Kind Service!”
The 3 best things about this service was the kind service,
Our stay was pleasant. The people were really kind and helpful. It's not the best place in the world, but it is good for the price!

Overall poor experience”
Location was wonderful
Awful. The room was dirty, dusty, and caused me to get sick. The location was great but much better to go on your own and go to one of the many surrounding hotels that are cheap and have wifi. The staff improved the checkin time that previous reviews mentioned (took me 5 minutes in total).

Great location in hutongs near Tiananmen”
location, hutongs, amenities
Location is the best thing about this place. Just go wandering around the hutongs. Beds are hard and too short (I am 184 cm tall). Don't rent their bikes, as these are overpriced (50 RMB/day) and not in the best condition. For bike rent go to Nr. 76 West Dazhalan Street and get one for 20 RMB. Staff friendly, but sometimes slow. Housekeeping knocked at our door at midnight once asking if we want her to mop our floor. Unless you're on a really tight budget, opt for a larger (Standard) room upstairs instead of the budget ones on the ground floor, as these seemed a little depressing.

disappointing”
Sorry... no best 3 things
I arrived 3 in the afternoon, there were no other guests at the desk. It took until 4.30 before I was finally checked in. It was totally impossible to make clear to the staff (I speak Chinese) that I live in Shenzhen and entered the country from Hong Kong, not from Beijing. An associate from Beijing visited me and was not allowed to enter the hotel without checking in a room first; the hotel has no facilities at all. My children were arriving the next morning, and it was impossible to check them in without me having to go through ALL the questions again, that I had already answered the day before to the same people. At one point the local policeman was called to check my passport. My sons' girlfriend was not allowed to stay in the same room as my son (both are over 18 y/o). Oh yeah... My room had a window opening to a blind wall. The hotel itself is inside a hutong area. Characteristic, but if you carry some luggage you might want to choose another hotel, because you'll have to drag it over a rather uneven path for quite some distance. My advice: choose another hotel. In other words: near to the worst hotel experience of my life.

City Central,near subway station+shopping area”
Quiet area, blend with traditional housing, high security with RFID entrance to hotel.
Right place for sleeping only, because most of the time spent outside. Minimum amenities, bring your own tootbrush and toothpaste. Towel provided. Shower with hot+cold water, no bathtub. Drinking water dispenser (hot+cold) free at lobby. 3-4 floors with no lift. Ask them to give you rooms on Grd Floor or 1st Floor to save your energy. Staff can't speak English, use your smartphone google translate or Language Voice Translator.

A bit disappointed”
residential area, traditional housing and surroundings
I thought I could have a nice experience in living in a traditional Chinese garden when I saw the pic that the hotel provided on the net; however, the room I stayed was on the other side and pretty common. The neighborhood was not even very clean.

Common hotel deep in the hutong”
the picture is misleading. It is a very Chinese hotel
Staff is friendly, but very slow. They speak no english whatsoever. The hotel is very strict, they even asked a guest to show them the content of his suitcase. In my case it took them forever to find out that I was actually inside China - my passport shows an exit and entry stamp of the same day (I live near HK). Checking me in took over 1 hour. The place is very common; it's the second hotel (after 7 days inn) that doesn't have toothbrush and -paste (you have to buy that) or a bottle of complimentary water. Big downside: The hotel is in the middle of a hutong. Seems romantic - but only the first walk, when you haven't been in a hutong before. After that, having to drag your luggage for about a km over wobbly concrete roads is a pita. Also the address on their cards is in such a small typeface that only the youngest of taxidrivers can read it - but then they don't know where it is... And if you walk the wrong way, you end up in a walking street with no taxis. (Qian men da jie) I wouldn't recommend this hotel. Or as matter of fact any hotel inside a hutong.
