“I was looking for a cheap hotel in Shinjuku area, and really didn't mind if the rooms were small, as long as the place was clean, decent, and had a great location. APA Hotel in Shinjuku-Gyonmae fits the bill to a T. It may have bigger rooms, I don't know, but for solo traveller like me, I was just looking for 1 single room.The room was very small, as expected. But amazingly compact in design and complete. This is Japanese efficiency of putting everything together in such a small space. I had a study table, a mini ref, a hospitality coffee and tea, and a giant flat screen TV (this was the only big thing)! The toilet was also amazingly compact, but well designed to fit everything you would need, including automatic bidet and nice hot shower. The toilet seemed like a pre-fabricated module plug into the room, and was spotlessly clean! As a single traveller, the small space is really just enough for one to move around, but who cares, I just need a place to sleep and shower. And I must say, the bed quality and duvet was superb--super soft, although the pillows were flat (Japanese style?). It also had an aircon so I switched it on so it doesn't get so stuffy. The reading lights and switches are also well located in such a small space. And must I say that the wifi was super fast! The location is also just less than 5 mins. walk to Shinjuku-Gyonmae subway (Maranouchi Line) which connects to Shinjuku main station (2 stops away) where you can connect to so many trains. Around the area is quite New Yorkish (quiet side) with Choco croque, Tully's Cafe, Freshness Burger, Coco Ichibanya, many Family Marts and 7-11's, and a big nice park behind. Very safe and clean neighbourhood. I didn't book for breakfast, as it was easy to eat out. It also has a free sauna and spa at the lower basement in case you want to use. I just took a look. It was a small but very clean. Hotel is quite new, it seems, and actually is a tall hotel, seemingly a business hotel for Japanese businessmen o”

“Nice Position, Shopping malls & JR Shinjuku Station &Metro nearby, Excellent services all the staying from checking in, everyone friendly,smiling & JPN style attitude. So many delicious restaurants in the hotel, most are worth to have a try, as some need to reserve first or u maybe could NOT in for too much guests, there's a little supermarket until 2or3AM B1F. Lounge is not bad with a nice view. The room is bigger than most other hotel in shinjuku I've stayed, but windows can't opened, so all the fresh air came from air conditioner feels bad. BUT The most CRAZIEST is as a guest I can NOT order anything in any restaurant delivering to my room, even room service foods menu offers littlest choices, trust me, u will be boring with them, as u know there are more choices & u have tried them downstairs. Also there's free shuttle service to Disney roundtrip, just reserve it, love it! Anyway, it's a great choice to stay. BUT so so bad feels while I just want order some more delivering to my room after my lunch or dinner in the same restaurant, All say NO WAY. It confused me so so much. Well maybe u guys think ur room menu is good enough. As a eater, I have to say NOOOOOOOOO!”

“Our second time in Tokyo and our first stay in Shinjuku. Reading all the other reviews good and bad and watching tons of Youtube videos. I can honestly say this little gem is perfect for everything, location, pricing and cleanliness. Located on the eastern side of Shinjuku you will find yourself with in a 4 min walk to Golden Gai, (A must see and experience for yourself area) The rooms are normal size for Tokyo if you want larger pay more and don't complain because you are frugal. After stalking the prices for weeks we finally found a really good price that included breakfast, normally we don't do breakfast but it was worth the extra 11 bucks a day and the breakfast was enormous and far far better then any skimpy European breakfast we had during out travels. The rooms were very clean and we stayed in a economy double on the 16th floor with a great view. They have a rooftop bar on the 13th floor landing that looked out over the city, they have daily happy hours and a decent menu as well at the rooftop bar. The front desk staff is more then helpful and will direct you and give you maps to anyplace you want to go. If you are a shopper , most big stores are by Shinjuku station which is about a 10 min walk. The area is very safe and you have tons of choices of food with in a couple min walk. I tried to cover all the bases here because I read a couple reviews that just seemed ridiculous and I want everyone to be upfront because thats how we book our hotels. Let me explain, if you have 4 to 5 Large suitcases and book a small double room for 3 or more people you get what you purchased its 15 SQ meters plus bath room they have larger that only cost 20 to 30 bucks more. The food in the restaurants was superior to or equal to most of the 4 to 5 stars we have stayed in. The area is a have a good time area , that is why you are staying in Shinjuku ! If you are looking for a hotel in Shinjuku and on a medium priced level then this far exceeds your perimeters.”

“Great location in Shinjuku. 5 mins walk to JR Shinjuku. Hotel is part of the Gozilla mall where loads of food places around and a cinema right below the hotel. Room is small as usual in Japan but very nice decor. Loves the bathroom. Room is also provided with a humidifier which helps with the dry air. Take note that the rooms are all non-smoking, i got locked out because of vaping my e-cig and Iqos in room. Apparently they say these are cigarettes too. There's a smoking room at the lobby though The Takoyaki balls is a must try below the hotel. Opens till late”

“Located very close to Shinjuku station (JR/NEX), and the bus station is at the same location towards Haneda airport. For those who want to go to Tokyo Big Sight for shows, there is a direct train from platform 1 Saikyo line. There is a Macdonald's right at the corner and loads of food at Shinjuku central if you walk a little. Yodobashi/BIC is 5-10min away on foot. The room size is bigger compared to Sunroute on the next street with similar pricing. The room had nice touches like a heated mirror (works great after a shower), mobile phone with unlimited data and free roaming calls to some countries (great for tourist), full size complimentary water and bottled shower foam and shampoo. Definitely my new fav hotel in Shinjuku.”

“Best Western Shinjuku hotel is positioned in a great location only a few minutes walk from the train station and right in the heart of restaurants, bars and shops within the area. The hotel is well kept and very clean. Rooms are not the biggest however we didnt spend too much time in there so that wasnt an issue. The staff are friendly and helpful. Shinjuku is however the redlight district so keep that in mind. Do not let this discourage you however as everything is tucked in behind closed doors and this is the place to be if you are into food, drinking, shopping and fun. The hotel has everthing you need with a buffet breakfast included in the room price and a convenient store right outside the lift. The staff will help you organise taxis, provide wake up calls etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel”

“Pro: hotel is between shinjuku and Yoyogi station. Use the Yoyogi station if you do not wish for a meltdown figuring out 6 stories platform with 200exits at shinjuku. Hotel is 4 mins walk from shinjuku new south exit (at new women). Hotel is opposite Takashimaya and Tokyu hands. Shake shack at ground level of hotel, tim Ho wan right outside the hotel, pizza and Vietnamese /thai restaurant on the ground level of hotel. Room facilities: English channels: CNN, BBC, channel news Asia, limited English movies (available usually more often in the day than night) , no children channel. Polite and helpful staff who will help to reserve airport limousine bus to airport. Bus pick up is on ground level of hotel which is super convenient. Hotel supply bottled shampoo, conditioner, body wash and Shiseido facial wash. 24hours family mart 2 minutes walk towards Yoyogi station. Cons: no cons. You pay for convenience.”

“LOCATION At first I was apprehensive of this as I booked this by mistake as i wanted the one at Shinjuku. However, this was a happy mistake. From Narita, able to get on the express train to the train station with a toddler, a stroller and two luggages in tow. Walking distance from the station (approx 50m). Lots of nearby places to eat, and supermarket just across the street. From Yotsuya-Sanchome station, going to Shinjuku, Tokyo, Ginza, Shibuya is a breeze. AMENITIES Breakfast spread is very good. No lack of variety considering its excellent price point. No gym or pool though. That's a small downside. ROOMS Clean. Comes with humidifier which was a big bonus for someone coming from a tropical country. Can sleep better when the air is not as dry esp during winter. End state verdict. Booked by mistake. But did not regret it at all. Best mistake ever.”

“I really enjoy staying at Hilton Tokyo a lot. I chose this hotel because Airport limousine can send me in front of the hotel. But I found out later that hotel also provide free shuttle bus from hotel to Shinjuku train station, the bus leave every 20 mins which is very convenient. This shuttle bus also take you back to the hotel from Shinjuku station as well. You can ask for the bus timetable at the reception. Also there's a subway connection right from the hotel lobby. I can get out the train at Nishi-shinjuku station and walk underground around 3 mins and pop up right inside the hotel lobby! Really convenient! Room view is great as I stayed at high floor. Really appreciate this hotel and I will recommend to everyone I know if they're going to Tokyo.”

“The location is good, but for someone who had to walk to and from Shinjuku Station with snowboard and luggage, next time i will look for something a little closer. The rooms was a good size and bathroom was ok. Staff at check-in were very efficient, but staff in the breakfast restaurant were not so. The biggest disappointment was the breakfast, not just for the service, as you would expect a lot more options in a hotel of this size. We ate there one morning and went elsewhere all other days. The best Shinjuku hotel i have stayed in the last few years that was around the same price per night is the Gracery, but these days it is much more expensive than when I stayed shortly after it opened, so when you consider this was around JPY15000 per night for a stay in Feb, it is actually quite cheap for a Shinjuku hotel of this standard.”

“If you are travelling between different cities in japan, you will appreciate a hotel so near a jr station. Its just one stop away from shinjuku so its very accessible to go everywhere and at the same time not encounter the crazy crowds at the shinjuku. Hotel staff was very helpful, we met a chinese female staff during our check in and she was so relieved that we could speak mandarin. The korean male staff who is on duty at night was equally eager to help when we had queries. The vip double room we stayed in was roomly and comfortable at great price. There is even a wholesale supermart just next door so you can get your daily necessities like mineral water at much cheaper prices compared to convenience stores.”

“This place is fantastic! Clean, modern rooms with comfortable, large beds. Just a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku JR Station, and 3 minute walk from Seibu-Shinjuku station. The hotel offers free buffet breakfast every morning with a great range of food options. The Super Hotel also has great laundry facilities (only 100 Yen to use the washing machines, the washing powder and dryers are complimentary). Above all, the staff are just wonderful. They make such a huge effort to help wherever they can, and always greet you with a friendly smile. This was my 7th visit to Shinjuku, and best hotel I've experienced by far.”

“This is a really great hostel! One of the best hostels that I’ve stayed at in Japan. 1.) The location is incredible. (Walking distance from all of the best late night spots.) 2.) “Before our trip to Tokyo, we decided we wanted to find a hotel in Shinjuku because it is central to where we wanted to go and the hotels here, as mentioned in different sites and blogs I've researched, are relatively cheaper than in Shibuya. Hotel Sunroute Higashi-Shinjuku is ideal for us because it is relatively cheaper than other hotels in the area (we were also looking at their sister hotel, Hotel Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku) but still offer great value for your money. It is located right beside the Higashi-Shinjuku subway station which services two lines, the Oedo and the Fukutoshin line so it is very accessible. We decided to purchase the N'EX Tokyo Direct Ticket (One-way), a great deal for tourists that offers you more than 50% savings, to take us from Narita Airport to Shinjuku station and from there we just hailed a taxi to our hotel. You can also opt to take the subway if you don't mind lugging your suitcase in Shinjuku station since Higashi-Shinjuku is only one station away via the Oedo line. The staff are very polite and helpful; checking-in and out was a breeze. The rooms are small but adequate for two people with enough space for two small-sized (15 kilos max) luggage. The room is also equipped with a refrigerator, flat-screen TV, free wifi and a toilet that is modernly Japanese you'd want to take it home with you. Dining is not a problem since there are several restaurants, fast-food chains and convenience stores within the vicinity (McDonald's, Pepper Lunch, 7-Eleven). All in all, I would definitely come back here on my next trip to Tokyo and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a cheaper place to stay without sacrificing the value of your money.”

“The hotel was very luxurious and beautiful. The rooms were the largest we had throughout our stay in Japan. The city view from our room at night was amazing. It's next to the Shinjuku Central Park and a short walk from Shinjuku Goyen for cherry blossom viewing. A free bus shuttle brings you to Shinjuku station where you can access most areas of the city. You can also walk to the station in under 10 minutes. The only thing we did not like about this hotel was the internet access. You have to request a wireless router for your room and then pay to use the internet (300 yen per day). The internet usage fee is small, but I thought when paying a significant amount to stay in a 4-star hotel they could at least provide free wireless internet. This practice seemed a little old fashioned.”

“Very good location: just 3 mins walk from Mejiro station (1 sta. away from Ikebukuro & 3 sta. away from Shinjuku). There are Family Mart, drug store and restaurants nearby. Check-in/ out process is fast and simple. Hotel staffs are very courteous and helpful, they speak simple English and trying their best to communicate with us. The room is clean, and spacious by Japanese standard. Laundromat available, and we may check the machine availability/ completion time from the TV in our room. Would be great if they provide bottled drinking water or water dispenser.”

“First of all, you need to know the room is indeed small (16 sqm) which is the same for all hotels in Tokyo for this price. If you are very very tall like 180cm then you might find standing in the bath room a bit problematic. However, putting that aside, the amenities are more than complete. The wifi with protected password are extremely strong (25mbps). There's mini bath tub, free evian drinking water, toiler with remote controlled bidet, very tidy and clean room, free mila schon shampoo, conditioner and body was gel on top of the provided shampoo, rinse and body wash, free toothbrush, shave, facial wash, clothes deodorant, bubble was ball, hair brush, free ice at 8th floor machine, free green tea, etc. Just put the house keeping sign outside the door and the room will be clean as new and everything used will be replenish except the mila schon stuffs unless the see nth left then they will replenish. The staffs can speak moderate english and one male staff can speak very well chinese. You can buy the 500 yen (worth 600 yen) voucher from the hotel to be used at the Tully's coffee downstairs. The Tully's Coffee pumpkin latte is a must try! Everything is nice! Next to it is also the Lawson store sth like 7-Eleven. The hotel will recommend cheap and good food to you and be very honest about all the tourist spots if you ask them. Hospital, restaurants, shopping complex, drug store and supermarket is just within 3-10 mins walking distance. There's the Don Quixote supermarket that sells almost anything at cheap price near the Korean Town that occasionally will have debuting Korean Star promoting themselves offering free signatures and photographs. The staffs are helpful and nice to offer any assistance you ask. They even have a weight scale for your luggage to make sure you don't go overweight for your flight! Awesome! The hotel is just next to higashi-shinjuku subway station. It is quite far from the red light district area. This area is for shopping, not for sightseeing.”

“The location in Shinjuku was great, with shops, restaurants and transport links nearby. The fittings of the room were new and everything was clean. However, the room was very small, so small that we could barely fit two large suitcases there, we had to put one on the desk and one on the floor. Also, the noise of the fridge was annoying at night. It’s fine if you basically want to spend all day exploring the city as we did. If you plan to spend some time at the hotel I’d recommend you book a larger room.”

“Travelling solo made better with my atay in Imano! Probably the best hostel I have stayed! Very clean.. staff so friendly they are great in english!!! Location is the best!!! 10minute walk to the nearest station Shinjuku Samchome! So near Golden Gai and Donki shinjuku.. i had the time of my stay.. food everywhere.. my fave Sukiya is just a few hundred meters away! Beds are comfortable.. showers so clean!!! Even if we are 36 in a floor, I did not have a hard time with toilets and shower, it was available all the time!! Towel is 200 yen for your whole stay so it was good!!! Food at the ground floor is great! Try it!!! Overall I recommend this hostel to all!!! I Love Imano!!!”

“The hostel is about 15-20min walk from Shinjuku Station where I dragged my heavy luggage in the check-in and check-out dates. Other than that, there’re a few subway stations nearby which is very convenient. The place is clean and tidy, they provide all you need for a night. The lucky thing was that my roommates were rather quiet, so I got good sleep. One shortcoming is that the air inside is quite dry, so just be careful of that. Other things are perfect.”

“The Global Hotel was very well situated, walking distance from many interesting spots in Shinjuku. Hotel staff was great and helpful, reception is open 24 hours and they speak good English. The facilities are clean, the restrooms and showers as well. As it was my first time in a capsule hotel, I was afraid that I wouldn't sleep well. I actually slept very well and the hotel was very quiet, the guests respectful. Quite a few international travellers stayed there. There is a socket to charge your phone etc in each capsule, an alarm clock, and you are provided with keys to a complimentary locker. The breakfast provided was minimal (water, banana, a bit of bread) but its free so just happily take it !”

All staffs can speak good English and quite helpful. - I stayed in 3 hostels or capsules during this trip. This is the only one that WIFI actually works in bed. - Located less than 5-minute walk from Shinjuku Station. Can walk around Shinjuku at night. - Locker bigger than other capsule hotels - Everything e.g. towels, pajamas, toothbrush with toothpaste, is provided. You can really travel light. - Easy to get to the airport with pre-booked JR Narita Express line. However may not be easy to get from the airport to Shinjuku Station since this train line has to be pre-booked with fixed time. - Out of the 3 hostels/capsules that I stayed in, I like this one the best and will most likely pick this one if I go to Tokyo again.”

“Yoko is the small hotel that looklike a house with the housing complex surrounding. May be better to ask how to get there before with mention the nearer station, nearer building poin, etc. Its quite difficult for the foreigner to find the location. But actually the location very convinient because near the station and shinjuku area. The fasilities are complete with our needs, the kitchen, microwave, washing machine, etc...”

“Stay was great!!! Very near the happening place at shinjuku. Hotel is superb on safety and cleanliness. The hotel maybe small and offers only shared bathrooms but everything is clean; everytime istep out of the room, certains areas seem to be checked out and cleaned especially the bathroom. The place is very safe as well; there are a lot of small restaurants and convenience stores nearby. The hotel itself feels very secure and quiet despite the size of the hotel. There are secure lockers for guest essentials and areas are monitored via cctv. The gem of the hotel however, is the warm treatment from the owners who were very accomodating to our every need, including carrying our luggages filled with too many things from the shinjuku shopping area nearby and getting us a cab; they also gave us free super tasty rice balls before heading out at 5 am for disneysea.”

“Very quiet and clean. Hostel staff was very nice and helpful. Included breakfast was pretty generous, definitely one of the more generous breakfast options I've had at a hostel even though it is quite simple (hard boiled eggs and toast with a free drink). The location is more in the residential sector of Shinjuku, so if you are looking to go out and party, this probably isn't the best choice. There is a really nice street with lots of restaurants and shops close by though. Private room with a balcony had a really nice view and the bathroom was quite nice too.”

“Tama Ryokan is a sweet little place with a good location. The owners are kind, helpful and good natured. In the midst of all of the concrete, it was fun to stay in an older building with character. The price is great for the location. It is an older building and the walls are thin. I found it charming and true to Japanese living, others might find it inconvenient. Note to people with allergies (like me) -- it is an older, wood building and there was a must in the air that affected me. People with out allergies would probably not notice, but I am fairly sensitive. I moved to a room with a window that I kept open (it was a very warm October) and I was fine after that. Overall, its a great place with hosts that care about creating a good experience. Highly recommended.”

“Cons: - it took another metro line to reach hotel (3min slow walk from the station @170Y for shortest distance, since I came with my husband, it meant 780Y at min to reach and go fm hotel by train) - no kitchen, 1 water boiler is available in sharing area Pros: - although small hotel, but it is very convenient and tidy, still new. They have 5 washtafels for dressing and 2 good hairdryers. Toilets and bathroom each 2rooms. - do ask for this room, u can open ur luggage on the floor (another room has narrow alley), each bed width around 70cm - the toilet has heater, like it - the small bathup is very helpful to soak urself having walked all day. - good choice if u leave early and back just around midnite. - the staff can speak English and veryyy friendly. “Within 7 min walk from JR Shin-Okubo station as well as JR Okubo station. More closer to Okubo station though which also has elevators & escalators so use that station if you have a lot of luggage. Okubo is a great place to live. It is surrounded by a lot of convenience stores, 7-11, pharmacies and 100 yen shops which is great for everyday living. There is mcdonalds nearby. The restaurants are also very cheap compared to other areas. I personally recommend the Yoshiya (or something) 24 hour shop for their affordable rice set dishes, the udon shop on the other side of the road.. There is a police box close by which is very convenient if you need to ask for directions or anything else. It is one stop away from Shinjuku. 3 stops away from Harajuku. 4 stops away from Shibuya. Known for its night-life, teen fashion and street performances on weekends and shopping respectively. At Shinjuku station you can go to the Tokyo Metropolitan Tower (I recommedn South Observatory) for free and get a panoramic view of the area. There is also a Korean member of the staff who speaks fluent English, the others speak adequate English so you'll find your stay very comfortable. There is also a free water dispenser and vending machines. The hotel is located very close to a shrine.”

“Great location right next to the station (direct JR Yamanote line) with plenty of cheap places to eat nearby, brand new facilities. Comfortable beds, laid back atmosphere, Interesting concept, very much a work in progress for decorations (opened two months ago), but the owner wants to create a space for anime fans to be able to connect with. Had a chat with him before I left and it sounds very exciting, can definitely see the place evolve in the coming weeks and months. Even over the course of my stay, the owner and staff were buying manga and furnishings for the place. There's a language barrier, hence some of the frustrations from other reviews, but you can tell that the staff do care and are doing their best to improve. Was close to major Shinjuku attractions like the Robot Restuarant and the Samurai Musuem (both located less than a 10 min walk). Walls are a little thin so noisy neighbors can be annoying but despite that, spent 4 enjoyable nights here. Checked in after 10:00 pm and staff was nice enough to make self-check in very simple. Close to subway and JR Shinjuku stations (15 min walk). Ministop convenience store located on the corner, great for a quick coffee and baked good before setting off to explore Tokyo. “We fit three people in the apartment which felt a bit too small, but I don't think we could find a much bigger place for the price in this neighborhood. The toilet in particular is very small, we are 5'9" and 6'0" and our knees were practically touching the door! The place was clean and nice enough, though. The hostel only has one washer and dryer, but there is a tiny laundromat very closeby. The location is great, less than a 10 minute walk from both Shin-Okubo station and Higashi-Shinjuku station. There are a Sushi Zanmai and a Family Mart extremely close to the apartment.”

Lounge is not bad with a nice view. The room is bigger than most other hotel in shinjuku I've stayed, but windows can't opened, so all the fresh air came from air conditioner feels bad. BUT The most CRAZIEST is as a guest I can NOT order anything in any restaurant delivering to my room, even room service foods menu offers littlest choices, trust me, u will be boring with them, as u know there are more choices & u have tried them downstairs. Also there's free shuttle service to Disney roundtrip, just reserve it, love it! Anyway, it's a great choice to stay. BUT so so bad feels while I just want order some more delivering to my room after my lunch or dinner in the same restaurant, All say NO WAY. It confused me so so much. “I really enjoy staying at Hilton Tokyo a lot. I chose this hotel because Airport limousine can send me in front of the hotel. But I found out later that hotel also provide free shuttle bus from hotel to Shinjuku train station, the bus leave every 20 mins which is very convenient. This shuttle bus also take you back to the hotel from Shinjuku station as well. You can ask for the bus timetable at the reception. Also there's a subway connection right from the hotel lobby. I can get out the train at Nishi-shinjuku station and walk underground around 3 mins and pop up right inside the hotel lobby! Really convenient! Room view is great as I stayed at high floor. Really appreciate this hotel and I will recommend to everyone I know if they're going to Tokyo.”

“We prefer to stay in Ginza when it Tokyo, but we wanted to experience the vibe in Shinjuku so we booked a night here at Keio Plaza. If you are decided about staying in Shinjuku, this is a great option. Service was great. We ran into a bit of inconvenience when there was suddenly no water coming from the faucet just as my husband and I were getting ready for bed (close to midnight). The hotel staff was responsive. Ultimately, they could not fix the problem and we had to move to another room. It was not the best experience, but the staff was attentive and apologetic -- and the when we checked out, the manager was there to offer his apologies and handed us with a special token. We appreciated this -- because not everything will go perfectly all the time, but how the staff responds to the situation is what makes all the difference. If you like cocktails, make sure to try Brilliant, a wonderful bar right inside the hotel. They make excellent and reasonably priced cocktails.”

“I came in on a slightly rainy night and as I came in trudging (by time i made it through customs and the N'EX got me to Shinjuku it was after 9pm, and I chose to just walk) up the driveway, the staff ran down to meet me and take my luggage and led me to the lobby. That's where the attention to detail starts. Whenever you leave the hotel, there is staff telling you to have a nice day, when you return they're there to greet you and welcome you back. If you have questions about where something is, they'll get you going to where you need to go (even if it's the nearest combini at 3am). It's not too far from the Shinjuku station, (it's definitely walkable, but make sure you exit to the right and not the left) but they have a shuttle that will pick you up and drop you off across the street from the station. Will definitely stay again next time I'm in Tokyo”

“Our group was 4 adults and 2 young children. We stayed for 8 nights. The house is a really good size, modern and the layout was good for our group. However, it lacks a TV, which would’ve been nice. The house was well equipped and located in a quiet area. It is about 8 minutes from Shin-Okubo Station, part of the Yamanote Loop (Shin-Okubo station doesn't have an elevator). The listing says 15 mins to JR Shinjuku but it’s closer to 20 minutes to get to the outskirts of the station. The house is right in Korea Town so there are plenty of Korean restaurants around. The house is 3 levels with narrow stairs, so be careful going up and down. The ground level has a bedroom with bunk beds, and the third level has 2 bedrooms (one with a double bed, and another with 2 single beds). Overall, a comfortable stay and very spacious compared to hotels and apartments in surrounding areas.”

“Our second time in Tokyo and our first stay in Shinjuku. Reading all the other reviews good and bad and watching tons of Youtube videos. I can honestly say this little gem is perfect for everything, location, pricing and cleanliness. Located on the eastern side of Shinjuku you will find yourself with in a 4 min walk to Golden Gai, (A must see and experience for yourself area) The rooms are normal size for Tokyo if you want larger pay more and don't complain because you are frugal. After stalking the prices for weeks we finally found a really good price that included breakfast, normally we don't do breakfast but it was worth the extra 11 bucks a day and the breakfast was enormous and far far better then any skimpy European breakfast we had during out travels. The rooms were very clean and we stayed in a economy double on the 16th floor with a great view. They have a rooftop bar on the 13th floor landing that looked out over the city, they have daily happy hours and a decent menu as well at the rooftop bar. The front desk staff is more then helpful and will direct you and give you maps to anyplace you want to go. If you are a shopper , most big stores are by Shinjuku station which is about a 10 min walk. The area is very safe and you have tons of choices of food with in a couple min walk. I tried to cover all the bases here because I read a couple reviews that just seemed ridiculous and I want everyone to be upfront because thats how we book our hotels. Let me explain, if you have 4 to 5 Large suitcases and book a small double room for 3 or more people you get what you purchased its 15 SQ meters plus bath room they have larger that only cost 20 to 30 bucks more. The food in the restaurants was superior to or equal to most of the 4 to 5 stars we have stayed in. The area is a have a good time area , that is why you are staying in Shinjuku ! If you are looking for a hotel in Shinjuku and on a medium priced level then this far exceeds your perimeters.”

“Great location in Shinjuku. 5 mins walk to JR Shinjuku. Hotel is part of the Gozilla mall where loads of food places around and a cinema right below the hotel. Room is small as usual in Japan but very nice decor. Loves the bathroom. Room is also provided with a humidifier which helps with the dry air. Take note that the rooms are all non-smoking, i got locked out because of vaping my e-cig and Iqos in room. Apparently they say these are cigarettes too. There's a smoking room at the lobby though The Takoyaki balls is a must try below the hotel. Opens till late”

“Located very close to Shinjuku station (JR/NEX), and the bus station is at the same location towards Haneda airport. For those who want to go to Tokyo Big Sight for shows, there is a direct train from platform 1 Saikyo line. There is a Macdonald's right at the corner and loads of food at Shinjuku central if you walk a little. Yodobashi/BIC is 5-10min away on foot. The room size is bigger compared to Sunroute on the next street with similar pricing. The room had nice touches like a heated mirror (works great after a shower), mobile phone with unlimited data and free roaming calls to some countries (great for tourist), full size complimentary water and bottled shower foam and shampoo. Definitely my new fav hotel in Shinjuku.”

“Best Western Shinjuku hotel is positioned in a great location only a few minutes walk from the train station and right in the heart of restaurants, bars and shops within the area. The hotel is well kept and very clean. Rooms are not the biggest however we didnt spend too much time in there so that wasnt an issue. The staff are friendly and helpful. Shinjuku is however the redlight district so keep that in mind. Do not let this discourage you however as everything is tucked in behind closed doors and this is the place to be if you are into food, drinking, shopping and fun. The hotel has everthing you need with a buffet breakfast included in the room price and a convenient store right outside the lift. The staff will help you organise taxis, provide wake up calls etc. I would definitely recommend this hotel”

“Pro: hotel is between shinjuku and Yoyogi station. Use the Yoyogi station if you do not wish for a meltdown figuring out 6 stories platform with 200exits at shinjuku. Hotel is 4 mins walk from shinjuku new south exit (at new women). Hotel is opposite Takashimaya and Tokyu hands. Shake shack at ground level of hotel, tim Ho wan right outside the hotel, pizza and Vietnamese /thai restaurant on the ground level of hotel. Room facilities: English channels: CNN, BBC, channel news Asia, limited English movies (available usually more often in the day than night) , no children channel. Polite and helpful staff who will help to reserve airport limousine bus to airport. Bus pick up is on ground level of hotel which is super convenient. Hotel supply bottled shampoo, conditioner, body wash and Shiseido facial wash. 24hours family mart 2 minutes walk towards Yoyogi station. Cons: no cons. You pay for convenience.”

“LOCATION At first I was apprehensive of this as I booked this by mistake as i wanted the one at Shinjuku. However, this was a happy mistake. From Narita, able to get on the express train to the train station with a toddler, a stroller and two luggages in tow. Walking distance from the station (approx 50m). Lots of nearby places to eat, and supermarket just across the street. From Yotsuya-Sanchome station, going to Shinjuku, Tokyo, Ginza, Shibuya is a breeze. AMENITIES Breakfast spread is very good. No lack of variety considering its excellent price point. No gym or pool though. That's a small downside. ROOMS Clean. Comes with humidifier which was a big bonus for someone coming from a tropical country. Can sleep better when the air is not as dry esp during winter. End state verdict. Booked by mistake. But did not regret it at all. Best mistake ever.”

“We were very impressed with the Citadines Shinjuku hotel. We had stayed at the Shinjuku Prince Hotel at the beginning of our trip before going to Kyoto. We stayed at the Citadines Shinjuku for 1 night after returning from Kyoto and just before flying out from Tokyo. The room was very new and quite large by Tokyo standards. The room was a LOT bigger than the tiny Shinjuku Prince room we had. An in-room kitchenette was a plus. The room we got had a double-bed and a sofa-bed, so it could accommodate the 3 of us comfortably. It felt more like a mini-apartment than a typical hotel room. A coin-operated laundry/dryer is available downstairs, which is handy. Free internet is available in the room, but you need to ask for a LAN cable from the front desk since wi-fi is not available. The location wasn't as good as the Shinjuku Prince, as it is a decent walk to the Shinjuku Station and where all the action is. On the plus side, it's more quiet and not so busy on this side of Shinjuku. It is also pretty close to a couple of subway stations. I'd recommend taking a taxi to Shinjuku Station if you have a lot of luggage. The front desk staff are friendly and can hail the taxi for you and tell the taxi driver where to drop you off. Overall, a very pleasant and comfortable stay. For longer stays, you can't get much better than this since you can cook/heat your own food in your room and wash clothes in the laundry.”

“The hotel was super luxurious, you will feel like living in a royal European kingdom. The facilities in the room was super complete, and the staffs showed great attention and respect. The room is super comfortable, just like the pic. I didn't order a breakfast, and 1 person cost about 2500 JPY. However, the hotel is far from Shinjuku station and the buses to and from Takanodababa were not that frequent and stopped operaring at 9pm. This made tourists like us have to take taxi if we arrived in the night, which we did.”

There is a 24 hour 7-11 convenience just in this building level B1, which is really handy. The room is quite small, very hard to open two big luggage at the same time, which is very common in Shinjuku hotels. ”

“I stayed at Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel during May 8th-11th and May15th-18th 2009. The hotel is situated in an extremely convenient location. Shinjuku is a busy area, but the hotel is located near JR southern entrance exit, which is a more quiet and calm area. Shijuku Shopping area (east exit) and Kabukucho are just a few minutes walk. Takashimaya and Tokyu Hand are just across the train tracks. You just need to walk across the walking bridge through the terrace, which takes only 3 minutes. AMPM 24 hours convenient shop is right across the street. Near by the hotel are a nice ramen place, kristpy cream, starbuck, local cafes, yoshinoya, Mc Donald's, First Kitchen and many more restaurants. If you're going to Roppongi, you can just take a Toei Subway located a few steps from the hotel. Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku is the best place to stay whether you're a business traveler or a tourist. I'll definitely stay there again next time.”
