I really enjoyed my stay in Shangri-La Vancouver. It is located a block away from Robson street. The restaurant Market by Jean George's has excellent service and taste in food. If you don't mind paying a little premium to get first class service I highly recommend the hotel.
This is the tallest and newest hotel in Vancouver and is fitted out to an exceptional stadard throughout. The rooms are really spacious and the ensuites have to be seen to be believed. Our package included b/fast which was a full menu in the hotel signature restaurant and again was very good. The only flaw we found was the reception area had only room for one check-in desk and a group of 8 arrived just before us meaning a long wait after a long journey-but the rest was just perfect, including location.
Brilliant Service. Imaginative room setup. ”
Shangri-La Vancouver is a real 5 Star Hotel. The room concept is brilliant. Room comfort is second to non.
We arrived at the hotel early, having come off a cruise ship and to our surprise our room was ready and we had been upgraded to a suite. The suite was very nice, clean and modern, all things were operated by switches, incl the drapes. We had to find the telephone number of an aunt and the concierge went to extraordinary lengths to assist us, which was very pleasing and during our stay his friendliness and help was first class. We have stayed at Shangri La Hotels before and this one surpassed our expectations
Very nice hotel!!!!”
Beautiful hotel!! A must when in Vancouver!!
Comfortable hotel in a good location. Smaller than most shangri-la hotels I have stayed in.
This hotel truely rates. The customer service is the BEST we have ever had at any hotel and we have stayed at lots of very nice hotels/resorts around the world. They greeted us by name, when they seen us leave or arrive thoughout our stay they again always greeted us. When departing they walked us to our vehicle and gave us bottled water for our drive. It's all the little things that make this hotel stand out from others. The rooms were very comfortable. We did upgrade to a suite which for an extra $50.00 we had a seperate bedroom and larger square footage. Our bathroom was amazing, huge walk in shower, seperate room for the tolit, a huge bath tub with an electric mirror ( tv within the mirror) Pretty cool, to say the least. There was a latte/cappichino machine in the room as well as a fully stocked bar. The ammenities were awesome, including toothbrushes, toothpaste, razer, shaving cream as well as all the other extras. Nice soaps, shampoos, ect. Would return in a heart beat. Location is also prime, minutes to Robson Street and Pacific Centre mall. We WILL RETURN. :)
Fantastic stay in Vancuver”
That's an amazing stay! I had a wonderful time there, nice staff, the hotel is in the city downtown! I hope that I can have another wonderful trip in this hotel!
Late check in”
We checked in late and the staff was very polite. Our room was clean and the bathtub was a nice touch. The room service however is not up to a 5 star hotel. The menu was all over the place and the only offered a very limited night menu. We asked if they knew of any delivery good services as it was late and we were tired. They couldn't offer any solution so we left the hotel for dinner. It's not what I would've expected from a 5 star hotel.
Shangri-La Hotel, Vancouver”
Overall we quite enjoyed our stay here. The furniture was comfortable, and room and bathroom was spacious and comfortable with every amenity. Minor qualms in addition to the spotty effectiveness of the keycards include: the reception desk being located in lower lobby (not on street level) and the bathrobes were also kind of worn and not very soft. The "chinese breakfast" at Market was creative, although the dim sum portion we felt was both unauthentic and not very tasty. The congee was fine.
This is a really outstanding hotel from check-in to check-out. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms are large, modern and extremely comfortable. The whole place has the feel of a luxurious hotel.
It's expensive but a wonderful hotel. Room was wonderful. Happy hour at the lounge was great (service could have been better). Reception person was excellent. Breakfast was fabulous (thanks to server).
Lovely hotel and great service”
2-night stopover on the way to Whistler. We were here over Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. Pretty quiet time as I guess most people were with their families. The staff did a great job being cheery and welcoming. Although we found that all over Canada too so maybe it's something in their water! :-) Room was great, comfy and felt like a home away from home. Highly recommended.
Superb Loyalty Program”
The stay was great. Even though I booked through Agoda the hotel chain still counted my stay as a qualifying night for their elite program. The location is close to Robson St. where you can to shopping. Staff where friendly and have Asian hospitality.
