night in Japan”

Location, luxury and staff

Our stay at Shangri-La Tokyo was an indulgence for our last night in Japan having been there for three (3) weeks. Perfect location, room and staff with excellent Wi-Fi and English newspaper delivered in the morning. Being a luxury hotel they do gouge you in the dining room and bar but as said this was our chosen indulgence so you had to expect that the wallet was going to take a thrashing.

Spacious room, hi-quality and still quite new

All are up to 5-star standards. Unexpectedly the room was quite spacious. Among a few hotels we stayed during our trip to Japan, here was the best! I wished the swimming pool was family oriented, even suitable for children, but what they had was just a 3 lane narrow pool for adults. Overall, worth for money.
