Best hotel and hospitality I've ever had in a long long time”
I don't need to say much about this hotel and the level of service you can expect from them but I was sincerely amazed by how they went above and beyond to make a stay a wonderful one. It was my friend and fellow traveler's birthday and upon check in, the front desk officer noticed that and said they would send a slice of complimentary cake over. They did just that and with fruits! Then prior to the stay, I booked a dinner for two at their Churrasco night. Food was lovely but what amazed me was during our meal, I received a message from a staff from the restaurant (Sophia if i recalled correctly) asking for my friend's name so that they can get the live band to sing her a birthday song and send her some birthday wishes, while they send over another complimentary cake! Their attention to detail is what blew me away and at that point, I knew I would definitely come back again in the future! Also, everyone was really nice and friendly. The breakfast spread was insanely good. Would definitely stay here longer in the future for a pampering getaway! thank you!

5 stars but not so comfortable stay”
stayed here for the kids water playground which is good. only thing is that the sound proof isn't that great. we received a connecting room but the next door with young children where the parents are totally ignorant by letting them make noise at wee hours and opening the connecting door and knock on ours..it lasted for hours until i called someone from the hotel to warn them... another issue is the hotel food sucks, we had buffet dinner and free breakfast, both sucks.. would expect a decent buffet for a 5 start hotel..

Lovely resort ”
- Stayed one night in the Kinabalu sea view room for 3 pax - Hotel is old but maintenance and renovation has been done, just that some systems such as TV and aircon and water heating needs to be upgraded for better experience - room is big, clean, and spacious - facilities and activities provided for guests are amazing. You can stay at the resort and play all the free activities lined up for guests - pool, gym, beach is fantastic - hotel buffet breakfast has a good spread - overall would be back here to stay longer again

One word, AWESOME! ”
From the moment we reached, we started to feel hospitality till the moment we checked out. For info, we booked the Horizon Club Room, so we have the privilege of enjoying the lounge services with superb services. Check-in & out, sea view room, island & water sports activity via STAR Marina, Horizon Lounge services, security, pool with lifeguards, activities for the kids, hotel pools & water activity, food, restaurant and all theirs staffs especially was just amazing. Their super king size bed was to die for. You will miss their bed when you left the room. We shall see you soon again!

Perfect vacation ”
The hotel service was perfect and the room was clean, neat & they had friendly staffs who was willing to assist with almost everything we needed. Buffet breakfast was fine but pretty repetitive on daily basis as we stayed for 4 days. It was tough to get food from foodpanda after 8.30pm so we tried the hotel in room service and it was pretty expensive and wasn’t tasty so I wouldn’t recommend the in house food.

We stayed in the Kinabalu Room with seaview this time. The view from our room was so stunning! The room was clean and neat. The staycation was fun because everything you wanted to do you can do it here - island visit, swimming, sliding the water slides and many more! Of course, we are planning to stay here again!

Live up to it's name”
1st visit to Kota Kinabalu and very happy to stay in Shangri-la. Bell boy were attentive and helpful from the day we arrive. Check in was a breeze too. Buffet breakfast were fabulous and spoilt for choice. Very surprise that the buffet dinner were as good and there is a 25% discount when I book early on the same day. I missed out pre-booking the body massage at a special price but Ms Gail managed to get the same price for us. Happy that they honored the offer price. Will definitely visit again. The room at Kinabalu wing that we stayed at is big but outdated. Hope the hotel gets a facelift soon.

Beautiful Hotel Landscaping”
I’m glad that I’ve chosen this hotel. They have plenty of games and activities available for family bonding. Im truly impressed! The hotel also has very huge and beautiful landscaping plus a private sunset beach. Hotel is clean and great services too. Only upset about the food, not so tasteful.

AN AMAZING STAY!”
We celebrated our 2nd year Anniversary here and it was great! The resort is ready to host big families and kids with many attraction on site. Food selection was amazing, we got the Horizon Lounge access as we stayed in a Horizon Club Room. Both room and F&B was top notch! Breakfast was to die for! An array of selections, endless options and just too good. Kudos to the whole team!

Excellent hotel with alot of facilities ”
My last stay here was years ago. Im very surprised that the hotel has been upgraded. They even have their own water park and mini golf course (a big plus for me). Staff are very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is the gym closed very early at 8pm.
