"Front desk staff spoke great English which was imperative for us as we speak no Taiwanese, and we needed to find the Shilin NIght Market. We chose this hotel specifically to be close to the famous Shilin Night Market and the Metro. It was centrally located in the middle of normal city life and apartment homes. It is in a well kept vintage building. I felt like a local, and felt safe even at night. I enjoy feeling the true nature of a city, and this is the hotel for that. the room was quiet, comfortable, clean, but not large, however, the bathroom was large and had a great spa bathtub. It was perfect for a short one night stay in Taipei. Had we been staying longer, I may have considered another hotel with a slightly larger room. Breakfast was surprisingly good, which is always appreciated. It was well suited for an Asian diet or Western. Price was perfect, at only $93.00. Enjoy Taipei!"

"The other members of my party arrived without their luggage. The staff at the hotel communicated with the airline and arranged the delivery of the luggage the following day. I was very happy to see, upon entering the room, that the hotel provided so many toiletries; razor, toothbrush, hair brush and all the usual shampoo and soap. That was a huge help to my friends who had none of these things that first night in Taiwan. "

"We booked the standard room and felt the room was quite spacious. Bottled water was provided daily. Breakfast was included however we opted to sleep in instead (Latest breakfast session was 9.30am) 5 minute walk to Shilin station and Shilin Night Market. Family Mart Convience Store and Chang Hwa bank (don't accept Australian Currency unfortunately, try Bank of Taiwan instead, a further 10mins away) just down the road towards the station. Awesome Japanese Izakaya restaurant nearby the hotel towards JiHe Road. Very happy with our stay!"

"Modern and swish looking boutique hotel in the Shilin District! Friendly reception who checked me in in less than 5 min! Room was amazing ........ never had 4 TVs in my suite before, including one in the jacuzzi bathtub! And they had a wireless charger for my phone even! No shortage of charging points! Had one of those smart toilet bowls as well! Location is incredible with the night market 5 min away and the mrt just steps away from the hotel. This hotel is unique as it actually has a swimming pool! Not many boutique hotels can boast of one! Everything is nearby, convenience stores, small restaurants, at least two bakeries, a couple of local cafes and a Starbucks! The only tiny thing that kinda ruined it was that no one told me they’re doing heavy renovations right above my suite and it started bright and early at 8am. Oh well, guess it’s a sign from a higher power that I gotta make full use of my vacation in Taipei instead of sleeping in! But excellent hotel! Both thumbs up! "

"This apartment was conveniently located near Shilin Mrt, about 3 mins walk from the Exit to Fude road, look for the building “Joetsu” and the apartment was just behind after passing by a cosmic shop. Although the room was small for 2 persons, but the bed was clean & very comfortable to sleep on. Once reached, just use the telephone to contact the staff to open the door for you. Staff were very friendly and helpful. It was so convenient to walk to Shilin Night Market, Cixian Temple and Modern Toilet Restaurant (Wenlin Road) from this apartment. Also, it was easy to find 7-eleven, family mart, coffee shops and cafes too. Overall, it was value for money for a few days stay. "

"I stayed for the duration of 10 nights. For a business traveller, that is a long period of time. I had to get an extra room due to rooming issues, and the hotel staff wrecked their heads to find a room for me, eventually housing me with an extra room at 11pm. They display the true spirit of Taiwan - friendly, warm, geniune. If you will like the treatment of international hotels worthy of five stars, coupled with sincerity of locals, Tianmu Dandy is certainly the place to stay. They were always there to open the doors for you, to meet your needs of any, and more importantly took great pride in all they did. Do ask them to recommend some local places, that's where you know you got a bang-for-you-buck. The location is in a high-end residential district and the estate is very peaceful and serene, but not remote. Going towards Shilin Night Market is a breeze, with all buses (Kong Che) heading that direction. Likewise, going towards any Metro stop is a whisker away. The return journey, for me at least, is a collection of memorable cab rides costing less than 4USD. From the city, it is about 8USD, which is very affordable. I will be returning to Taipei in mid-2014, and I've already decided on Tianmu Dandy Hotel as my choice of rest."
