Good location, nice hotel”
Stayed for 6 nights. The triple bed room was small but I suppose being in Tokyo it was ok. Sunlight comes through blinds in the morning. The aircon was not cool enough but since it was spring and temperature was cooler, we did not have any problem with that. Facilities like vending machine and coin operated washing machine and dryer on level 2. It also has a lounge with free coffee on level 2. The staff knows basic english and they are all very nice like. It is within walking distance to Shinagawa train station. Enjoyed our stay there. Overall, good value for money.
Modern and comfortable”
The hotel is a no frills hotel, but modern and clean. We had a twin room on the 7th floor, large window, light and airy. Fridge, kettle and green tea. Lighting was very functional and ample, bathroom was equipped with the normal bathroom requisites and hair dryer, plus shavers. Laundry 500yen for wash and dry combination with powder on second floor as were vending machines and guests' lounge. Max 10minute slow walk from train station from west gate, though has a slight climb. Access to many restaurants, including an Outback Aussie Bar just 3minutes walk (worth a look even for the memorabilia and happy hour from 5pm to 7pm and awesome nachos). Great restaurants just down from the 7/11 outside West Gate of train station. Also bus tickets to airport were arranged at hotel across the road, The Grand Prince Takamana New. Our stay was comfortable in a quiet environment and friendly hotel attendants, though little English, happy to assist and safe care of luggage for a few hours,
Comfortable n modern”
Checkin a breeze. We stayed in a room on the 7th floor. Room was exceptionally clean, functional n comfortable with twin beds and large window making room airy and bright. Beds n pillows comfy n had a quiet 3 nights sleep. Aircond quiet. Lighting was expansive with individual reading lights. Green tea avail with kettle. TV CNN only in English language, extra channels could be purchased for 1200yen per day. Bathroom equipped with usual requisites. Guest laundry avail. 500yen wash n dry combination. Coffee lounge avail for guests, 2nd floor. Max 10min walk from West exit, gradual slope uphill. Many choice of restaurants nearby, we found good value traditional food restaurants near rail station 7/11. Staff friendly but Japanese language only, no probs. Arranged Narita Airport transfer (3600yen pp one way, 1hr 25mins) at Grand Prince Hotel Takayama New which is across road.
small room but nice service ”
its a short but uphill walk from the shinagawa station - so if you got lots of luggage and doesn't want to call a cab - just beware - rooms are small - but the view I got was nice looking down the street - lots of restaurant options around the block -
Best hotel ever ”
Front desk staffs are friendly with good smile. Quick respond and very kind. we have to check out and check in after 3 days. Hotel allow us to keep big suitcase at hotel until the date we check in. there are vending machine and Lounge at second floor with free coffee and tea.
Travellers looking to stay here should note that you’ll have to walk up a long steep slope across a significant distance from the train station to the hotel. Other than that, hotel gives 2 water bottles everyday after cleaning. Reception was friendly, checking in and out was hassle free.
Good location with nice room”
Just enough for one person. Will be a little small if there are two people with luggages in the room. Other than that it’s a nice and comfortable room. Staff is helpful and location is strategic.
The Hotel is about 10 mins away from the station. If you have your baggage with you, it might be a difficult to pull for the slop road. We book 4 Single bed with 2adult and 2 kids with is comfortable for us which value the money.
Convenient hotel near train station”
Tobu Shinagawa is a nice modest, no frills hotel. It is up the hill from the Shinagawa train station along other hotels like the Grand Prince and Keikyu. It was a perfect landing spot for a couple days in Tokyo for our itinerary. It was convenient to the Narita and Haneda airport via Keikyu line or limousine bus. The limo bus doesn’t stop here but across the street at the Grand Prince. Not a big deal for the price and convenience unless you have a lot of luggage. Free coffee in the 2nd floor lounge with paid washing machines and vending, with bottles of water. Beds were comfy and room was clean. You have to give your room key every time you leave as it’s still a key system.
This hotel is a great location close to Train station, the only thing is, its uphill. We have 4 twin beds. When its hot/humid and toting luggage, its a hard climb up. Next time, I'd hail a cab. Otherwise, the check-in desk was fast and efficient, rooms were big enough for all four of us. Air conditioning was great. Hotel provided all the amenities. I'd recommend it.
The hotel is conveniently located within a 10 mins’ walk (disclaimer: you will have to walk uphill but it’s a gentle upward slope) opposite shinagawa hotel. Everything else is satisfactory, except that you will have to walk uphill back every night. However, when u are pulling your heavy bags at the end of the stay, the way back is downward slope which is a plus point. I’ll want to stay at said hotel again.
10-minute walk up the hill ”
This hotel is in a nice quiet area, away from the bustle of the train station area. Nice and comfortable place with friendly, helpful staff. A 7-eleven is across the street in the B1 level of the New Takanawa Grand Prince Hotel.
Comfy bed n room”
Shinagawa Tobu stayed 4 nits, triple bed in room very comfortable. Clean n bright. Facilities was good laundry n vending machines with lounge area with free machine coffee area to chill. Front desk was always ready to greet n assist. Only simple English was able to converse somehow, but is not a big issue cause they managed to assist n fullfil my inquires. Though location is good but the only cons abt this hotel is a slope which will be a problem if pushing yr luggage uphill . Making yr way each day up n down to the station ,can be quite tiring especially if u have not so strong legs. The good news, that the next door hotel will except reservation by airport limousine bus. Which is across the street only. To us that was the highlight for convenience for departure. Where the lugg is the most heavierest at the end of all holidays n trips.
As expected and more ”
First off, the room was indeed small. But we know that when we made our reservation so I don’t think it should affect my review. To say that we were expecting a really cramped room might even be an understatement. But the room was laid out efficiently and they were able to maximize the small space. One way they were able to do this is by not having a closet. What they have was a space enough to hang four items. Bringing in a couple of really big bags might be problematic but as we were expecting this already, we only brought a couple of small bags. Our other bags were sent already to our next hotel in Osaka via luggage forwarding service. The hotel have vending machines in the 2nd floor which is good for satisfying late night cravings. They also have a microwave oven there which is useful if you are taking out meals from convenience stores nearby. They have two coin-operated laundromats in the same room, neatly tucked in a corner. The vending+laundry room is open 24 hours (tried it at 3am). Opposite the room is a lounge where you can have your (free) coffee fix. The lounge is only open until 12 midnight though. The location is okay as it is about 300 meters away from the Wing (mall?) where a numbet of shops and restaurants can be found. There are also food choices in Shinagawa station which is just opposite Wing. The only downside of the location really is that it is 300+ meters of uphill walk from the station. Quite a handful for someone with a back and knee problems. Customer service is fantastic! We breezed through check-in and the front desk was really helpful explaining to us the check-in procedures (in English). Speaking of being helpful how about this. I went down to the reception after check-in to borrow an iron and to tell them that the bidet was not working. The guy in the reception told me that he would go to our room with the iron and to check the toilet. I have been in a lot of hotels and normally they would tell you that they will call housekeeping
Nice Hotel in a quaint corner of Shinagawa”
Stayed for 2 nights at Shinagawa Tobu Hotel and I must say it's a pleasant surprise that the stay was so comfortable and the location was extremely convenient. Firstly, getting to the hotel from Haneda airport was a breeze which takes about 20mins by Keikyu line to Shinagawa station. From there it's about a 10mins walk to the hotel. Hotel is clean and the room is equipped with all the necessities one needs. I will return to stay for my next Tokyo trip.
Maybe like most hotel in Japan, the room was quite small. There were three of us and it was not really easy to open up our luggages :) The staffs are friendly. About 200 meters to train station. Room was clean, really like the shampoo :D
Cozy and Clean”
I was there alone. I was very concern about the room. I don't care much about the size as we knew Japan doesn't have a lot of space but I do care the cleaning room which I would like to say it is very clean. the location is also ok. it doesn't connect or just next to the subway station but it takes about 10 mins by walking which is ok for me. There is a department store next to the station and that subway line you can also take a Shinkensan which is very convenient for a tourist who will travel to another city. I like the bathroom a lot. All the toiletries are there also a small bath :) It's also safe so if you are a solo traveler but u don't want to stay at the hotel i think this hotel could be one of your choice.
Lack of english speaking staff”
adequate room space. clean. reception is poor because can't speak english, disappointment for me. and not friendly enough for me, the way they speak & the tone they use. but hey, it's my personal experience, they are not to be generalized.
Good location budget hotel ”
Small room, close to Shinagawa station, good for one night to before departure or after arrival
Value for money, spacious room. Hardly can find a hotel in Tokyo that can sleep 4 in a room”
Highly recommend for family travel. Big room and toilet. Super location. Near Shinagawa station and easy to move around
