A memorable stay at Shinjuku”
My daughter and I checked into Shinjuku Prince Hotel on 7-9 May 09. The reason for choosing Shinjuku Prince was because the proevious guest house that we stayed at Hatagaya was cramped and uncomfortable. We choose Shinjuku Prince also partly because it was recommended by our friend who had stayed at the hotel. Upon check in the receptionist was very courteous and helpful. The procedure was swift and we got our room within seconds. As we stepped into the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful layout and design. Though it was rather small in term of size (semi Twin Room), it was compensated by its beautiful layout and design. The room is certainly very comfortable and we enjoyed it. It has all the amenities you needed in a hotel setting except a boiler where you could make yourself a cup of tea or coffee. Other than this we absolutely have no complaint of the room. As Shinjuku Prince is located in the heart of Shinjuku and the railways and subway station, it makes travelling around Shinjuku and beyond a breeze. We enjoyed the shopping and dinning around Shinjuku and there are certainly plenty of restaurants and shopping that one could keep him or herself occupied. Overall we certainly had a lovely and beautiful stay at Shinjuku and enjoyed our holidays in Japan. It is absolutely memorable!
Great Value for Money, go for the larger room!”
Shinjuku is an amazing place and the opportunity to stay at the heart of one of the most famous areas could not go overlooked. Next to the more famous Shinjuku Granvia(?), the Shinjuku Prince Hotel is classy on a budget. The Location is unmatched, in the heart of Shinjuku, there are stores around it to cater to your needs and a duty free shop literally down the road for all your amenities.. The hotel itself was is very stylish and modern, with the room being small and typical for Tokyo. The bed was comfortable, however the pillows were the weird beaded ones that many hotels use for some reason. Generally you would like a little more room, however we made do. The showering facilities were cramped in the room, however the hotel had it's own private bathhouse (however we did not use it). Ice was located on other floors, which was good to have for the end of day drinks. Essentially - this is a great option if you get this on sale! Location is second to none.
Shinjuku Prince Hotel: Great Stay in Tokyo”
Given the sheer size of Tokyo the close proximity of the Shinjuku Prince Hotel to the Shinjuku JR and Metro station was a true blessing. Upon exiting the station the hotel was quite easy to locate and probably fewer than 1,500 feet away. Check in moved swiftly, even though the lobby was quite busy, due to the fact that the hotel had plenty of staff on hand, were quite efficient, and spoke great English. One small mishap did occur. After check in I made my way to my room and upon entering immediately knew I had been assigned a smoking room. Since I specifically requested non-smoking, I turned and headed back down to the reception desk. As it turns out, the staff who checked me in was training and missed the non-smoking request on my Agoda reservation. A new room was assigned without hesitation and with apologies. My room was booked and classified as a semi-double. Though small, the room provided plenty of space for two adults to live comfortably for four nights. The views out onto the city were spectacular, the room very clean and quiet, aside from the occasional train leaving Shinjuku station, and all of the equipment (television, alarm clock, lights, AC, bathroom, etc.) in working order. Room service kept everything top-notch throughout my stay. With two restaurants and a bar, laundry service, fee-for-service internet, and a small shop, the hotel really provided for any needed necessities. (As a brief side note, while I was there I noted an offer where one could receive a 500 Yen credit in the shops and restaurants if you skipped having room service clean the room. I didn't partake but an interesting option, I think.)
Prince Hotel Shinjuku November 2008”
We arrived at 8pm on a rainy night after a long and tiring journey from the USA. It was wonderful to leave our bags with the Bell Captain just near the hotel entrance and after checking in with the courteous and helpful front desk have the bags delivered promptly to our room. We then made a brief walk around Shinjuku and got something to eat, before thankfully climbing into the comfortable bed for a deep sleep. Over the next two and a half days of sightseeing in Tokyo we really came to appreciate the easy access to the railway and subway from the hotel and also its proximity to the very lively nightlife which Shinjuku is famous for. We then went to Kyoto for a business meeting but needed an extra night reservation for our final night in Tokyo on our way back. The staff were very helpful in arranging this extra reservation at the Prince hotel and we were very satisfied to return there for our final night in Japan. Well done to all concerned!
Excellent Service”
My wife and I were blown away by the helpfulness and hospitality shown by the Shinjuku Prince Hotel staff. They went beyond their duties to make sure we had the best honeymoon in Tokyo. The staff all were friendly, approachable, and spoke great English. The rooms were small, but that was expected with the price. The location is great for getting around the city and is near some awesome restaurants. I highly recommend the Shinjuku Prince Hotel and would definitely stay their again.
Perfect location ”
Our stay at Shinjuku Prince Hotel made our Tokyo vacation memorable and good one. The hotel has very friendly, accommodating and respectful staff. They speak good English and are very helpful in giving advice how to go around Tokyo and going to Disney. The hotel is centrally located. Its near the train station. It has 711 and Mc Donalds in front, especially that we have small children with us. Japanese restaurants are just across, with authentic tempura which my son is craving for and sushi and ramen for us adults. Shopping mall and stalls around. Its the perfect place to stay in Shinjuku Tokyo.
great value and position highly recommend”
Would highly recommend the Shinjuku Prince Hotel. Friendly staff, internet connection, close to Shinjuku train and metro station to get you around Tokyo. Great shopping to be had by all from department stores to btq shops. Amazing varity of resturants, from small bar to upmarket modern places. It has it all and this is just the beginning of your stay as you venture out into Tokyo. I will alway stay at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel.
Shinjuku Prince Hotel”
Over the last six months, I have stayed at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel two times, and once in the Tokyo Inn in Shinjuku, The Prince Hotel is by far more luxurious, which I like, and the availability of larger rooms are Important to me, I will deffinately stay at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel again on my return in March. Oh yea and there Breakfast buffett is absolutely wonderfull as well as the staff the handles it.
Our child stayed for free, Great location, Great service”
First , what's great is that our 8 year old daughter got to stay with us for free when most other hotels will not allow it. Saved us Train some of our budget. Second, Prince hotel is in a great location. It's a walk away from the Shinjuku train station. 7-11 covenience stores , a Mcdonalds, many great restaurants are just outside and across the hotel. One of the reason we stayed there also is that it's Klook's Disneyland and Disney Sea's pick up bus meet up. It was really a convenience waking up in the morning and not worry about getting somewhere else to get to Disney. Lastly, my wife rashly left her dentures in the toilet of the room we stayed. We realized it only when we were about to board our return flight home. We called and informed the hotel housekeeping and they promptly looked for it, kept it for us, and even mailed it to our family friend there in Tokyo. Overall, it was a really great stay!
Great place to explore Shinjuku and all Tokyo ”
Lovely staff and steps from the neon energy of Shinjuku. Easy to find 400m from the east exit of Shinjuku station which gives you direct access to the superb rail network of Tokyo. Couldn't get the Wi-Fi working in the Prince hotels (Shinagawa also) though no problem elsewhere. Luggage storage for a couple of days and then transfer to Kyoto easy. Stayed here in 2015 and 2019. Book early for best deals. We got a free upgrade too.
Thank you very much for choosing to stay at Shinjuku Prince Hotel. The sincerity of your feedback is appreciated. I was honored to hear about your satisfaction with the hotel location and staff. With regards to the WiFi, I would like to sincerely apologize for the trouble it has caused. We will share your feedback with the relevant departments, and work harder to improve our services in the future. All of us at Shinjuku Prince Hotel earnestly await your next stay. Shinjuku Prince Hotel
Great stay!”
I originally booked our stay at Shinjuku Prince Hotel because of the high reviews it received and we were not disappointed. The room was spacious, very comfortable, great view of the city, perfect location for shopping, short walk to various train stations. The staff were very friendly, they could speak english which made it very easy for us. We would definately stay at Shinjuku Prince Hotel again - thanks!!
Excellent Value!”
I was traveling to Japan on short notice. As I was looking for options for hotels at a reasonable price I found the Prince Hotel. Location: Excellent. It is a short walk from the Shinjuku train station at less than 10 minutes. This includes waiting at crosswalks so it is really close. It is very close to multiple convenient stores and many places to shop and eat. Price: Can't beat the price on short notice and well worth it! Staff: Very polite and friendly. No complaints at all. You are greeted at the 1st floor entrance and in the reception on B1. Everyone was really nice and friendly. I had no troubles checking in a little early and always answered my questions. Room: The room is small but comfortable. I had one large luggage and a small hand carry. It was just enough space for me. For two people it would be a little tight. The bathroom was clean and had everything I needed. The water pressure, and temperature was great!
First time in Tokyo”
the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful when i checked in. the room was small but nice, it had robes and slippers, tea/coffee, cable tv, alarm clock, etc. if you are looking for a great location at reasonable price i would highly recommend shinjuku prince. not having any other experience in tokyo hotels to compare this to it was a really great first impression. i would certainly look at staying here again the next time i go to tokyo.
Best location and really convenient to travel around Tokyo”
Location is best in Tokyo since it is above the station. Based in Shinjuku area and hence traveling is convenient. Professional staff service and cleanliness is great. About 10 minutes - 15 minutes walk to a coin laundry shop if you want to wash on your own. (Washing and drying takes about an hour) Bring your own detergent to wash the clothes at the coin laundry shop. There's Can Do (100 yen shop), a beauty/cosmetic shop (Tokyu Hands/ Tokyo Be), Muji and GU in the department store below Prince hotel. Therefore, you do not need to travel out to buy from these shops(Super Convenient).
Pleasant and will definitely go back there”
Shinjuku Prince Hotel is as expected up to standard and very comfortable to live in. They have another branch in Shinagawa. For those who are looking to stay in Prince, i would say each branch has its own pros and cons. Shinjuku Prince Hotel has more activites around it, it has LUMINE EAST which is the biggest subway mall in Tokyo. So much shopping and restaurants around Shinjuku. However, it is not as close to the JR train station as Shinagawa Prince Hotel is. So there's a lot of walking to do when you stay in Shinjuku Prince Hotel. Especially if you plan to go to other cities like Kyoto or Osaka and need to take the shinkansen, Shinjuku Prince Hotel is not as convenient as Shinagawa since it's not the main interchange station. Other than that, i would highly recommend the Prince Hotels as they almost always ensure a comfortable and lovely stay.
Right in the heart of the action!”
The Shinjuku Prince Hotel is situated an easy 10 minute walk from the limousine bus stop at Shinjuku Station, to go to the airport (3,000 yen). It's also well placed for every kind of restaurant you can imagine and lots of bars and clubs. It's a very lively, well lit place at night and safe to walk around if you avoid the dark alleys. Facilities in the hotel are good, including restaurants. The bedroom is compact, but sufficient. They provided a hammer in the room for breaking the window in the event of fire. I was on the 20th floor! Some option! Next time I am in Japan I will have one night in Shinjuku again and probably stay in the same hotel. t's a nice way to end an exhausting business trip before returning home. I think they call it R&R!
Location is great”
I enjoyed my stay due most in part to the friendly staff of the hotel. Always smiling and greeting you as soon as you walk in the door. The staff members are ready to assist you with anything you need. The hotel also made for a great stay because it is situated in the lively Kabuki-cho area of Shinjuku. Many restaurants of all varieties surround the hotel so you will never go hungry. The JR Shinjuku train station is about a 3-5minute walk from the hotel using the EAST EXIT. The JR Shinjuku station makes touring Tokyo very easy because there are multiple lines coming through this station. The most common line is the JR YAMANOTE line. The hotel is also situated on a different train line, the SEIBU-SHINJUKU line. The hotel rooms are rather small, but just enough if you are not planning to spend must your time in the room. The room was very clean and was also stocked with multiple amenities for the guest to use. In the bathroom, big bottles of shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are also provided. There are vending machines near the elevators that sell anything from soda, coffee, and tea, to snacks like chips, ramen, and other quick eats. There's also an ice machine located in the same vicinity as the vending machines. The hotel comes with free wifi for guests only. Upon check in, instructions will be given i how to access the wifi. I will definitely return to this hotel.
Worth it”
Spent a week in Tokyo at the Prince Hotel Shinjuku and found that the location is pretty convenient with lots of restaurants, shopping, bars and the Shinjuku Station fairly close by. The only negative is that it is located in one the noisiest parts of Tokyo and if you go to bed early you may have issues.
Decent hotel in Shinjuku”
Decent hotel in Shinjuku. It is close to Shinjuku station. You can walk. About 10 minutes. Or take a taxi. The rooms are not that big. However, for Tokyo that's the reality. Nothing wrong with the hotel. But check around for deals. Some nights are rather expensive for a room. There are other hotels in the area of similar quality. Check and compare. I have stayed here numerous times. The location is good. Nothing to complain about, except sometimes the pricing is higher than I think is fair value. But it is Tokyo.
shinjuku prince hotel”
i stayed in shinjuku prince hotel for 6 nights. it was a lovely experience! the location of the hotel was awsome! walking distance to shops, restaurants, subway station. the rooms are clean. i love the pepe store next to the hotel!!! and most definitely 100yen shop on the 8th floor!!! i'd definitely stay in this hotel again! haven't been to their restaurant so i was unable to give a good rating on food/dining.
