Wonderful pluses far outweigh a couple of minuses”
Let's get a couple of minuses out of the way first. Not all rooms at Shantalla Lodge B&B have en suite bathrooms, but some do. I started out in #5 on the top floor, which had a bathroom, but the Wi-fi signal wasn't too strong. Moira, the owner, accommodated the fact that I walk with a cane and moved me to #3 (first floor, or second for Americans) for the rest of my stay so that I didn't have to climb as many stairs. Wi-fi was excellent, but it was a shared bathroom. Finally, the bathroom window and #3's window need a bit of insulation, as they were a bit drafty/draughty. All that said, Moira and Keith are fantastic hosts, extremely helpful with getting anywhere you want to go in Dublin whether using taxis or (as I did) public transport. The place is super-clean, it's only a 10-minute bus ride from the airport on the #16 route (about 30 minutes from the city centre), and Moira makes an AWESOME Irish breakfast! Wonderful value for money. I highly recommend it and would stay with them again.
