Nice hotel in Jozankei ”
Right next to the river , very convenient location with carpark . Nice autumn view from our twinbed room with tatami hall , added a futon for 3rd person . Nice big lounge with free drinks and morning dessert and afternoon snacks, it was nice and quiet with few guests even though hotel was fully booked. Onsen is good , multiple indoor baths pool and an outdoor bath. Overall excellent service , special thanks to the cheerful english speaking lady assistant manager . Japanese Bf was delicious , with many dishes . “Stylish “ kaiseki dinner was an additional charge , nice creative presentation but was disappointed with the menu comparing with ryokans of similar price category . Overall an enjoyable , relaxing stay .

A very relaxing stay with lots of delicious snacks and food all day long!!”
Their breakfast and dinner (kaiseki) served are different for both days and all there meals are very well made. Ingredients are fresh, colorful and really delicious. Various drinks and snacks are available at the lounge area for customers to chill about. Morning and afternoon’s pools were swapped between men and women. Each having their own 3 different indoor pool, 1 outdoor pool, and a sauna facility.

Lovely onsen hotel that overlook the river”
The experience was really amazing with every single room offering a view of the river, regardless of the amount you pay for the room. Staying here for 3 nights was a blessing, as the hotel staff ensured no repeat of dinner and breakfast content. Pleasantly surprised they appear to observe my preference for fish diet and served a fish rich breakfast on the last day. The special touch sets itself apart from the rest of the ryokan in the vicinity. Highly recommended to experience the traditional Japanese hospitality.

Lovely Stay”
Our room was traditional Japanese style, facing the river, beautiful view. Food was out of expectation, our packaged included dinner and breakfast and the presentation was just so pretty. Facilities wise the outdoor onsen are a bit dated and they were public baths. We didn’t mind but just sth to note about. Staff affluent in English and also very welcoming.

Excellent”
Great location, close to the bus stop (taking the local bus from Sapporo bus terminal with 2 medium size luggages). Beside Kaiseki Dinner (a bit too many pickled food thus a tad too salty) and breakfast (good) the hotel also offers fingers food (cakes, coffee and fruit juice) at various time of the day. Room has nice view of river

Great expensive, breakfast is great, just dinner can be improved!”
Great stay, friendly staff, nice view from the room towards to the river with beautiful snow. Breakfast is great, while dinner is so so, and can be improved. BTW, the various hoeny buffet for afternoon tea is really a great idea and adds up a lot of joy to my stay!

Excellent location next to bus stop and Jozankei Shrine”
Perfect if you are here to see the Yukitoro. Overall I felt it lacks warmth, though meticulous as all Japanese hotels. Food was below expectations based on what I had heard and seen.

Nice place but service can improve”
The place is nice but would comment the management can be more flexible for the check in time. Also, their meal is delicious but the service can be improve because the service so quick and rush. You can feel the pressure when u have the meal.

Rude and unprofessional staffs”
They could speak poor English and did not inform us about check-out time. I've been in hundreds of ryokans and hotels in Japan and their check-out time is normally at 11am. They called us at 10.30am and rushed us otherwise they would charge about 1050¥ each! Poor communications and information. The onsen was just fine btw.

Good onsen experience for first-timer!”
There are a few options that my friend and I were eyeing. We picked Shogetsu Grand Hotel in the end. The FAQ in english language on its website is outdated. It was specified that breakfast and dinner are included and there is no wifi. I booked from agoda and dinner was not mentioned but I was kind of expecting dinner to be included as their website specified so. It cost around 200 usd for a night for 2 futon bed. The indoor pool is so-so, like jjimjilbang in Korea but the outdoor onsen is awesome! What I really like about this hotel - honey buffet starting from 2 to 10pm and dessert buffet starting at 7pm. The hotel staff did not explain properly so we had a pleasant surprise when we found dessert at 7pm. Buffet is complementary. We had fun tasting the varieties of honey available. Breakfast is traditional Japanese set, which taste quite bland to me but the presentation is very delicate. Would like to bring my folks here some day.

A hotel with possibly the best view in Jozankei”
Our experience at Shogetsu Grand Hotel was the best part of our Hokkaido trip. The room we got was very big and the onsens were beautiful. Our dinner was served in our room so we felt really private and relax. We would defenitely go back to Jozankei and stay in this hotel again.

Great Place to Stay”
Its a great place to stay. If you speak japanese, the crew is extremely kind and mostly the price is amazing compared to other places. If you are a smoker, you can smoke inside the rooms. The food is nice but the onsen is pretty old but with this price i recommand Shogetsu Grand Hotel for your visit in Japan. Thank you to the hotel crews!
