Great choice in 'mid-class' hotel.”
This was my 3 time visiting Tokyo and I can tell that Shinjuku Washington Hotel was the best choice by far. It is just next to the Tokyo city hall, a lot of place to eat, shop, enjoy are near. What can I say? It's in Shinjuku. I stayed in twin room which was not so small like the place I stayed before. Breakfast was great especially I loved the restaurant in 25F where I could look down the Shinjuku business area including the famous city hall building. other two breakfast options were also good. Shinjuku Station is 10 mins to walk. Concerning there are quite many things to see between the station and hotel, no complaints I had. Service was good enough, Engligh speaking guy is just right there, free internet access in room(free wi-fi in the lobby). My one little complain about this hotel was the 'elevator'. It takes quite long to take one, especially morning when many people try to eat, go out, check out. It's just crowded. I generally I was very satisfied with the hotel.
The room was clean, bed sheets were clean, bathroom was excellent with complete amenities. The hotel facilities were excellent, with a smoking room at the 3rd floor lobby, express check out and bus counter for the Airport Limousine. The Airport Limousine stops in front of the Hotel, which was also the reason we chose Shinjuku Washington. There were plenty of restaurants on second and first floor, mini markets and currency exchange machine next to the concierge (3rd floor, main building). The room was tiny and compact, as many Tokyo hotels are, but everything was excellent. It's 15 minutes walk from train station.
this is our second trip to Tokyo and each time we choose to stay in Shinjuku Washington Hotel because it is located near to the major train station and importantly, it is near to the starting line of Tokyo marathon. There are many food outlet nearby the hotel, all within 15mins of walk. Our favourite cafe is Doutor (next door of hotel) where it served great sandwiches for breakfast, pastries for tea and great coffee to perk us up. Although the room is very small, it equips with everything we need like toothbrush, hairdryer and other toiletries. Overall our stay in Shinjuku Washington Hotel is great.
Great Hotel Stay”
I always stay in Shinjuku Washington Hotel when I visit Tokyo. For couple who travel together, make sure have the room with full bed at least, otherwise, the room will be tiny. Main building is much better. The room have direct tunnel access to Shinjuku station. You just need to find the direction to Tokyo Metropolitan Building, which will get you to the hotel.
My husband and I had a great stay at Washington Hotel Main building. Altho the walk to the main shinjuku station give or take is 10-15 mins. Though It is only along the main road it is fine and is quite good if you have children to stay a further away from the busy center of Shinjuku. One thing would be that there was a young girl coughing for one whole night in the room next to us and I heard it throughout the night. Thankfully it only happened on our last night. All in all everything was great, the room size is expected of tokyo, bed and towels were amazing, location is good - just the walls are a bit thin.
A good deal”
The Shinjuku Washington Hotel was ideal for exploring Tokyo. Its location in shinjuku puts you in the middle of one of the most exciting neighborhoods in Tokyo and within a short walk (3 or 4 blocks) of Shinjuku station which allows you easy access to the rest of Tokyo and the rest of Japan. The facilities in the room, though small, were more than adequate. Although it wasn't what I was used to by american standards all my needs were met. My only complaint was that the internet stopped working for me on several occasions. Overall the hotel is well worth the money.
Great location but room was a bit too warm”
This was my first trip to Tokyo Japan. It was end winter and temperature was betwn 0-10 degrees. Stayed in Shinjuku Washington for 6 nites with my family (myself, wife and 3 children age 19-22). Had 2 rooms at the 23rd floor. My wife had a shock when we first enter our double room ...it was very small ... I guessed we were too used to the bigger rooms in Malaysia. :) The triple room my children had was slightly bigger. Somehow the so-called air conditioning (air flow only) were not very good and the rooms were too warm for comfort. For the first 2 nites, we bear with the condition thinking it would improve but it didn't. On the 3rd nite, we have to call the reception to do something. Someone came with a key gadget within 5 mins to open the room window to allow the cold air to flow in. Thereafter, it was much better ! I must say the hotel staff were very helpful. My daughter had her favorite pyjamas accidentally taken away by housekeeping when changing the bedsheets. We informed the receptionist when we checked out. Left email and home address. After a week, she was pleasantly surprised when she received her pyjamas in a parcel from the hotel. She was very thankful and pleased. That I call great service. Well done ! I like the self checkout machines at the lobby. It was simple and fast. It saves all the queuing and waiting time. On the whole, we had a good stay in Shinjuku Washington.
Shinjuku Washington Hotel Review”
Overall, I would stay at Shinjuku Washington Hotel knowing cons of the hotel. It is a very nice business or family hotel. Staff was very helpful and professional in all my dealings. Having quick and easy access to major transportation made the hotel in my decision to stay there. Restaurants and entertainment (food in basement and across the street and 10 min from the shopping district) was a good way to pass the time. Having the hotel be picking up and drop off points for airport and tours was a bonus in staying in Tokyo.
Making my Stay more Convenient than Ever”
I didn't stay in Tokyo for the whole of my trip. Rather, I only planned my last 4 days in Tokyo. Shinjuku Washington Hotel is so nice to allow us to keep our luggages till we came back to stay with them. That makes our trip way more convenient than we could ever imagine. They also have a stop for the Airport Limousine bus, which is one of the most convenient transport to and from the Tokyo airports. Staff are also helpful all the way. I do recommend this hotel to those who plan to stay near Shinjuku area.
Excellent location with easy access to transportation”
The Shinjuku Washington Hotel has many nice qualities: convenient location in Shinjuku; access to transportation, including the airport limousine; excellent staff; 5 restaurants serving breakfast in the morning. The hotel is well maintained. For those on business or sight seeing during the day, the hotel is excellent. However, the room we were assigned was quite small. The 6 main elevators were not sufficient to accommodate the number of users, especially in the morning. There are no bell boys to assist with the luggage. There were long lines waiting for breakfast seating.
A Couple's Review Post 4 Days of Stay”
Overall, we enjoyed staying at Washington Hotel in Shinjuku. My husband and I went to Ni-Chome quite often since it was the "gayborhood" of Shinjuku and they have a lot of bars, etc. It was a $10 cab ride tho back and forth, but anyone can take the subway and save $$$. Plus Harajuku (Fashion Capital of the Japan) was only 2 stops away from the JR Shinjuku line. It was pretty good. Would I stay again @ Washington Hotel? Sure. I would specifically just ask for a NON-SMOKING room. Everything IS expensive (for the most part I mean) in Japan but it's all worth it. Definitely made my experience worth-while. I LOVE the country.
Excellent hotel that offered good privacy”
The courteous hotel staff manning the reception earned my respect for being very thoughtful. We were allowed to check in, as early as 7.30am, for one of the room that we book for the day, as we were arriving early from the Airport. They are also very thoughtful by having English speaking staff to man the foreign guest counter. The location is ideal for visitor that do not mind walking a lot, because it is quite far ( more than a kilometer) from the Shinjuku Station, however, my family and I enjoyed the walks in the brightly lighted underground tunnel that connect Shinjuku Washington Hotel to the Shinjuku Subway Station. The ice cube the Hotel provide at the side of the walkway to our room is most welcomed by my children, especially after returning from a long hot day walk. The massage chair provided at the corner of the room certainly help to ease our pains after a long walk. Despite a small room space for the toilet, I find it meeting all the essential requirement of a functional rest room. I am very satisfied with the cleanliness of the room and the room service.
Convenient accommodation in Shinjuku.”
Chose the Shinjuku Washington Hotel as I got off the train at Shinjuku station, on arrival in Tokyo. You can walk to the hotel from the south exit of the station and the route is simple enough, too. On arriving there was plenty of people in the large reception area, so as there is two reception desks on the 3rd floor, it was a bit disorientating at first, but the efficient staff made everything run smoothly. The room had everything required for a comfortable stay.
Shinjuku Washington Hotel, 8-09”
The Shinjuku Washington Hotel provides clean and adequate accommodations for the price, and the location is ideal if you are doing business in the Shinjuku area. The rooms are small, but have all the facilities you need. The Internet connection controlled via the TV is unnecessarily complicated, but once you are in it works well. The hotel's restaurant off the main lobby and the private restaurants on the lower floors are all good and reasonable by Tokyo standards, but carry cash as the private ones don't all take credit cards. The machine used for exchanging currency in the main lobby gives a low rate of exchange, so best to get currency at the airport or a bank.
Great Location & Super Clean!”
The Shinjuku Washington Hotel was perfect for my 3 day stay in Tokyo. The subway is accessible from the basement floor of the hotel and is only a few minutes walk away. This made it really easy to get around the city. The staff were all super helpful and loaded me up with tons of maps and subway tips. The room was small, but clean and even had a window. Would definitely stay here again - great value for location and service!
It's a good hotel”
The Shinjuku Washington Hotel is one of the most facility hotel in Tokyo and good location where customer can access to the shopping place, also the train station. The staffs are really nice with their good service mind. The room service is also nice, when I call to billow an iron they came so fast. Also there are a shuttle bus to the airport which it the most comfortable to leave to airport, I love this services. Inside the hotel there are many restaurant and the convenient store where I could by the food and even the grocery easily.
this hotel ,has great location about 501 meter from Shinjuku metro station ,the heart of Tokyo ;close to shopping areas and department stores and time square . The hotel staff are very helpful and polite . Shinjuku Washington Hotel is clean and comfortable although the room is samll and bathroom clean but require upgrading.Private restaurants available in an arcade under the hotel. In general it is good value for money in the best area in Tokyo. Thanks agoda
Very friendly staff and good location”
Staff was very friendly and helpful. My reservation with Agoda was with Main building but the record showed that it was in an Annex building. The staff was able to make changes on the spot. Very very helpful. The hotel was connected to the underground walkway so we were able to walk from Shinjuku station during a Trami storm hit Tokyo without getting wet back to our room. We booked a 3-bed room which was a very rare option in Tokyo and the room was spacious (based on Tokyo standard). A much better option than booking a double-bed room and add one extra bed. Overall, great experience and will stay here again for my next trip.
Nice International Hotel”
We had a nice stay at the Shinjuku Washington Hotel. When we arrived we discovered that while we booked a non-smoking room, our reservations said that we booked a smoking room. The manager ultimately upgraded us to a nicer room to accommodate our non-smoking preference, which I suspect is VERY lucky. The hotel is a very large, business/international type hotel. It is connected to an underground passageway that takes you to the Shinjuku Station (about a 15 minute walk), where you can access subways and trains to anywhere in Tokyo and Japan. It is also close to a lot of shopping and restaurants. The room was clean and the bed and bedding were comfortable. While I prefer smaller hotels in general, for a large hotel I though it was great.
Great value for money hotel...”
We stayed in Shinjuku Washington Hotel for 4 nights. It was walking distance from the shinjuku station, wasn't hard to find on our first night. Room was a bit tight, good for 2 people really. Very clean though and updated toilet. The channels on tv however were limited to japanese channels and mostly spoken in nihongo. It was great that there were several restaurants on the lower floor with great food too! There was also a family mart on the ground floor if you needed some quick drinks or sandwiches/bread to go. Staff were helpful with queries on how to get to a certain place. Our overall experience was great with great value for money!
