Fantastic Hotel, great location to the airport”
this is really a fantastic place to stay. the room i stayed in had plush thick carpets, lovely huge flat screen tv, wi-fi, a lovely mini bar. the views from both ends of the hotel is really a plus point. it overlooks a lovely sail boat harbour and the sunset is to be mentioned. due to time i only spent the afternoon and night there. restaurants had fantastic menus and the service was really really good. i cannot begin to tell anyone how wonderful this hotel is. you would not make a mistake by booking your stay. the airport shuttle runs every 15 minutes, the staff are all helpful and the invoice and booking out of the hotel all automated and i received an email even before i boarded at the airport. fantastic all round!!!
Not a great choice”
This hotel is right by the airport so it's extremely loud in the rooms. It was difficult to sleep at night. Also the hotel is a bit older so there were a few issue with our bathroom shower and toilet. Our room was clean and large and the bed was comfortable. Hotel staff were all incredibly nice and attentive. But I wouldn't recommend this hotel unless you want to be near the airport. The only great thing was our magnificent view of the San Diego Marina and downtown. I loved the view but that's about it!
Nickeled and dimed”
Seven dollars for a bottle of water otherwise available at any convenience store for $1.25? $11.95 per day for wifi in the room? When one pays a substantial price for a room, one eventually tires of the very expensive add-ons that are often included at no extra charge at other establishments. One also wishes that the many embers of the middle-school volleyball team housed in the adjacent rooms would have slammed their doors a little more gently on exiting at 6:00AM. Otherwise, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!
Lovely hotel and service with a smile”
Overall a very pleasent stay. Used room service which was excellent. Bed and pillows were outstanding and confortable. Having a Starbucks in the lobby area is a good addition to the hotel. Really loved it
Nice Hotel But Many Individual Fees and Costs”
Pros: 5-minute walk to great Mexican and great seafood restaurants with beautiful views of downtown, $8 Lyft to Gaslamp District, free 1-hour paddleboard/pedal boats and 1-hour tennis with resort fees, nice outdoor pools and jacuzzi, beautiful views Cons: Mandatory resort fees, Club Lounge is not worth the price, no refrigerators unless requested, mini-bar might automatically charge you when a bottle is simply removed from the refrigerator
The staff was very friendly and provided accommodations upon early arrival. Had a small issue with booking but the customer service representative was friendly and provided helpful assistance in providing a room without a long wait. The services and amenities that are at the hotel were excellent. The gym, Starbucks, and sitting areas with fire pit were wonderful additions to my stay. The only negative aspect was that smell of cigarette smoke that happened to seep into my room which provided some discomfort to my allergies.
great hotel in a great location”
beautiful, updated hotel with reliable shuttle service to airport and sightseeing. highly recommend. we upgraded to club level and had wine and snacks at night and breakfast in the morning with a top floor view of the city.
Close to airport”
A little disappointing for a Sheraton. We reserved a room with two beds, but it was not available on our arrival. Another group beside us had the same issue. No toothbrushes or shower caps were in room. Nice bed but carpet was old and bathroom was small with no tub. Only mirror was in bathroom, so getting ready was slow. Restaurants were very expensive. Does not deserve five stars in my opinion.
Scenic view and strategic location”
awesome! The hotel is value for money and the stay was great...waking up to the breathtaking view everyday!
good value be aware of extra charges”
clean rooms. close to the airport. not really family friendly. watch out of resort surcharge
Beautiful location, welll-decorated room”
staffs are friendly. rooms are clean and well-decorated. the only thing we'd love to have is the refridgerator that allows us to store our juices (no sensor type).
great location with a great view”
very good value for money, all the staff(front desk, cafe, parking lot) were all friendly. Room was very clean with a nice view. Recommend to anyone.
Expected a lot better”
I would NOT stay there again. After having to park in their carpark (self parking) and having to walk a fair distance with all of our suitcases, I had to wait for one of the 2 staff to check us in. Not so much of an issue. The elevators then took about 5 min to arrive (the day we checked out they took 20 minutes!). We checked into our room which was interconnected (locked but still had the door) to a room with two very loud children. We could hear every word of the conversations from the adjoined room. The next day when we returned to our room at about 3.30pm, the housekeeper was cleaning. I walked into the room after having to move her trolley and she very rudely started moving me back toward the door asking where my key was. Ate in the restaurant downstairs. There was hair in my food. After the 2 night stay we went to checkout. I had to wait 15minutes to checkout because there was one staff member on for non-starwood-preferred guests. I then got a reciept for my stay. $13 for 2x mini bar items. I hadnt touched a thing in the mini bar. That was fixed. $22 a DAY for parking. IN THEIR CARPARK! AS A GUEST!! And when the gave us the key for the carpark NOONE mentioned it was $22 a day for parking. And we had to park on the dirt in the garden on the 2nd night because there was no room. I may as well have got the car valet parked for that price!! An absolute joke.
Value for money. Nice swimming pool.”
The room my family stayed was far away from main lobby. However it was value for money overall.
tell them to give you the airport side. you have never seen such a show expecially at night and especially if your a planespotter. THE FREAKING AIRPORT IS BUILT UNDER SEA LEVEL SO THE PLANES DISAPPEAR WHEN THEY LAND AND REAPPEAR UPON TAKE OFF. YOU'VE NEVER SEEN SOMETHING SO AMAZING IN YOUR LIFE.
Slightly disappointed ”
The only disappointing aspect of our stay was a $14.95 + tax resort fee that I was not aware of. This was a spoiling factor. Not the fee itself, but being told on arrival...... Made my partner upset and yes happpy wife, happy life !!!!
Tired rooms, average food”
Rooms were old and didn't smell nice - had oily/body odour-like smell after so many years. Limited food choices and the quality of cooking was not good for the relatively high prices charged. Lacking in in-room amenities and it was way too isolated from other amenities. However, the staff were polite and friendly.
Wonderful hotel and staff”
Competent, friendly staff , clean rooms and wonderful food.
After we agreed upon a rate and I paid in advance Sheraton added on a substantial “Resort” fee and charged me $35 a day for parking more than a quarter mile away in a dirt lot.
