The hotel is conveniently located just a few minutes from the subway, with direct lines to the airport, Hongdae, and Myeongdong—making it a great base for exploring Seoul. While there are plenty of restaurants in the immediate area, we struggled to find any with English-speaking staff or menus, so we often had to travel elsewhere for meals. Our room was spacious, with both the bedroom and bathroom offering plenty of comfort. The shower was honestly one of the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. However, the room was quite warm (around 25°C), and since the AC couldn’t be turned on in April, we had to open the window for air. Unfortunately, the hotel is next to a busy road, so it was quite noisy. We ended up switching to a smaller but slightly cooler room. The reception staff, was very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast is served until 10 AM, but we noticed that by 9:40, staff had already started clearing the buffet. One staff member even refused—rather abruptly—to bring back syrup when we asked. Despite a few inconveniences, I’d still highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Seoul—especially for its excellent location and overall comfort.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. I was initially a bit apprehensive after reading several negative reviews about some rooms having no airconditioning but experienced none of that. The room I had was clean and comfortable and everything worked great. There's a convenience store in the building which I appreciated a lot. A short walk to the subway station made exploring the city easy to do. There is also a direct bus to the airport 150m or so from the hotel which turned out to be a lifesaver!

I recommend this hotel mostly because of it's location at Gongdeok station which covers Line 5, Line 6, the Airport Line (AREX) and the Gyeongui–Jungang Line which allows quick transport to major stations and popular stops like Hongdae, Yeouido and Itaewon while being out of the way of the city centre. The hotel is overall clean and comfortable, and the staff are responsive and accommodating but being a subsidiary of The Shilla I expected more attention to detail. I had a comfortable stay but I would not call it a "deluxe" experience. Admin/Staff: I booked the double deluxe room because I wanted the bathtub shown in the photos. However, when I arrived I found my room had no bathtub. Front desk explained there were 2 room types, one with a tub and one without, and my preference wasn't available for my whole stay. Unfortunately this wasn't specified on Agoda which I felt was misleading, but front desk staff immediately offered to change my room the next day so the issue was resolved in the morning. Staff also kept my bags for a full day after I checked out-- I've heard some hotels do not offer this service but I had no issues here. Room: The deluxe double room is quite spacious. There is enough floor space to fully open one large suitcase but you may struggle to open two. The partition which opens the bathroom to the rest of the room might have been nice if I had a view of Namsan Tower but my windows faced an office building so it felt a little exhibitionist. It was nice in the daytime to allow some natural light into the bathroom while I did my morning routine. There are also no lamps or small lights in the bathroom so if you want to watch TV or enjoy the view while you bathe you either have to sit in the dark or turn on a bigger light and make yourself more visible from outside and introduce glare to the windows. The toilet is electronic with a bidet function. Shower/tub is not fully enclosed so water will spray or splash onto the floor- make sure to use the bathmats so you don't step in a puddle after your shower. Amenities: Wifi connection was not the strongest but the speed was decent. One point that bothered me was that I could not cast/screen mirror my Android phone to the Samsung TV because it will only work with Samsung devices. The hotel is owned by Samsung so it makes sense they use Samsung TVs but I was quite annoyed that an amenity that I paid for was locked behind a walled-garden ecosystem. Watching Youtube or scrolling through Reels on my phone was not the way I wanted to relax at the end of a tiring day. It's a small annoyance but it made me feel they should consider the convenience of their guests first and foremost. Additionally it was a bit off-putting to find disposable paper cups in the bathroom- a hotel with the Shilla namesake can't afford to do some extra dishwashing and provide mugs to the deluxe rooms? Toothbrushes and toothpaste were also at additional cost which is done in an effort to reduce waste but really seems like a cost cutting measure. Cleanliness/Housekeeping: Room was cleaned and amenities like tea/coffee/soap/towels/slippers were refreshed everyday. The sheets are only changed after each 3rd(?) night which was fine by me, the bed was still made everyday. Bins were emptied everyday as well. The room was mostly clean but there were some areas which showed some age or needed more attention, such as scale on the bathroom fittings, mould in the caulking and unsightly stains on the lampshade. I didn't notice too much dust.

The service was quite good, and I found the front desk staff to be very nice and polite. The location was quite convenient, with a 7-11 on the ground floor. One of the nicer aspects was that an iron was provided in the room. The room size was perfectly adequate. However, I did notice that the facilities seemed a bit dated. Additionally, the room cleanliness could have been better - there were quite a lot hairs on the bathroom floor, and I spotted some dark spots on the towels upon arrival. The lighting and mirror setup in the room was not ideal for tasks like applying makeup. The lighting was a bit insufficient, and the placement of some of the electrical sockets, which were built into the walls, meant that my conversion plug did not fit properly. This made it difficult to use the bathroom mirror for styling my hair, and there was no other mirror in the room. Overall, the service and convenient location were positive aspects of my stay. But the condition of the facilities, the cleanliness of the room, and the lighting/mirror situation presented some challenges.

“Great value and location”
Honestly, the best location possible, in the middle of 2 train stations, on the culture street next to soo many good foods and the inn had an amazing facility with hot springs and late night soba. Only disappointment with this place is the beds were incredibly uncomfortable, we had to use extra blankets to cushion the beds and scramble to borrow extra pillows for extra cushion. The restroom is small but grateful that the shower/bath area is separate from the toilet and sink (no wet floors). The room was efficiently laid out to accommodate everything, definitely you can feel the quality despite the small space. Everything was thoughtfully built and planned out. Highly recommended place to stay for the value and quality, definitely had everything you could need. Service was great too.
