Did you find this review summary helpful?
I highly recommend this location as it sits right on the night life of shinjuku. The best part is being allocated right above an Irish Pub, so if you don't wish to travel far, just head on to the second floor for some good food, drinks and great vibes 🤙🏽 make sure you bring your own flip-flops 🙏🏼 you leave your shoes right by the entrance in a locker so unless you don't mind walking around barefoot, bring some indoor slippers or sandals to walk around in and to use the showers in. For cleanliness it was incredible, and you also constantly see staff walking around and ensuring the place stays sanitized and in great condition. Location is amazing, as I have said earlier, because the best of places remain within walking distance like Kabukicho. and you can catch the train with ease if need be. Also this location IS tattoo friendly so no worries on what kind of ink you got 🫰🏽
Thank you very much for visiting our hotel. All of our employees will continue to make every effort to satisfy a variety of guests. We look forward to serving you again.
Honestly it was a good experience. Biggest issue was Nigerians out front bugging you. After 8 or 9 at night they start asking you if you want to go to a ti**y bar and then try to scam you for money to take you there which was uncomfortable to say the least. However, the staff were all wonderful, it has a sauna and a public bath which was Fantastic. I would not recommend families with kids only because it's very small inside and you wouldn't want to have a hard time getting them to take off there shoes before entering and running into the men's or women's baths. But for a group of guys or ladies trying to save a little money but feel relaxed, and be in the heart of tokyo/shibuya/shinjuku this is the spot. I'd give it a 7/10 only because the beds were a little rough sleeping in as a big guy but it has tv and charging station in each capsule and the public bath was nice just don't stare at the yakuza and your good. Plus everyone respects your space and no one judges you. (Which is great since like I said I'm a big guy so I was a little self conscious but it was a fun experience.
Thank you very much for using Shinjuku Kuyakusho Mae Capsule Hotel. We appreciate your valuable feedback. We will continue to strive to provide a comfortable space for everyone. We look forward to seeing you again. Shinjuku Kuyakusho Mae Capsule Hotel
It is a very good place to stay because of its location, price, and facilities. Only that the noise is not that quiet enough (female 8th floor) because people come and go all the time. They open and close the door the whole night. There are places for people to put their luggages, but they don't because they just put them in front of their capsules or in front of someone's else's capsules. Then they come and open to get their things and return regardless what time it was. Those who come in groups tend to talk to each other in the middle of the night. The assignment of the bed doesn't make sense also as they put people in the same area while the other areas are empty. Then problem of noises arise. We disturb each other. Above all, the facilities are very good. They provide you pajamas, towel, shampoo, conditioner, bath soap, facial wash, lotion, and hair serum. Hair dryers are provided, too. Everything is very clean.
Thank you very much for visiting our hotel. Due to the structure of the 8th floor capsule entrance area, it is easy for noise to be generated. We will create educational posters and other materials to improve usage manners and create a comfortable space for our guests. All of our employees will continue to make every effort to satisfy our various customers. We look forward to serving you again.
Five male friends stayed for 3 nights and 4 days. Usage method: On the 3rd floor, there is a shoe rack, check-in counter, and lockers, leading to a bathhouse. Upon entering, you first store your shoes in the shoe rack and take the key to the counter to check in. The staff will take the shoe rack key and give you the locker key. You can pick up towels and pajamas (jinbei) from the locker and use the bathhouse. The luggage could not fit in the locker, so it had to be stored in a storage room next to the lounge on the 4th floor. Capsules are located on the 4th, 6th, 7th, and 8th floors, with movement possible between the 3rd and 4th floors via stairs and elevator, while access to the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors requires the elevator. You can walk barefoot from the counter to the capsule, which is nice for mobility. However, this might be a downside for those sensitive about hygiene; if you dislike walking barefoot, you can buy disposable slippers for 100 yen at the counter (there is also a 50 yen disposable razor available). Bathhouse: There are toothbrushes with toothpaste, bath towels, shampoo and body wash with conditioner included, and face and hand wash provided. It has about 10 showerheads and feels like a small bathhouse with hot, medium, and cold baths. It is available 24 hours excluding checkout time, which is great. Capsule: The height is fine, but the length is short. I am 174 cm tall, and my feet touched the entrance. Taller individuals may find it uncomfortable, and it could be a bit hot in summer. Everyone is generally quiet in the capsule area, but you might hear snoring or shuffling sounds. I was too tired to care and slept well, but it could be uncomfortable for light sleepers. However, notifications will sound at least once in the early morning, and while the soundproofing is decent, it can be slightly bothersome. There are reviews mentioning that noise can come from the karaoke room on the 5th floor, but I did not hear anything on the 7th floor. It might be worth asking at check-in if you can switch floors if you are assigned a capsule on the 4th floor. Lounge: There are many seats, creating a pleasant atmosphere to chat with friends. There is a TV, comic books, and vending machines for ramen and drinks, as well as hot water and chopsticks available for a simple meal. You are also allowed to bring and eat outside food. However, there is a smoking room attached to the lounge, which can let in cigarette odors. Service: The staff is very friendly and can communicate in both English and Japanese. Communication was not a problem thanks to the use of Papago. Since luggage must be collectively stored in the storage room on the 4th floor, personal belongings should be kept carefully, but there are CCTV cameras, and the atmosphere does not suggest that someone would steal anything. Even for consecutive nights, checkout is required before 10 AM, and check-in after 2 PM is mandatory, but it isn't a significant inconvenience if you have travel plans starting early in the day. You might have to go back and forth between the 4th and 3rd floors to organize your things before leaving, but it wasn’t too hard once I got used to it. There is no specific time limit for check-in; staff is available 24 hours. Cleaning takes place during your time out, so the hygiene of the capsule is good, with no odors. However, the restroom on the 4th floor has a strong urine odor, so using the restroom on the 3rd floor or capsule floor is recommended. The restrooms on other floors are very clean. You can leave your suitcase in the storage room on the 4th floor for consecutive nights, but you must take all your belongings when checking out at the end. If you requested breakfast, you will receive a ticket at checkout that allows you to eat on the 2nd floor. Location: It is within walking distance of Shinjuku Station and located within the Shinjuku entertainment district, making it good for sightseeing near Shinjuku. However, since it is in the entertainment district, do not give attention to foreign workers or any prostitution. Also, avoid entering free information centers as they can lead you astray. There are many clubs and bars nearby, making it great for vibrant nightlife. Summary: Recommended for those who are okay with casual environments, not recommended for those sensitive about hygiene and privacy. Once you get used to it, it offers a pretty good system, a very good location, and great value for money. It has a warm atmosphere with a human touch. I would consider using it again.

“The location is good.”
The location was good, but the accommodation was not. I stayed for three nights and four days from May 23 to 26. First of all, the location is really good. If you go out through the East Exit of Shinjuku and walk towards Kabukicho for about 10 minutes, you arrive quickly. A price of 50,000 won per night at such a great location is appealing, but everything else was quite ambiguous. 1. Facilities Overall, the facilities were old. This was the worst capsule hotel I've ever stayed at in terms of facilities. The lack of air conditioning inside the capsule is very critical. Once I lowered the curtain, it got a bit warm inside, which was uncomfortable. If you're someone who feels hot easily, keep this in mind. Also, in every other capsule hotel I’ve used, there were rings to secure the curtain once lowered, but there were none here. Just lightly touching it would make it open, and twice I woke up to find the curtain was open. In the common area on the 4th floor, you can eat snacks and read comic books. It feels like a sauna, but the smell of cigarette smoke is strong from the smoking room in the shared space. 2. Inconvenience Every time you go out, you have to go down from the 8th floor (women’s) to the 3rd floor lobby to receive the exit card and shoe cabinet key, change shoes in the shoe cabinet, and then take the elevator down from the 3rd floor to the 1st floor. This process is very inconvenient. Especially during peak times, the wait for the elevator takes a really long time. There’s a cleaning time, so from 11 AM to 3 PM, you must vacate the capsule even if you are staying multiple nights; the same applies even if you are on a consecutive stay. 3. Cleanliness As soon as I entered the capsule on the first day, I found hair. And when I touched the upper part of the capsule, there seemed to be dirt that hadn’t been cleaned for a long time. There is a TV attached to the ceiling that is annoying every time you enter. Although it turns on and the channels change, the signal keeps cutting out, making it impossible to watch. However, since I had no intention of watching TV, this wasn’t a major issue. 4. Safety As Kabukicho is always crowded, I think there will be no problems if you stick to the main roads. That said, it's better to be cautious. Drunk people are everywhere on the streets, and at night, you can often witness hosts soliciting customers. Also, on the second night, two extremely drunk Japanese men were lying on the ground in front of the hotel entrance, leaving vomit stains, causing everyone to take a long detour to enter the hotel... By the next morning, it was cleared up, but it left a bad feeling. 5. Amenities Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleansing water/oil, toothbrush, etc., are all provided, and towels and pajamas are available in the locker on the first day. For consecutive nights, starting from the second day, you can request new towels and pajamas from the lobby on the 3rd floor. Since the toothbrush comes with toothpaste, I thought I wouldn’t need to bring any after reading reviews, but upon using it, I found that the toothpaste taste was barely there, so I had to buy separate toothpaste at Daiso. Overall Review First of all, I think the location has a significant advantage. But aside from that, I’m not sure. While 50,000 won for a capsule is cheap, if there are more than two people, it’s definitely better to go for a regular hotel. The place is maintained, but the overall facilities are quite outdated, and it’s hard to give a good score in terms of hygiene. Moreover, being in Kabukicho could be a double-edged sword. Especially, the 4th, 6th, and 7th floors are all male floors, and while men can use the public bath, there is only the 8th floor for women and no public bath, with only five shower booths in total. I advise women who may find this environment uncomfortable to take note. While it did have pricing and location benefits, if there are other options available, I don’t think I would choose this accommodation.
Dear customer thank you for the valuable review and Thank you very much for staying with us. we are extremely apologized about your inconvenient and we are definitely considering about your valuable review thank you We look forward to serving you again. Capsule Hotel in front of Shinjuku City Office
