Exceptional”
Hotel was really cute. Im not sure if it was because of new years eve but waiting for an empty elevator was pretty annoying. Room was clean. My favorite thing was the roof top go to the 16th floor and you can take the cutest pictures with the empire state behind you. They give you a $10 credit at their mini bar but a water is $9.80 so don’t expect to use that $10 on a few things. Lol overall a good experience

Feels homely and central location to famous NY sites”
Hotel feels homely, large room and big HD TV. Central location, near grand central and walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller, Bryant Park, Macy's.... and many good restaurants around! My wife and I have made fond memories of NY and a good stay here. Will be back!

Nice hotel, good location”
The hotel was nicely presented, good size rooms and staff very helpful throughout out stay. We found it a good location for us to walk most of the city, with a 10 minute walk to Grand Central Station when we needed to use the subway.

Not such a great deal ”
Room seemed reasonably priced until You factor in the >50% tax and resort fee. The “resort fee” gives you a $10 credit at the kiosk, which sells $5 small candy bars. Tried to check in at 3 and was told the room wasn’t ready (this was mid week). Room had stains on the chair and mold in the shower.

Excellent hotel close to Grand Central Station”
we stayed at the affinia shelburne for 5 nights at the end of october 2011. from beginning to end we only experienced excellence in comfort and customer service. the room was really large (new york is known for small rooms) i dont believe anyone could complain about the size of the rooms at the affinia shelburne. location - 3 blocks from grand central station. or 3 blocks from 33rd street station on the 6 line. great location for everything new york has to offer but you are still able to escape to the lovely murray hill area on lexington avenue to get away from the hustle and bustle. staff were wonderful from check in to check out. within our stay we thought we may have had problems with our airline carrier for our return journey ( industrial action) and may have had to extend our stay, we knew the hotel was fully booked however the front desk staff allayed any of our concerns and stated uncategorically that we would not be without a bed- this was even before we asked - they notified us as they had also received the update from our carrier. i tried 3 pillows on the menu and they were all wonderful. bed was enormous and furniture and fixtures extremely well cared for. all in all a 10/10 from us and we will be back.

Lovely time and great location”
stayed at the affinia for ten nights and was really pleased with my choice of hotel. i have stayed in a lot of hotels in new york but was on more of a budget given time of year and number of nights and was pleasantly surprised at how good of a find this was . we were upgraded to a one bedroom suite after originally booking a deluxe studio as the agoda website showed the incorrect picture. the hotel manager was very accommodating after realising the error and upgraded us without too much consideration. concierge was not that helpful with suggestions but always helped with reservations and very friendly. would definitely stay again.

Trendy, Quiet Neighborhood, Roomy, Nothing Fancy”
affinia shelburne is tucked away between times square and herald square (34th) in a pretty quiet, "natural new-yorker" neighborhood. it's close enough to most major trains but in the cold it's a trek. there service was polite but they don't go out of the way to help you so don't expect anything magical. we had a suite, expecting it to be with a living room space but just ended up getting a decently large room. the place is very clean but nothing screamed "outstanding!" comfortable stay.

The best price/quality with great service”
We lived several weeks at Shelburne and as experienced traveler I can say that this hotel is a gem with an "old school" service that hard to find these days - special thanks to Solomon and Ron. Hotel is great for families with kids, it has in en-suite kitchenette, self service laundry washer and dryer, and a great personnel .

Great Location - but small bathrooms”
Overall, our Hotels stay at the Affinia Shelburne was nice. The location is very convenient, and the room we had was a nice size, with separate lounge and a kitchenette. The staff were generally very nice and helpful with the exception of one lady (who obviously was having a bad day). The one complaint we did have was the layout of the bathroom, the way the toilet was positioned, meant that your knees were almost touching the wall in from of you (ok if you are short like myself), my husband is 6ft, 2inch ( and this made is life very difficult when it came to using the toilet). But overall, the stay was ok. Just a note on the Kitchenette, there are no cutlery , so if you do get take out, make sure you get some from the restaurant.

Great location, friendly staff”
A friend from work who is a frequent NYC traveller recommended the Shelburne, I'm glad he did. What I like about it is that while you're a short walk away from many of the sights, you're tucked away on a quiet street. The staff had a lot of good advice and were amusing. I'm trying to think of anything that could stand improving - the lightening in the room was fairly typical-hotel piss-poor. If I was there on business and used the room to work in, I would have struggled. A small desk lamp would improve this greatly.

Gooood hotel”
The location of the hotel is really great, you can travel to any part of manhattan easily because it's really close to the grand central and you can even walk to some midtown sites. I like it very much and maybe I'll come back sometime except it's a little expensive though. What I must recommend is that the bed is extremely soft and comfortable, the room size is definitely okay considering it's in the midtown. Free wifi in the lobby, but if you once log on the wifi you can still use it in the room for free.

Solid bet”
Very good quality for the price. Clean, very good location - convenient to Grand Central. Great location in Murray Hill, which is much quieter than other parts of midtown. Hotel itself was quiet and staff met my request for an interior room to avoid traffic noise.

Good hotel, room is great”
my friend and i stayed there for a night during april 2012. we traveled from dc to new york with triple bus. the bus stoped not far from the hotel. the hotel is in great location, closed to 5th ave where you can shop all day long. at night, walking to times square for some night colors is not that far. this hotel uses soap, shampoo, lotion from philosophy (nice). one draw back thing is that the hotel only provides paid tv programs & movies, no free programs.

Lovely hotel in a good location”
the deluxe suite provided ample room for the three of us and was super comfortable. location was good as close to grand central and a 5 min walk to nearest subway station. front desk staff were very attentive and the services staff in the basement where you could do laundry were very helpful. special mention to the concierge david who provided inside knowledge and advice on sightseeing and with a great sense of humour! the only downside for us was that there was no free wifi in our rooms as this was only available in the hotel lobby.
